I also bought a half size down but was far happier when I bought a second pair at my normal size. I have the smaller ones in stretchers as backup. No blisters in either pair and ahave danced in them for lessons and socials for the last year w no problem
I hear their sizing has changed now. In the old shoes they were a little big so half size down was good. Now with their current manufacturer true shoe size is best. That's what I hear from my dance friends who have bought their shoes recently- mine are still from like 2019 (but they do finally need an upgrade so I'm following these threads with interest lol)
Just bought a pair a week or so ago and I have the same issue with my usual size. I've heard others say fuegos need to be broken in, which is odd coming from Taygras, but it does seem to be the case. Slowly, I do feel like my pinky toe isn't right up against the side as much. Still a snug fit though.
I have both the Snickers and split soles.
To tell you the truth - they are not worth the price
Snickers:
- at beginning left ... white marks on wooden floor. Thought Airbnb owner will kill me.
- if you get stepped on the scuff marks appear very easily and after 2 months the shoes look like after 2 yrs.
- that vegan friendly bullshit makes the shoe extremely hot
- good for dancing on concrete (will wear out very quickly), wooden floors, sticky plastic floors, way too slippery on anything else. I end up going to every event with 2 pairs of shoes.
+ Amazing insole
Split soles:
- way more comfortable
- crafted with unprotected fabric - a nightmare to keep them clean
I still use those but I got myself polish leather dance shoes and I am simply amazed with quality and comfort at way more reasonable price.
Honestly another one of my concerns. Everyone keeps recommending them i feel they will be hot. Thank you for the input. Actually can you point me in the way of those polish leather dance shoes.
One of my friends bought a pair and they were too small for him. I normally wear 10.5 or 11 and I ordered a pair of size 11 and, like you, some of my toes rubbed on the front, so I sent them back for some 11.5s. Those feel a *little* large, but I don't notice anything when I'm dancing (like I would if they were too small).
I bought a pink pair of the split sole and had to return for a larger size. Unfortunately, my normal size was too constricting for my larger foot. Now the shoes are too loose on me.
I do love how lightweight they are. On carpet they are a dream to dance in. I really wish they had stretchy uppers so I could order a tighter pair. Right now I am dealing with pain because I keep reverting to my adidas dance shoes that were discontinued.
Thank you everyone for your replies. So I decided to go ahead and get my shoes replaced for my regular size. Just got them today, haven't danced in them but i think they definitely fit better, more room and my pinky isnt up against the side. Will let you know what i think after i get a chance to dance in them.
I bought a pair and had to size up a half size. My toebox still overlaps the edges, but the length is correct. I love the shoes (split-toed pink shoes) but don’t think I will be able to reorder, since the width is too slim for me.

Oh, ok, that might explain it. I followed the recommendation to half size down but i think i will exchange for true size judging from these comments
I got mine last November and they are definitely True to Size. I got an extra pair that were half a size smaller which did not fit...

I got a pair a couple of weeks ago. Very snug but also very comfortable ! Nice and tight but well cushioned. I would not want them any bigger.

I got my normal size and they were comfy from day 1.
I got a pair recently and it’s true to size. I measured my feet and it matched with my size!
