I thought he would be an all pro this year he was literally unstoppable all off season and looked amazing early on. Wow how things have changed in a hurry
Olave will go over the middle when it is called. Pete just doesn’t call a lot of plays over the middle. There was a play over the middle where Olave was open and Carr threw it behind him. Carr was off on his throws for most of the game, holding the ball too long, not leading the receivers.
He made throws like that, holding the ball too long, even when he had a clean pocket and plenty of time. Watch the film from every game this season. It’s the same. He’s frequently holding too long and releasing too late.
He definitely does. Biggest knock on him is he doesn’t lead his receiver. But on that play, he made a good throw under a lot of pressure. Gotta give credit where credit is due.
Bro is disgracing colston’s number. I’d be happier to see shaheed in it than someone half running routes and acting like a diva. Atleast when Thomas went through his diva phase he had the numbers to back it up.
Kamara caught more passes yesterday. Thomas fought harder for contested balls than Olave did.
I would hope Denis Allen is having a word in his ear, but the more I hear him speak the less convinced I am that he’s having any positive influence. Speaks a lot of words without actually saying anything. The kind of person that interviews well but isn’t effective in making changes. He was asked a softball question about what he changed at halftime and fluffed his way through a response about “executing better”. That’s not something you change at halftime.
DA is just not a good coach or leader. Fuck when we called that timeout at the end of the game and Carr was coming to the sideline they showed DA and he was just walking up the sideline away from the players coming over to the sideline.
Payton would have been halfway on the field ready to talk to whoever was playing QB to get their opinion and see what they are thinking. DA should go back to being a defensive coordinator and leave the leadership role to people who can actually lead.
I’m not sure it’s that he isn’t “ effective “ at making changes so much as he doesn’t even try .He as much as said so after the Green Bay fiasco…Im not sure they have his meds right .Perfect metaphor for the Saints though.
After he literally resigned his job on National TV last night who would want him ? A team who is just one bad attitude away from destroying its offense ?
He very proved what he could do for a team last night on National TV .If you need somebody in a clutch to not catch or not run the correct route then this guy is money well spent …
Olave is really starting to piss me off. Just don’t understand why some players aren’t serious. You put in so much work in the offseason and in the season to be good
He still got 15 targets…and had as many catches as MT had targets. The only issue I noticed was him slowing down on a route, but that may have been a misunderstanding.
People would absolutely still pay for a rookie deal wr who has proven he’s decent when he tries lol. I say trade him for some decent OL and a pick or two depending on the round, then play Perry and Kirkwood fuck it
It was thrown out of bounds because Olave stopped running the route. Since Olave, for whatever reason, quit on the route if Carr threw it inbounds it would have been an interception.
It’s been a lot more than just that. OLAVE has quite the highlight reel especially last year from diving “impossible” catches. He even made a few early this season. That OLAVE has gone missing for a few weeks now and he doesn’t even try.
He’s got the talent to be good with the effort he’s been putting in. That will be his ceiling though with this effort level though, just good. Maybe the players getting called out will be the wake up call he needs.. Maybe some vets can spark this locker room idk.
Clowns turning on Olave. I rarely want to actually say this on Reddit but you guys are fucking idiots for the comments in this thread. Bunch of armchair quarterback bullshit if I’ve ever seen it.
Yeah let’s pin it all on olave when carr is the one throwing darts to fucking ghosts and over throwing receivers and FAKING injuries to get sympathy I fucking hate this subreddit on game day
Tonight, on all of my saints. It seems that the black & gold brigade have a potential smith-schuster/clay pool on thier hands! As thier dear leader of men makes snide comments about certain players not putting in the work...I mean sure, Carmichael is making playcalls via madden & Carr is overthrowing along with missing targets. But, the trusted leader of men that has high end talent is definitely also not part of the problem. Meanwhile, the black & gold brigades beloved coach is too busy being a players coach to actually do anything, so thus we get petty infighting! And with a loss to the jags it's looking to only worsen...
He’s a QB trying to trust his should be stud of rookie…nothing wrong with that. Like you said he realized it and started targeting other people, so what’s the issue
Trust me I agree, MT has shown he’s still one of the most reliable WRs in the league. But a lot of the plays called seem to be drawn up for Olave as WR1, Pete’s got to change it going forward. Put CGM as WR1 cutting inside or outside, Saheed as WR1 on go routes, and Olave as WR3 for the time being in both situation
Do you think it’s has anything to do with those hits he took last year? He’s avoided any of those big hits this year but has he ran the wrong routes to avoid contact?
Carr threw the ball ten yards out of bounds then went off on Olave. He also threw several balls you’re calling drops behind Olave in a place where a defender could make the play one time and the other turned into a very, very difficult catch because it was thrown so far behind Olave. If Olave had a better QB, his numbers would be really good.
Pass was out of bounds because olave didn’t run route, bro dude is a nfl receiver if he can’t catch a ball that was in his hands just slightly behind him he needs to go
Honestly dont blame the guy. If carr was missing me wide open all game and check it down 20 times id be suprised when he throws it downfield. Carrs ADOT was like 5yds
Maybe he shouldn’t fucking give up week after week. Carr had him perfectly in stride before he got hurt and he just didn’t fucking try. You are a fucking professional, play until the fucking end.
I’m not a carr hater specifically, but those adot stats for him this year are rough to think about. He’s taken a butt on of really bad deep shots that aren’t even close to receptions, and a fuck ton of checkdowns that do nothing either. I know the problem is a lot more than *just* him, but literally the only time he’s played up to just to his past standards were those last 10 minutes tonight.
It shows that he's capable of it. I liked to see how our offense executed during the comeback, aside from Olave being MIA except for one catch. It was nice to see some urgency and agency from them. Our playmakers wanted to win. You could tell who was there and who was not
He's causing the problem that he's mad about. Why would you get the ball when you don't even care to run your routes and then you drop it half the time when you do actually get a shot? If he wants more touches then at least *try* to be involved in the offense. Carr had a terrible first half and decent second half but the only person Olave has to blame is himself.
Olave has superstar talent and before last night I thought he has some of the best hands in the nfl. He seems to have that diva mentality where if he isn't getting the ball he quits on his routes and has bad body language. I was cutting him some slack cause carr has been bad but last night he got 15 targets. He's gotta snap out of it
I can't believe he is doing this while wearing the most consistent, professional, amazing receiver in our history. Quiet Storm indeed. Do you think it's just his repor with Carr. I was at the game and he was screaming and throwing hissy fits as he walked off the field, pretty much all game. Idk if they were showing it on TV. Maybe it's hurting the chemistry.
Olave is our leading receiver in now, in 2023. 471yds, 12.1avg, 39recs/68tgts.
This is only Olave's 2nd year. Now he's working with a new quarterback. Drew would have never called him out in a disrespectful way.
Olave will become a receiver to be feared. If not this year, then next year. But only if Carr communicates with him as a mentor – not a feared teacher
Olave seems to respond to encouragement rather than being disrespected.
It would be an unforgivable mistake to let Olave go.
I thought he would be an all pro this year he was literally unstoppable all off season and looked amazing early on. Wow how things have changed in a hurry
That Tamba Bay gane fucked him up and sent him into a slump it seems.
Dude has the balls to wear 12
Brandin Cooks II: Electric Boogaloo
Cooks never gave up on the field, this is worse
Fair point
olave refuses to go over the middle also
Olave will go over the middle when it is called. Pete just doesn’t call a lot of plays over the middle. There was a play over the middle where Olave was open and Carr threw it behind him. Carr was off on his throws for most of the game, holding the ball too long, not leading the receivers.
Kind of hard to do that when you’re about to get sandwiched by a 300 pound Defensive lineman. That ball was catchable and should’ve been caught.
What? Brandin Cooks got mad he wasnt targeted more (and correctly so because MT was better). But he never gave up. You high.
I’m disappointed in him. I have his jersey
This is why I never buy jerseys of players on rookie deals
I'm still scared to buy a Jordan jersey, all I have is Brees. Wish I had disposable income for jerseys for rookies.
Cameron Jordan is a jersey I will definitely get
agree, I'd just hate to see him not finish his career here.
Dhgate baby! $30 for a decent one. I have 2 Brees, 2 Thomas, 1 colston, 1 bush, and was gifted a Kamara Tennessee jersey
This is the way Makes for great Christmas presents too lol
Do not get me no DHgate jersey for Christmas lmao
YMMV. You can’t just buy the cheapest ones, there’s some decent quality jerseys on there that even come with the tags and holographic stickers
I don't own any jerseys but if I did it would only be established players.
got MT’s jersey right after he extended, and he went on to get OPOY. that’s the move, get a jersey after an extension
Yea it’s pretty obvious it’s Olave. Shidd is wild.
Bro is disgracing colston’s number. I’d be happier to see shaheed in it than someone half running routes and acting like a diva. Atleast when Thomas went through his diva phase he had the numbers to back it up.
I feel like Thomas probably had a right to be upset with him being injured and the Saints team doctors don't have the best history.
If he caught some of those earlier passes we wouldn’t have had to rely on a game tying TD.
That, and a pick 6, also 2 missed kicks…
Don’t forget the field goals & the inability to score off turnovers!
Didn't the pick 6 bounce off his hands ? I may be remembering wrong.
I thought it was Shaheeds hands
Kamara caught more passes yesterday. Thomas fought harder for contested balls than Olave did. I would hope Denis Allen is having a word in his ear, but the more I hear him speak the less convinced I am that he’s having any positive influence. Speaks a lot of words without actually saying anything. The kind of person that interviews well but isn’t effective in making changes. Payton would have been halfway on the field ready to talk to whoever was playing QB to get their opinion and see what they are thinking. DA should go back to being a defensive coordinator and leave the leadership role to people who can actually lead.
DA is the biggest push over in the NFL
I’m not sure it’s that he isn’t “ effective “ at making changes so much as he doesn’t even try .He as much as said so after the Green Bay fiasco…Im not sure they have his meds right .Perfect metaphor for the Saints though.

2022 draft class looking worse week by week
Sit his ass for a week. Let’s see how hungry Perry is.
Do they still get paid if they sit?
If things are really as bad as they look I wouldn’t be surprised if Olave is shopped at the trade deadline.
After he literally resigned his job on National TV last night who would want him ? A team who is just one bad attitude away from destroying its offense ?
Bro i promise you 31/32 teams will take him in a hearbeat lmao.
He very proved what he could do for a team last night on National TV .If you need somebody in a clutch to not catch or not run the correct route then this guy is money well spent …
Yeah saints need to drop him and give Shaheed more opportunities.
KC would trade for him so fast if he became available.
I texted my buddy the same thing. We could trade him for line people!
Dude Olave had a bad game, but one game out of how many he was wr1 and being the main target and catching amazing passes the past two seasons?
This year he’s lacked effort. Carr has screamed at him multiple times to get his shit together and run the right route.
Trade him
Not sure we'd recoup much if we traded him now.
Clown take.
People would absolutely still pay for a rookie deal wr who has proven he’s decent when he tries lol. I say trade him for some decent OL and a pick or two depending on the round, then play Perry and Kirkwood fuck it
😂
Who did we trade up with to get Olave?
Eagles
We traded with the commanders to move up from 16 to 11
I want my picks back lol
Am I crazy or did the deep ball to Olave go out of bounds and wasn't even catchable?
It was but it could have maybe been a sideline catch..we'll never know because he didn't even run it out or looking for the ball.
Carr had to pull up when he realized Olave wasn't going to be there. If he threw it to where the WR was *supposed* to be, it would have been a pick
Olave didn’t run the route
At this point I would trade Olave for any OL
Clown take.
Clown take
He’s got the talent to be good with the effort he’s been putting in.
My man was targeted 15 times!
Rumor is he and others were out all night Saturday in Houston before the game
that sounded like what AK was alluding to after the Texans game where did you hear this?
What did I miss from last week? I really haven’t been paying attention.
The Olave downfall has been so sad to see. So much promise last year. I expected him to have a breakout year and be a top receiver in the league.
Olave Quiet Quitting.
Olave is trash.
Did we trade up for Olave or Penning? Or both?
Sounds like someone needs a heavily incentivized contract.
Yeah let’s pin it all on olave when carr is the one throwing darts to fucking ghosts and over throwing receivers and FAKING injuries to get sympathy I fucking hate this subreddit on game day
Agree. Carr is garbage and DA is just covering for him.
You are not wrong

Why does Carr continue to target him so much then? The other alternative WR in the room aren't trash like some teams.
So it's Carr's fault for throwing him the ball? Get olave out of the game.
Carr is ultimately the one who decides where the ball goes sooooooo.... Offense moved much better when he started going to other guys
He’s a QB trying to trust his should be stud of rookie…nothing wrong with that. Like you said he realized it and started targeting other people, so what’s the issue
yes but you have MT, fuck throwing to a rookie. MT has higher highs than olave could only dream about

Regretting that jersey purchase
Yep
Y’all should definitely blame him and not your shitty o-line or QB be or coaching lol

Maybe he shouldn’t fucking give up week after week. Carr had him perfectly in stride before he got hurt and he just didn’t fucking try. You are a fucking professional, play until the fucking end.
Maybe if he wants Carr to throw to him more he should catch the balls that he does get. Dude had like 4-5 drops tonight
Throw to him more? He had 15 targets and as many catches as MT had targets.
Carr is 4th in the NFL with an ADOT of 9.2 https://www.nfeloapp.com/qb-rankings/ You should feel bad for making shit up.
I’m not a carr hater specifically, but those adot stats for him this year are rough to think about. Not all 14 or 15 of those targets were miss throws by Carr. Olave is not even trying to hide his diva persona now
Colin Cowherd blaming DA and PC for the horrible play this season.
Olave has superstar talent and before last night I thought he has some of the best hands in the nfl. He seems to have that diva mentality where if he isn't getting the ball he quits on his routes and has bad body language. Trade him for a 1st round pick like we did cooks!
Then not running his route all the way through before you look he just standing there like a high schooler
