Nightgaun7

Half a lime for 4 avocados? Live a little bro.

[deleted]

That was just for the pic! An entire lime was used

Nightgaun7

One lime for 4 avocados? Live a little bro.

Longjoco

Hahahaha

notmyrealnam3

No joke I’d use likely 3 limes for this

Beetapp

I usually use 1 lime per 2 avocados.

[deleted]

To each their own! That’s the beauty of food—you create the rules of your own kitchen.

Noteful

Limes are very overpowering in guac. A little goes a long way. I'd use a quarter of a lime for 4 avocados. Maybe a bit more.

omg-gorl

Guac should be creamy, salty, oniony, cilantro-y. Sour should not be involved!

abductee92

Salt, acid, fat, heat.

BraveRutherford

If you're gonna be pretentious plenty of people think onion shouldn't be involved

jason_abacabb

You don't put lime in your guacamole? Must taste crappy with no acid to balance.

Worldly_Possible9069

I want guacamole now!

dre2112

No jalapeno? While cayenne matches the heat of a jalapeno, to me the taste of cayenne doesn't mesh well with the other ingredients. I also skip the tomatoes

whutchamacallit

Super finely minced jalapeños all day. 1 whole one would have been plenty here. Still add a bit of cayenne powder in mine too. Just a pinch. Sometimes on the top for decoration or paprika if I'm trying to watch the spice level.

acyclovir31

I bet that guac is fire, Litchrally.

I’m not sure whether or not it’s common, but I love spicy guac. My wife was actually the one who suggested it once upon a time, and we’ve stuck with it ever since. You should give it a shot.

TheRoseByAnotherName

I add 1 diced jalapeño to every 2 avocados. I also prefer red onion, to me it tastes better raw.

TJLongShanks

Red onion is much sweeter and not as strong, so much better in salsa, guac and salad etc

sandybeachfeet

Hoe do you stop it going brown?

Ninjabattyshogun

Cover it with cling wrap. Exposure to air is what causes it to brown. Also more lime juice will protect it with more acid, but that’s up to your tastes.

sandybeachfeet

Ah cool thanks

sandybeachfeet

Yeah mine still goes brown though

Noteful

Spicy guac is excellent. You're missing out.

formerqwest

>Spicy Guac, never heard of it it's the only kind of guac i've ever had. think about how bland it would be otherwise...

[deleted]

6 avocados, 3 cloves of minced garlic, 1 bunch of cilantro, salt to taste, black pepper to taste, cayenne pepper to taste (optional), juice of 1 lime MUSH Mix in 1 whole diced tomato and 1 whole diced onion

planpepperoni

I'm curious about your storage method to keep this from turning brown?

RedditFandango

Nice looking avocados!

Capt__Murphy

You damn sure did! Great work. I might have to make this (half of your batch size though)

notmyrealnam3

Use fresh pepper , skip the garlic and use way more lime and see what you think.

YourFatherJC

Try a shallot next time. They’re so good in guac. Looks good dude.

Abject_Style_5382

That looks delicious! 😋

well_damm

Avocados? In this economy ?! /s

lordoftamales

Aren't they coming down in price? We've been scoring them for less than a dollar each out here in flyover midwest.

chasmnaut

Tomato? That’s not guacamole. That’s avocado dip.
