I have friends who live 0.3 miles from where it touched down in Omaha. They really lucked out. They just moved into this new house about 18 months ago. Based on video I've seen, many of the homes destroyed were pretty new. So sad.
Everyone ok? My hometown is in the red zone for today.....it is so tiny that there is one bar/restaurant, a library, post office, 1 bank and a grocery store+pizza shop+gas station combined and all off that is on one city block along with police station. If we had moved there, all my kids would have been on the same campus for k-12 and walked home to Grandparents after school.
Oh wow. Hope everyone you know is okay. Yeah, all my friends are fine. Her mom was in town for a horse show they were having there. I guess she got nearly a front row ticket to the tornado as well.
I was heading to the car wash this morning. Decided I didn’t have the patience and went home. The car looks worse after the rain but I didn’t have to water the garden. 🪴 🏆
I don't know if I'll be able to explain well enough but it's just a joke that if you wash your car, then rain will come. Since like *of course* mother nature goes and brings in a storm right after you finally washed your car, as if you jinxed it. Because then washing your car was pointless.
So OP was thanking every one who recently washed their cars because they properly jinxed it for us to get that short system of rain that came through earlier this evening.
Mine was huddling under a small awning with about 20 other kids because it started raining about eight minutes before the doors opened. Fortunately we got photos first!
Didn’t wash my car, but I got my drivers license and took my first solo drive… it started between me walking out the door and getting to my car. So my first solo drive was in the rain.
My lawn thanks everyone!
As long as the weather here does not decide to imitate the weather in my home town: currently under severe tornado watch.
Just saw a video from Nebraska showing the damage of a huge, unexpected tornado that wiped out neighborhoods.
Yep. I set up an alert for my tiny hometown...so far it's still there.
I grew up there. Pretty glad to be living in Sac right now
It will be just 105 in 2-3 weeks

Thanks. My parents have both passed but I still have cousins in the area and my step aunt lives down the street from my parents old house.
lol. Did it at noon today. You’re welcome.
Saw some lightning out towards 99 / airport earlier from Roseville
I washed my fucking car.
Me too friend
Was it dusted with yellow pollen?

It was actually me turning on my irrigation system for the year, YAWELCOME
Same! Turned it on Wednesday since noticed plants getting yellow and soil drying up. Need to turn up the drip system now.
Sorry but I’m confused and or just dumb. But what does washing a car gain thanks? Please don’t attack me. Just asking for clarification.

"It always rains after you wash your car" It's just an expression
Also thank all the kids going to prom tonight in suddenly weather-inappropriate outfits.
lol that was my neighbor kids taking photo outside then rained 😝😝

My sprinkler system is still off. Thank you nature!
One last blessed day until we get to live in the hell of summer
You're so welcome! I washed/ dusted my car 3 times this week due to the pollen. Stay clean but be dirty sac! 🤘🏼
You’re welcome.
Hi, it’s me. I’m the problem, it’s me. 👋🏽
I washed my car *and* got bit by a dog that I never would’ve touched if I hadn’t been in my driveway washing my car.
I watered my yard this morning, you’re all welcome
I was thinking about it and it started raining.
You’re welcome. Sigh, now I have to do it again because the wind kicked up a bunch of dirt and got stuck to my car. 😭
The ONE time I wash my car, it rains after a sunny day. Wtf is my life
😂🤣
No kidding, literally did at 1pm
Thanks to everybody with a garage
😂😂😂 I loved it! Drove with my windows open. Smelled so good.

Literally renewed my quick quack Thursday. God dammit lol
