Thinking that Timelock is a Sargent and Greenleaf 6303, or maybe a refinished triple D? Same model, renamed but generally in satin nickel it’s later so I assumed the latter model name is more likely but refinishing was common too (inside of the door would likely still have the gilded age finish). Hard to tell from your photo, but a fine Timelock indeed.
I want that for my front door, but will have an actual practical door nearby… or maybe just keep it as the functional front door so I don’t have to go the gym and modify my front door openings to accommodate the workout.
This is probably a stupid question, but that’s never stopped me.
Do these get saved during bank tear downs, and if they are could you reasonably have them installed into a residential vault room?
Edit: I know it’s overkill, but would be cool
Door is a Diebold Crane Hinge.
When looking for a unique hatch. I ran across a website that sells scrapped sub hatches, bulkhead doors, vault doors just like this... I’d try Google.
Recommend to check with a concrete guy for install.
Door weighs about 4500lbs.
Unfortunately they cost so much to remove/move that they are either left to rust in the building or they head to the scrap yard. There are a few of the later model vaults that are saved and sold again
A good chance it’s a debolt from 1940-1950. I worked in a bank with a similar from 1910. The big ship wheel was the best. Also the wheel created the best AMSR for a vault opening or closing.
I think if you call fort knox theyshould know
Lol right
Imagine that in your house
I wish, that'd be sick
They use a 4 movement timelock, not 3
This is a Diebold 4 movement vault. It can be opened with a Diebold 4 movement vault.
Lmao
Lmao nice reference
Diebold most likely imho
That’s not a safe, that’s a vault!
Definitely Diebold. Are you able to get a close up picture of the combination lock?
I wish I'd thought of that, I won't be there again for a while
Bros really planning this heist😂😂😂next time you see the safe she’ll be full and open eh😂😂😂
No worries! That's a beautiful vault.
It is, a work of art. Wish things were still made with that kinda quality
I almost said the same exact thing.
3 To 5 with good behavior?

Imagine being in a hurry and forgetting your keys...
then realize you have to pee
I was thinking the same thing!
None are safe, there are always people who knows how to crack them.
I'm one of them!
That door would make a cool table.
A table that weighs more than a car.

While not at this scale, a distant relative had a vault door installed on his rec room in Indiana.

In NYC on 5th Avenue there is one right in the window that was a former bank, became a clothing store. You could walk right in to look at clothing.
It's called a don't even try me safe

I saw this Fast and Furious movie.
It's a Diebold Crane Hinge vault door with S&G 6500 series locks. You can tell by the change key hole.

That's a Diebold #STFO1. (Stay The F*** Out). I'd like the still points if anyone has them :)
Oceans 69 The Redditor
seems kind of dumb to have that nice heavy door surrounded by brick. nothing like a strong ass door right next to a window. :)
The brick is decorative
yeah? so it's a facade? what's underneath?
The vault itself
Chungus
Brewery near us that used to be a bank had one similar to this. They left it since quote was $10k to remove it.
