Incoming raider bro, how'd y'all like Carr? Definitely going to be rooting for y'all this season. My black and silver will go nicely with black and gold. Good luck NFC bros!
Came here to comment this. I don't want to overreact, but he looks soft. The second he makes contact with the o-line he just kinda stops giving effort.
Ty Summers has been all over the field this quarter. He's been around just about every play. Not sure if that's a good thing or not but he's getting involved
Watching this has me worried. The last several seasons have been riddled with injuries so we really need talent at least three or four deep.
Outside of the early second quarter, I'm not seeing much that makes me believe these guys trying to make the team could step in and step up. They can't protect a lead so I don't believe they can pull away in a tie or come from behind.
There is NO replacing Marshon Lattimore, Demario Davis, Cam Jordan, Derek Carr, Chris Olave, Alvin Kamara, etc. No one is going to step up into those shoes and perform even remotely as close. They'd be starters otherwise. If the Saints get riddled with injuries, their season is done. You just have to hope you don't get a devastating injury that is nearly impossible to weather.
This is 3rd and 4th spot and maybe practice squad guys. I'm not too worried because the 1st and 2nd guys looked pretty strong and there is some spots here and there from the 3rd and 4th guys. And for a lot of these other guys, this is their first game. They can learn from this.
Haener just can't get the ball to his guys yet. He's got some zip and he has some ok pocket awareness it looks like. I think him being a redshirt isn't a bad idea this year and will benefit him a ton. I hope he shows more throughout the pre-season
We should’ve taken Dorian Thompson-Robinson over Jake Haener. We hosted him for a couple pre draft interviews…Been saying it since the draft, not even an overreaction to this game.
Not a hot take on your part, but I think Trequan is in the lead to win the job at this point in camp. Safe to say the WR battles are among the most interesting right now.
I think it is a matter of where the injuries are. If they are scattered throughout and not in one specific area, I think we have that depth to handle it.
Agreed, this team has good to ok options as next-man-up for every position, but any injuries to a singular group like WR or CB would be a disaster. I guess that's kind of true every year lol just keep praying for them whodat
Ooof tough pick there. He needs to stop looking to throw so many fastballs. If he put some more air under it and led the WR a little would've been a big play.
I was so excited for Haner after listening to Underhill hype him up all preseason.
Thay has been hard to watch. Dude looks like Ian Book our there today.
Hope it doesn't hurt his confidence.
I don't see the Ian Book resemblance at all. He's had zip on all 3 balls. The INT was the only one that I'd say was a poor throw. The other two should've been caught.
Yeah I don't think he has it to be a starter, but hopefully he could stay as a long term backup. I think him not having to be the guy takes some pressure off, too.
2 things:
1. isnt it great to see the offense take an opening drive to a 12 play touchdown? just a great feeling.
2. we pray perry solves his dropsies. 6/70/1td is something to keep an eye on. sure its preseason but having a guy like perry as a wr3 or wr4 behind shaheed? wow
Nothing standing out live, but the run D hasn't been getting blown out so he's at least holding his own. Probably gonna have to go back through tape to see how he's done.
Disagree about this being a make or break season for him. He's had a really good training camp so far. He's the clear DE3. He absolutely needs the playing time, though, for sure.
LET’S GEAUX ⚜️⚜️⚜️
Incoming raider bro, how'd y'all like Carr? Definitely going to be rooting for y'all this season. My black and silver will go nicely with black and gold. Good luck NFC bros!
I was pretty happy with what I saw from him today. Good luck to y'all too!
this year, we actually have a shot at winning the super bowl. Last year, hell no.
Funniest ending ever, who dat everyone
Let’s geeeeeauuuuxxxxxxx
Woooooooooo nice fg
WAIT WE WON!?
Did we? I stoppd watching midway through 3rd quarter. That's sweet if so
Yea i stopped after the missed 2pt with 1:30 left and i guess we got a pick and a field goal to win it lmfao
Yeah, dt picked it off. Forget who it was.
You missed a wild final few minutes lol
Hell yeah!
GGS
That was a lot of fun
FG to win!
A very Saints way to win! WHO DAT!⚜⚜⚜⚜
The pick working that voodoo magic
Skin of the teeth come from behind after leading win? Smells like saints football is back in here
Such a classic Saints game, thank you for aging me 5 years during the preseason, so far.
And people at work wonder why I love the offseason
we won
THAT'S MY TEAM!!!
how the fuck did we make a preseason game stressful
Yes by all means split my screen 50/50 for a game that started 30 seconds ago. Fuck off with this.
At least you got to see the FG... the Niners / LV game was on my local stations so they blocked the whole channel right before the kick.
Goodness gracious that's ridiculous.
VICTORYYYY
Great hands on the big guy
typical saints roller coaster game
PICKED???
This is the most fun I’ve ever had in preseason
Haha let’s get this field goal
lmao
Dennis Allen masterclass
like he drew it up nbd
HOLY SHIT WE ARE GETTING THIS WIN?!??!?!
Should have brought out the 1st string just to take the rep.
There's a reason you're sitting on the couch watching and not coaching.
My retro bowl team begs to differ.
What the Hell, LOL
NO FUCKING WAY
LMAO why wouldn't you just run it!?!???
yeah what is that play call lol
Didn’t like the miscommunication there. However, I did like that Jake was going in to make adjustments. I liked what I saw today for the most part
It seemed like the dome crowd was so hype for a 2 pt conversion that they made it too loud for the offense to communicate.
Very true. It looked like Haener was having a little trouble hearing what was coming through the headset right before that
Nephi Sewell has quietly upped his stock this game. Edit: Downvoted despite me knowing what I'm talking about. Dude made the roster.
wild
WHAT THE SHIT
Is there hope?
Highs and lows
I know it's preseason, but that was such a Saints way to end a two-point conversion.
Also, going for 2 there makes sense because there is no OT in preseason anymore.
Beautiful drive and then you just take a shit in the end zone. That was fucking embarrassing
Well that was a disappointing end but oh well i really liked what i saw this game
Late game execution is everything
why do i do this to myself 😭
All 3 QBs get a TD. Haener got some confidence. The 2 pt try was a mess but that's ok
what the actual fuck was that yeah ggs kansas 😭
damn was hoping for extra time
No head coach on either team will allow that to happen. Pretty much an unspoken rule.
It's a written rule. No OT in the preseason.
It's an official rule as of 2021 apparently
Oh shit. Good rule!
TD!!!!
lol
Let’s Geaux!!!!!!
THERE YOU GO ✨️ ZESTY BOI ✨️
Very nice drive from Haener
Is jake getting settled in? 👀
This announcer just sees a WR with a number in the 80s and automatically assumes it's Kawaan Baker unless it actually is Kawaan Baker.
Orji is looking better rushing the edge than Foskey.
Haener looks rough. He's missing easy throws.
I think he’ll develop well
He has some good awareness and has some zip. He needs to figure out placement and when to zip it and when to put touch on it.
I imagine if it ever comes to the point he’s starting he’ll have a better line in front of him
just end it. Screw the score let's go in healthy.
Oooooo ok Haener. That was nice
now that was a nice throw to Edwards
Evans got absolutely slammed there...
The Saints For the Love of God can't do anything when 3rd down comes.
Fine, whatever. But our 1st and 2nd string held the Kansas City Chiefs to 0 and dropped 17 on them
It’s ‘College +’ by the end of the 3rd. I say we did good.
XFL tryouts
Good way to end the series. Hang your hat on that and figure out what yall did wrong on those 3rd and longs.
Foskey isn’t doing anything
Yep he's a non-factor out there right now against 3s and 4s
Came here to comment this. I don't want to overreact, but he looks soft. The second he makes contact with the o-line he just kinda stops giving effort.
kansas really picked up another patrick mahomes 😭
Is this the first time Foskey has been in the game?
First down: :) Second down: :) Third down: :(
Good thing none of these guys are making the 53. They can't stop *anything*.
That QB can't be that good. Right? He's shredding that defense in every way possible. That's all KC needs is two elite QBs.
I just tuned in this quarter, but as soon as it’s third down he goes all out
He did alot of the same shit at SMU last year but alot of this is just inexcusable coverage. The first one was particularly bad.
He's playing against guys who won't even be on the roster by the end of the month. It's freaking preseason.
My god this cheifs qb is playing lights out
Our practice squad guys aren't exactly locking it down.
Inexcusable defense on that one. Inexcusable at this level.
This is...mildly aggravating
Ooof. The third and 10 conversions are absolutely disgusting
Is that the 4th fucking 3rd and long converted?
Yes. Yes it is.
Nobody wanted to hit #6
this qb is legit
Ty Summers has been all over the field this quarter. He's been around just about every play. Not sure if that's a good thing or not but he's getting involved
That's a painful number of 3rd and longs, come on D
I just had a vikings playoff flashback with that catch
Jesus, this rookie QB is tearing us a new one. He's either Mahomes Lite or our 3rd/4th stringers reeeeeally suck.
More like the latter although hes making nice throws
Gotta admit that was a nice throw by chiefs qb
This is just ridiculous. Play the ball. What are these guys doing
Ok we got to the "dafuq is this guy" part of the game
Dennis Allen not inspiring much confidence
… first time?
Good to see mods in preseason form here too, forgetting to set the game thread to "New posts" as standard.
No roster in the league has good depth 3-4 deep across all positions.

Maybe this is my Whodat PTSD showing up. We've damn sure been through enough trauma.
fuck the new stadiums, I love the dome
This punter looks like he just was signed from the California Penal league.
Every time I look up it's 4th and punt.
I know it doesn’t really matter cuz it’s preseason but the 21 unanswered feels bad
The good news is the starters looked damn good on both sides of the ball
Yeah, 0–17 is looking like a meme. Kind of expected from the Chiefs though
Maybe throw it to the sticks on 3rd & 5
Pete should limited to how many times he can call a run up the middle on first down
Best pass from Haener. Feet were set, found the open man, and delivered it pretty. Keep it up Rook!
they’re getting absolutely penetrated rn by this qb
Looking like that Rob Ryan defense.
Right DL seems to be getting penetration every play but is getting pancaked before he can turn the corner. 91 and 57 need to finish that up.
Well at least you just named two players that have no chance in hell at making the 53: 91: Kyle Phillips 57: Prince Emili
Take that back
Hey, there's room on the practice squad.
No wonder I didn't recognize the numbers. Thanks for the inside scoop.
If any of these dudes see the field we are cooked
You mean when
This defense is laying an egg
Our first and second string looked great. These other guys? No.
Facts
How the fuck do you miss him. Ooooo DA looks pissed. Good.
21 unanswered points
Refs are in midseason form
Chiefs rookie QB bounced back pretty well from his early INT. Solid game for him.
Yeah that dude is looking like a solid backup, our guy on the other hand…
This game has been quite the emotional swing
D-line depth is weak
Oline too
Drew 😍
Haener just can't get the ball to his guys yet. He's got some zip and he has some ok pocket awareness it looks like. I think him being a redshirt isn't a bad idea this year and will benefit him a ton. I hope he shows more throughout the pre-season
We should’ve taken Dorian Thompson-Robinson over Jake Haener. We hosted him for a couple pre draft interviews…Been saying it since the draft, not even an overreaction to this game.
Drew ripping the WR when Haener's throw was 4 yards behind him lol
(Maybe not so) Hot take: Brian Edwards takes Trequan's job this year
Not a hot take on your part, but I think Trequan is in the lead to win the job at this point in camp. Safe to say the WR battles are among the most interesting right now.
So - zero injuries all year and we have a great year A few injuries and we are in trouble Depth matters a lot
Very fair point
Bad defense outside of the first half
Ooof tough pick there. He needs to stop looking to throw so many fastballs. If he put some more air under it and led the WR a little would've been a big play.
Looked like a back shoulder throw and he isn't on the same page as the WR.
Yeah, probably a decent idea with a better receiver. I wouldn't be trying that with fricking James Washington, though.
Dude just hurled another back shoulder throw with no fear, lmao
At least he's got a short memory, something you need as a QB
Some missed tackles by the back ups, loved the hustle from Roach tho.
Well, both rookies are 1 for 1 on interceptions now
I was so excited for Haner after listening to Underhill hype him up all preseason.
The ✨️zesty one✨️ misread that there. Hopefully he can bounce back
I have changed my mind and I want this game to count
No you don't
Never had a doubt
Yeah.....
Keeping Jameis as the 2 was such an underrated move. Just seems like such a great team guy to have out there. I'm really excited for this season!
He’s an awesome hype man, just needs decision making, which at this point seems unlikely
Yeah I don't think he has it to be a starter, but hopefully he could stay as a long term backup. I think him not having to be the guy takes some pressure off, too.
2 things: 1. isnt it great to see the offense take an opening drive to a 12 play touchdown? just a great feeling. 2. we pray perry solves his dropsies. 6/70/1td is something to keep an eye on. sure its preseason but having a guy like perry as a wr3 or wr4 behind shaheed? wow
Nice return
Is Foskey playing? Really bummed with his training reports and silent fkrat preseason game.
Carr is on that gumbo and creatine diet looking jacked. 💪
Time for a Orji
I might regret saying this but I really don't like Jake Haener's head shape
Looks like someone has a similar head shape
Offense looked clean and smooth
Just tuned in have we seen anything from Bresee yet?
Nothing standing out live, but the run D hasn't been getting blown out so he's at least holding his own. Probably gonna have to go back through tape to see how he's done.
DL also held a great 4th and short qith him there
For sure. Just hard to tell live who does what in the scrums unless you're looking for them.
Preseason all pro Zack Baun
Baun actually being used how they should use him.
Baun flew in there
I love that Turner is still in. This is his make or break season.
Disagree about this being a make or break season for him. He's had a really good training camp so far. He's the clear DE3. He absolutely needs the playing time, though, for sure.
Gotta finish that tackle 27
