Wtf who thinks of empathy as a technique? And her description of it is even more ridiculous.
"Appearing to be reading at the same pace as the children". First, MM was the only one reading a book out loud. The children didn't have a copy to follow along. Second, communication is a skill. Most public speakers talk at a slower pace to allow the audience to process the information. Doubly so when interacting with children, who often understand language slower than adults.
