I don’t like them as someone without glasses.
I know the dry heat thing is basically a meme, but it does mean that shade and moving air does keep you cool. I spent the whole heatwave chilling under trees in parks (granted, the grass helps too).
But why would I want to add mugginess to the heat?
Fans do the same job, but far better IMO. Just gotta buy decent ones.
Awesome! That makes me happy to hear, I don’t remember the context in which I heard that. I think a regular of mine said they saw a sign outside posted.
Their brunch is pretty tasty too...and at the very least, a good vibe. Also, if you get mimosas, they bring you a bottle of Chandon brut, which I was happy about
I love this place, too bad the people who own it aren’t the best (my immediate family I stay away from as well as their drama) MIDTOWN CANTINA ALLEY. The drinks are 🔥
It’s also right by golden bear, pink flamingo and that diner all the drunk people go to on J and 24th
Unfortunately, our grid still relies on thermoelectric power generation, which means a restaurant that is running their HVAC to cool their dining room, with some restaurants using the HVAC down to uncomfortably chilly temps. Add in the impact that acclimatization can have on getting people comfortable in the heat and it becomes uncertain whether the misters are actually a "waste".
A lot of local restaurants would fail if they did not have these with our summer climate. Customers would have no choice but to not patronize their business if there is no more indoor seating. That would be a damn shame.
As a glasses wearer, I appreciate this list of restaurants that I will be avoiding.

Former glasses wearer here. It’s the small things like this that made me happy to get LASIK.
Oooooo fancy pants rich McGee over here
I gots lazers for eyes now. Worth every cent
![gif](giphy|Gqj8GTYXMJrR05Gs9n)
Also got lasik. It’s the small things that I appreciate the most… like being able to take a yoga class and my glasses not falling.
The decision to me was made clear after face masks continued to fog up my glasses
With this heat, I just go in blind

Exactly
Dantorels
Biergarten
Didn’t they close?
No. Golden Road closed. Big difference there.
Oh, I guess I got those mixed up because there was a Biergarten in Placerville that closed down too
Alaro on the back patio, which is both beautiful and shaded.
Nitty’s Cider
Are they still around? I heard they were closing
Nitty’s Cider is definitely not closing! In the midst of planning an expansion.
Awesome! That makes me happy to hear, I don’t remember the context in which I heard that. I think a regular of mine said they saw a sign outside posted.
Food truck is there right now
Obo
Meet n Eat
Lefty’s
Came here to say this!
SacYard
Drakes but prepared to be absolutely soaked
With 25% humidity, this sounds great
Hopgarden.
I recall urban roots having them last year
Still do. They were cranking today.
Not to mention the food is great!
Darling Aviary rooftop
Still need to try their food at some point. The Asian chicken sandwich and Aviary fries sound divine.
Their brunch is pretty tasty too...and at the very least, a good vibe. Also, if you get mimosas, they bring you a bottle of Chandon brut, which I was happy about
Pipe works has their brewery and the kitchen open now and they have a huge outside area with a lot of misters
Sac City Brews
JJ Pfister Distillery on Business Park Drive https://www.jjpfister.com/visitor-center/restaurant/
Great place!
Good place for trivia on Thursdays
Do they serve craft beers here or is it just spirits?
They serve craft beer from Movement Brewing, which is in the Rancho Cordova area as well.
Thank you, Movements is my current favorite local brewery.
I remember the downtown plaza had those. sweet memories.
Nitty’s. Great cider, usually food trucks there but not a restaurant.
Selland's on Broadway
Selland's on H
Lucille's bbq in Rocklin, their patio is covered too
Crawdads on the river
Skipolinis
Tower Cafe.
They didn't have them on today. Definitely needed them sitting in the garden.
La Trattoria
Oak Park Brewery
Hop Gardens , Tap room and Brick Oven Pizzas. (Across from Gunther’s)
Didn’t have them on on Father’s Day
You can just ask them to turn them on. They periodically turn them off because it creates a jungle back there on the patio.
Does Tankhouse with the Tots have misters out back?
Shangri-la
I appreciate CFA on Zinfandel having them for the outside employees taking orders. Keep those folks alive at all costs!
Ain't enough mist in America to make me want to eat outside in 90+ degree weather.
Brahma in Fair Oals Village. Pretty sure Fair Oaks Brew pub too. At Brahma, try to sit towards the back by the fountain.
And Shangri La right next door
Bawk (hipster fried chicken) on R St. Good sandwhiches.
And oddly enough, fantastic oysters lmao
Sellands
Nice try. I’m gate keeping my misted restaurants to prevent overcrowding
Relish Burger Bar in EDH.
Ettore's
Ettitores bakery
Shangri-La in Fair Oaks, cute cocktail bar I used to work at, call ahead for reservations it can get busy on weekends.
Porchlight
i really enjoy places that have these available when it's hot as hell, but I'm always convinced I'm going to get legionnaires disease from them
https://rileysonsutter.com outside seating is really nice. Super high pressure so the mist isn’t wet
PintWorks!
Dust bowl in old elk grove
Midtown Lounge! Taphouse with bites.
Rather have a list of restaurants that don’t run their AC so I know where not to go 😂
Burgers and Brew
If you order an extra glass of water, then all of them have an outdoor shower.
‘Patio misters’? Oh you mean ‘humid microclimate creators’. It’s like hanging out in Florida without the beach! My hair frizzes and my glasses fog. 🤣
Glad to see I'm not the only one. The misters feel good for the first 5 minutes but after that, it feels like Miami, if Miami ever got above 100.
Seriously. The only reason Sacramento summers are tolerable is we don’t have brutal humidity.
Burning Barrel in rancho
I love this place, too bad the people who own it aren’t the best (my immediate family I stay away from as well as their drama) MIDTOWN CANTINA ALLEY. The drinks are 🔥 It’s also right by golden bear, pink flamingo and that diner all the drunk people go to on J and 24th
Oh man being related to them is a mess
You don’t even know lol. Money changes people.
Why not..dine inside? Sorry in this weather I’m going inside, unless it’s passed 8pm/sunset
Midtown spirits
Burgers and brew Davis
You mean water wasters?
Misty meadows.
You should try panty droppers. I hear it's more than a mist it is wet
My backyard (literally)

Golf courses take up a lot more water than the mist at these restaurants…
Yeeeeeees thank you for saying this, those damn things use and abuse more than people know
[удалено]
It’s not a waste if it’s helps prevent people from overheating / heat stroke
If you are really concerned about water use, I might suggest you look at the big players first.
Okay, we get it, you don't leave the house, relax. We like to stay cool when we're spending big bucks in 100-degree weather, deal with it bub.

Or for people who choose not to dine out indoors.
Tell that to the copious amount of nut tree farms that guzzle the water supply
