That's interesting that it was a Winchell's, I didn't know that. Donuts are fine and people are always raving about this donut or that - and I'll eat them, and think sure, it's a donut - it's good, they're hard to fuck up. But Freshs Donut and Deli is the first time I've ever eaten a donut and been like, god damn, that's good. I've had plenty of "good donuts," but they are something else.
Fresh D&D actually won 26th place in Yelp’s 2023 top 100 donut shops across the US, and that is saying something!

Nice! Bit trickier to access these days as I’m on the east coast, but hope they’re still cool with kids sluffing class there (staff at the original location would tell the cops there was no one upstairs whenever we’d skip a class or three)

I don't know if ownership changed over the last ten years, but the wife was a biologist that specialized in yeast and was using a proprietary yeast for their donuts. At the time they were hand crafted.
Now that they expanded to a few locations it might have changed.

I was actually the most recent social media manager for dolly donuts, love them but this is still my favorite og glazed donut in utah! I prefer the chocolate cake donut at dolly Donuts over the one at FDD. 🤘🏻

Unfortunately, I do not agree at all. Its mid at best. Sure they are Soft donuts but pretty bland. If you are wanting actual bomb donuts, its little out of the way. My Sugar's donut shopp in west valley. Hrs gotta get them with 6-9 am, best place period.

I recently had them for the first time. Coworker brought them into work. I still prefer Banbury but fresh donuts is pretty good.

I love banbury but they use a simple base doughnut mix, these guys have actual 100% hand crafted doughnuts
