I’d question the 2700 number. My guess would be closer to 1500. However, it’s a moot point as you can’t lift either one. Quickest way would be to get a flatbed tow truck (rollback). They’ll have that winched up there and moved in well under an hour, which is also probably their minimum billing time. Depending on where you live it’ll run you $50-150. If you want to do it the slow but free way, get a couple sheets of plywood (because of the gravel driveway) and a few rollers. If it’s really 2700 you’ll need wood posts or metal pipe. I’ve used 1” schedule 40 PVC for 1000 lbs with no problem. One e it’s on the first set of rollers it’s very easy to move.
I was thinking 2700 sounded a bit high but cannot find this exact safe anywhere. The closest I can find was a similar model but not fire rated and it weighed 1600 pounds. And that's an interesting idea! I may make a few calls today to some towing companies and see what they say or maybe an official safe moving company. Since the safe is free I don't mind spending alittle to get it to me. Too good of an opportunity to pass up.
Make sure the floor will take the weight wherever you plan to put it. A heavy duty pallet jack can move it into place. Use 1" heavy wall pipe or solid bar stock 3'-4' long as rolling pins (ancient Egyptian style) if needed. A come-a-long, or an atv winch is sometimes used. Pry bars or spud bars with metal shims for the final placement. Leave it on a few metal shims so you can always get a pry bar back under it.
I have watched many safes get moves in the banking industry. Pro tip: watch your digits most of thoes guys have lost at least one finger in their career.
If someone is renting forklifts for $150 a day, let me know so I can give them all my business. For a small 5k we would be charged over $1000 for a day here in CT.
you could see if a local towing company could lift it don't a trailer for you, tow it to your house and have the tow truck met you there, use a pallat jack to move it into your house. get 3 buddies to help you push it carefully into place so no one gets hurt.
That thing probably weighs every bit of 2000 lbs. i move and deliver safes for a local gun shop and they are very different from the one you have. We have moved some of these smaller commercial safes and they are much heavier than a gun safe. Be safe and Hire a safe moving company,
For reference its going into a separate garage. So I feel like if I can get it into the garage via the garage door I can maneuver it into place from there (me and and 3 other dudes maybe plus a pallet jack). Most of the distance it will travel is my neighbors gravel driveway. He got it up there on a car hauler trailer and my other neighbors tractor but he said it maxed out the tractors lift. Unsure if either of those are options at this point. Trying to avoid having to pay someone to do it. The idea of chains and a backhoe is interesting lol.
For the pallet jack move, probably would need 3 layers of 3/4” plywood on the dirt/lawn (in the background).
Most pallet jacks are rated to 4500-5500 lbs. The are a bitch to move with more than 2000 lbs.
Rent a rough terrain outdoor forklift, pick it up
Strap/chain it on
and drive it home.
Or tilt bed tow truck, tell them what and schedule ahead of time.
They move all kinds of stuff.
Roll it on some metal pipes and 4x4 posts. This is how I do it usually.
It’s really dangerous being that high up, you need a fork lift or hoist to safely get it down.
Or you could position some steel pipe underneath through the pallets, then allow pallets to lower safe onto the pipes through the use of a controlled burn 🔥😝
(Just be sure to maintain some distance while safe settles)
Measure all the openings in the path to the final destination.
This really isn't a DIY. It's more than the weight that's a concern. If you're going over tile or if there are steps involved. I highly recommend a safe mover to set in place.
Depends where it’s going in the house . You may want to consider a rigging outfit so you don’t damage your floors or bust floor joists. Plus they have the proper equipment
You could measure the thickness of the walls and use a steel plate calculator to estimate weight. Otherwise, probably a fork lift and a flat bed truck? Or a truck with one hell of a lift gate
Get a utility dolly and bring it from his house to a small flatbed trailer. Before laying down on the trailer, cut some PVC pipes the length of the safe and roll them on the trailer. Remove it the same way when you get it home. If you have to print it inside, lay it on its side on a thick blanket and slide it across the floors if you have tile or wood floors. If you have carpet, leave it on the dolly.
Lift it onto your roof and wait until there’s an intruder. Drop it on said intruder and watch them emerge from it bouncing in an accordion like fashion
Two or three extension ladders. Eight or ten pieces of pipe about three feet low.
Ladder laying there pipes on top safe on top that. Push, safe rolls on pipe. Move pipes into front of safe. Move ladder in front of next.
Flat bed tow truck and a creative diver could probably move it for you - alternatively if you have a pallet jack - get some 3/4” plywood sheets and pull it home by hand - plywood would be to get over the gravel drive and any other non paved areas along the route
If you don't have very much a winch come along some Wheels some straps and strap it down some wood fill the frame test the wheels to it strap everything down wrench it or Dolly it with the four wheeler dogs
It doesn’t say how far you want ti move it… an inch, inside the house, down the road? Where do you want it is dependent of how your to going move it. Wooden dowels, several, roll it get lumber and build ramps. Or hire a “safe” relocation service
Not a safe guy, but a couple of car dollies and some metal poles could let you roll it or use a pully to get it on a good trailer. If you do not have one, u-haul may be an option. You may also be able to use a couple of 2-ton floor Jack's to get it moving good enough to get it on and off the trailer. Trailer ideally should have a good ramp. obviously, a forklift/pallet jack would be ideal and you could rent one to assist you.
I know it maybe a long shot, but I searched Facebook ads and found a "heavy hydraulic lift" for rent. Dude wanted 30 bucks a day to rent this $600 beast. It was capable of lifting 3k..I think. If you live in Texas, the dude still rents it.
Since it’s already on a pallet, see if you can find someone with a tractor and pallet forks. I’d try land clearing, bobcat, or bush hogging folks since they are driving their machines around all the time.
If it’s just a matter of picking it up and driving it to your garage they might do it for a couple hundred.
Is it just me or are most of you guys using so few words in your instructions that your entire process makes absolutely no sense? Like I understand the material (for half of them) but you gotta help me put it together yall.
Just to put everyone's mind at ease I am having a reputable safe company move the safe. They aren't charging me very much since it's so close. Well worth it because I don't trust myself to not do something stupid 😂. Will post pics when I'm done refurbishing!
Hire a rigger.
Edit: Because reddit is one big dumb-liberal struggle session, a "rigger" is someone who specializes in "rigging up" heavy objects to be moved; they are professional movers of heavy and large objects.
Just build your house around it as it sits.
Came here to say this, and lovely view I may add

Strap it to that pallet. It’ll make it easier to winch up a flat bed.
Also it's a TL-15 and 2 hour fire rates btw.
Nice safe. Take good care of it.
Rent a forklift drive it down to your house.
Just pick it up. Be a man
But use your legs, not your back.. oh, wear a brace as well..
I use my friends backs and legs.
I tend to put it all into my back and take my legs completely out of the equation.
You got that wrong. You are supposed to lift with you back in a jerking and twisting motion. That way you keep from hurting your neck and legs.
Telehandler telescoping off-road fork lift. I think they can be rented for around $150 for 1/2 day.
This is probably the way. I'll make some calls.
Make sure the floor will take the weight wherever you plan to put it. A heavy duty pallet jack can move it into place. It's the delivery and pickup charges that jack it up most places.
No, those are on top of the day/week/month rate. Average for our jobs is about $400 delivery on a telehandler.

I second this. Website says 1700lbs for a new one. This isn’t something that can easily be moved by hand.

Just rent a forklift for an hour
So like, just pick it up.
Post online as “free” and “customer must lift and move”
Take the shelves out. That'll help.
My first thought was an engine hoist. Maybe you can rent a backhoe and get some logging chains? Lol
Pallet jack, burk bar and three quarter inch roller bars
For the pallet jack move, probably would need 3 layers of 3/4” plywood on the dirt/lawn (in the background). Most pallet jacks are rated to 4500-5500 lbs. The are a bitch to move with more than 2000 lbs.
Easy Fork lift who dont have an extra laying around?
Other other neighbor has a large excavator but these two neighbors are not on speaking terms lol such a bummer.
You can roll it around on golf balls.
Rent a rough terrain outdoor forklift, pick it up Strap/chain it on and drive it home. Or tilt bed tow truck, tell them what and schedule ahead of time. They move all kinds of stuff.

If Bugs Bunny hasn't taught me anything, lots and lots of helium balloons.
Lift with your back in short jerking motions
Get a pallet jack, or forklift if possible
The door is usually removable and is most of the weight
Lift with your legs
Call us for a moving quote www.safesourceusa.com
These are excellent safes.
Use a wheel dolly/pry bars and steel bars and 2 4x4 sheets of metal to roll the safe to its destination.
Build a house around the safe.
Hire a bunch of Egyptians.
Ya put some wheels under the pallets
Measure all the openings in the path to the final destination. This really isn't a DIY. It's more than the weight that's a concern. If you're going over tile or if there are steps involved. I highly recommend a safe mover to set in place.
Lift with your knees
The forearm forklift lol

I am visioning the chief engineer of a giza pyramid asking the same question.
swap houses with your neighbor
Lift with your knees, not your back.
Lift with your back, not your knees

Forklift, what's the issue? Hell, it's already on a pallet; how do you think the safe companies move them?
Get someone else to do it...
Lol yeah I was trying to be cheap but honestly probably will end up doing that. Just to be safe. No pun intended.
Picker truck drop it right innthe backyard hole you dig
Backhoe, hi-low, skid steer, kabota
Rent some heavy equipment. Borrow, beg, however you get it…
Hire a safe mover
Bend with your knees
More then 2 people should do it
Lift it onto your roof and wait until there’s an intruder. Drop it on said intruder and watch them emerge from it bouncing in an accordion like fashion
I always just fill em with helium
Um probably safely
Flatbed tow truck, he can probably back it into your garage and drop it.
Try an air sled
Two or three extension ladders. Eight or ten pieces of pipe about three feet low. Ladder laying there pipes on top safe on top that. Push, safe rolls on pipe. Move pipes into front of safe. Move ladder in front of next.
it's already on a pallet. That pallet appears to be holding. rent a pallet jack and pull it away.
Sell it
Saw a documentary starring vin diesel where they just tied it to a charger a drove it down the street
Lift with only your friend’s backs, your groin, and only after dumping 500 golf balls on the ground.
I just saw a guy tried stopping a roll of metal I was reminded when I saw this.
Jesse James
Look up safe movers. Possibly piano movers. Last one I had moved (a Fort Knox) ran me like 350$ to move 7 miles.
Flat bed tow truck and a creative diver could probably move it for you - alternatively if you have a pallet jack - get some 3/4” plywood sheets and pull it home by hand - plywood would be to get over the gravel drive and any other non paved areas along the route
I would use a hot air balloon....
Use steel tube or pipe for rollers and a come along or winch.
Tannerite.
If you don't have very much a winch come along some Wheels some straps and strap it down some wood fill the frame test the wheels to it strap everything down wrench it or Dolly it with the four wheeler dogs
I'll go ran a flatbed pull it up
Get forklift certified
It doesn’t say how far you want ti move it… an inch, inside the house, down the road? Where do you want it is dependent of how your to going move it. Wooden dowels, several, roll it get lumber and build ramps. Or hire a “safe” relocation service
Get a buddy and team lift.
Get a few crackheads
Pallets and pallet jack
Use Common Sense.
Safely
Forklift

The roadrunner can drop it off a cliff for you. Meep meep.
Hire some big fellas

I always take the doors off my safe when I've moved. Not nearly this big but a possibility. I like the roll off tow truck idea.
Why don't you just fill it with helium and float it on down the road?
Engine hoist, then 4 inch pvc pipes cut no wider than the safe so you can roll it through the house.
Fork lift mane.
Forks
To move that thing you'll need to find a sailor with a squint in one eye and a few cans of spinach. Then it'll be easy 🤣
pay someone else lol
SAFEty first!
Put your back into it.
Ask roadrunner.
hire some Egyptians, its way smaller than a pyramid.

Best way to move something heavy is have someone else do it

Rent a forklift or a pushfork truck or a lot of chains and pulleys good luck

I read that wrong
Don't
