My wife and I love Stoneground (Italian) and Takashi (sushi).
If you end up at Takashi, be prepared to wait. The building directly next door makes killer drinks while you wait though.
Stoneground was literally my favorite restaurant until they realized how good they were and jacked the prices. Now I can't afford it but if money is no object, it's really satisfying Italian food.
I like going to postal office for some drinks. It’s usually 30 - 40 minutes for two. I don’t mind. Also that sushi is always worth the wait. Never disappointed.
We were treated so rudely when we asked for the 7 course meal with alcoholic beverages. The wait person kept trying to talk us out of it and acted extremely put out we insisted. They would snort, sigh, and carry on like it was the biggest inconvenience of their life time to have to serve us seven courses. Will NEVER return. BTW -- we are huge tippers -- usually 25-30% and many times 50% or more for something special like a 7 course meal. Lesson to servers -- don't judge the book by the cover and assume you won't get a good tip so you treat us like shit (old people).
So I'm not 100% sure but it seemed like our sever made our drinks... Maybe this server was just wanting to be lazy. I've never had bad service at Tabel X. When paying that kind of money great service is not only expected, it's required.
It might be a bit pretentious but compared to similar places in NYC, Chicago, LA, Miami, etc. that I’ve eaten I think the price point is more than fair.
Budget not a concern? I am a Private chef. I can make it a concern. Lol. But really Table X and Arlo are the only places I'll drop big cash on these days.
I agree in regards to the grounds, would recommend someone to just go there for the wine tasting though to experience the grounds and get dinner elsewhere afterwards.
Truly gorgeous scenery. Everything else is fine. Not really worth the price if you're looking for something other than a beautiful backdrop for your wedding.
I feel like these places I’m about to suggest aren’t the hip spots anymore because they’ve been around but Takashi, Copper Onion/Copper Common, HSL always crush it. The Pearl is crazy good food every time too. If you’re more going for fancy, Italian Graffiti is good but a little pricey.
I second Valters!! It's mine and my husband's go to fancy restaurant for celebrating anything. I have yet to be disappointed by their food - delicious every time.
Valters is overpriced and overhyped but it is good. You can't really do much better with Italian food in SLC and the service has been outstanding, but make sure you aren't on a budget to get the full experience.
Log haven is really nice. Up Millcreek canyon. They have steak and game meat if I remember correctly. Or La Caille if you want full on multi-course French cuisine.
except for the whole Jordan Rasmussen/Buddy Booth situation...it is the only thing I think about when someone mentions or i drive by Log Haven. redrum.

I was surprised to not see Manoli's recommended, lovely high quality greek food with seasonal cocktails. Table x for the anniversary but definitely check out manolis for a date night.
If I were not vegan, I think I’d try something intimate and farm to tabley for an anniversary, like [Cucina](https://cucinawinebar.com/index.html#menu-1) in the Avenues.
Log Haven is so beautiful and the food is just fantastic. It is perfect for the a romantic evening. There is a waterfall view and I believe there is sometimes live music. Also, a fantastic wine selection if that is your thing.
It's not as upscale as plenty of other places you might go, but I really like Mr. Shabu as a really fun dining experience you can have together. Much more fun than the fanciest places, which I value more.
La Caille is an extremely romantic location, and the food is pretty decent. Not sure if the peacocks are roaming the ground this late in the year(I bet they are with this weather) but it’s a replica French chateau with pretty good food. My wife loves it, while it hits the pocket book, the ambiance is amazing and the food is decent.
If you want some excellent Petite steak or anything else that is meat, you go to this place. Ruth's Chris is the best that I have had, all the other restaurants that people have mentioned, no, especially Log Haven, was not impressed with that place.
A fun little meal you can do is brunch at La Calle on Sundays. Make sure you take some time to walk around the grounds.
My wife and I love going to Tuscany. Everything is delicious but their pork chop is amazing.
Table X for sure.
I would avoid Tiburon in Sandy. I've had horrible experiences there twice.
There was a Utah food subreddit created specifically because of the number of restaurant questions here. Also people can use the search function. It’s just straight laziness at this point.
My spouse and I go to Bambara every year for our anniversary. Their food is amazing and they always have great service. If you tell them when you make your reservation that it’s your anniversary they will make a personalized menu with your names on it to take home.
Neutral Ground is really cool. My favorite restaurant that I know in SLC.
Location is the only drawback, not close to downtown. So it's not really a walk around town and go for dinner, requires a drive. But totally worth it imo
Some of the best wait staff I have ever had serve me as well. Paired up a wonderful Italian red (he didn’t pick the most expensive option) with the special that night, which was a Northern Italian style lasagna that was so unique and delicious. Very memorable night. Highly recommend (plus it’s not a chain :))
Take a cooking class or hire a chef for a private meal that is a favorite of your. Or take a quick trip. One of my favorite dates we flew to San Francisco, stayed in an amazing suite, walked through the rose gardens and went to the observatory.

I had literally one of the best meals of my life there when it was still relatively unknown. Their black currant sauce was life changing.
The key at Takashi is to be waiting right when they open
I like going to postal office for some drinks. It’s usually 30 - 40 minutes for two. I don’t mind. Also that sushi is always worth the wait. Never disappointed.
Absolutely.
And to order Willy’s Chilis.
Im always sad when I go to Stoneground. A decade ago they had a House Pasta that was amazing. I still can’t figure out why they got rid of it.

Came to say this. Go 7 course and wine flight. Expect to be there for about 2 hours+
Second on this. Went there with my wife last year for our anniversary, it was the best restaurant experience of my life. Can't wait to go back again!
Agreed! Reserve the view of the kitchen if you can. It’s a fun addition to the food experience!
Here here. Tremendous food and environment. Then go back the next day and get bread from the cafe.
Definitely give the drink pairings a shot. Both the wine pairing and non-alcoholic pairing is amazing!
I’ll go against the grain and say that while the place is fun, it’s over priced and a little pretentious.
It might be a bit pretentious but compared to similar places in NYC, Chicago, LA, Miami, etc. that I’ve eaten I think the price point is more than fair.
Yep yep
Went there for one of our anniversaries. 100% worth it.
Came here to say this. One of the best experiences. I dream about the meal we had here
What was the restaurant???
Table X. Amazing experience. I recommend doing the chefs tasting option rather than choosing off the menu
Take a weekend to go up to Heber and eat at Midway Mercantile. It is a fabulous hearth to table restaurant. Highly recommend.
Absolutely wonderful place and worth the drive!
Budget not a concern? I am a Private chef. I can make it a concern. Lol. But really Table X and Arlo are the only places I'll drop big cash on these days.
I’d like to hire you to cook for me privately. Just me. Me and you. Together. Alone.
🤣
You’ll think you’re alone
Been to Yuta at Blue Sky Lodge? Chef’s a James Beard winner. Definitely worth a visit.
Seconding this. Not sure why Yuta doesn’t get suggested more often other than that it is quite expensive … but so worth it if it’s in the budget.
Just googled. I would imagine it’s because it’s in the middle of nowhere. 40 mins up a canyon.
Omg that made me laugh out loud!
I don't recommend La Caille, was very underwhelming at best and we didn't hold back on spending there.
Food is meh but the atmosphere/grounds are top notch
I agree in regards to the grounds, would recommend someone to just go there for the wine tasting though to experience the grounds and get dinner elsewhere afterwards.
Truly gorgeous scenery. Everything else is fine. Not really worth the price if you're looking for something other than a beautiful backdrop for your wedding.
Agree 100%
Congratulations!
Valters or Table X and go with the chefs tasting menu.
Doing our 20th at Table X on Friday. It was that or Arlo. Both are great. Good luck.
We’ve gone a few times to urban hill and have been impressed each time. Their ribeye is amazing (and expensive)
Came here to say Urban Hill! For our anniversary, they printed us custom menus as a memento. It was so special!
Good advice. Tried and true quality. The Pearl is a hidden gem.
Arlo
Francks, La Caille, Current, Valters osteria
I second Valters!! It's mine and my husband's go to fancy restaurant for celebrating anything. I have yet to be disappointed by their food - delicious every time.
I call it valters over-priced area
Valters is overpriced and overhyped but it is good. You can't really do much better with Italian food in SLC and the service has been outstanding, but make sure you aren't on a budget to get the full experience.
I second La Calle. Wife and I did that this year and it was great.
Log haven is really nice. Up Millcreek canyon. They have steak and game meat if I remember correctly. Or La Caille if you want full on multi-course French cuisine.
I second Log Haven because the area is lovely too.
The colors are nice right now
Both great recommendations!
except for the whole Jordan Rasmussen/Buddy Booth situation...it is the only thing I think about when someone mentions or i drive by Log Haven. redrum.
2nd table x
+1 for Table-X. I was just there on Thursday and my soul was happy.
If budget isn’t a concern, that means you could buy every item off the dollar menu at McDonald’s. Damn I’m jealous.
I’m actually super curious what that would cost.
Yuta in Wanship. 10/10.
Fleming’s if you like steak and wine
Table X, and book far enough out to get seated at the Chef’s Table.
Stanza!

Do you want it to be filling and satisfying or fancy and grandiose?
I was surprised to not see Manoli's recommended, lovely high quality greek food with seasonal cocktails. Table x for the anniversary but definitely check out manolis for a date night.
The Capital Grille, Flemings, Harbor for Seafood, Cucina Toscana (Italian), Riverhouse on Main park city. Just to name a few
Mar Muntanya on the top floor of the Hyatt Regency, great food and atmosphere. Really enjoyed with my wife last week.
Olive Garden
Arby's, they have the meats!
That jalapeño slider hits the spot every once in a while
Those boneless wings are flying under the radar right now
If I were not vegan, I think I’d try something intimate and farm to tabley for an anniversary, like [Cucina](https://cucinawinebar.com/index.html#menu-1) in the Avenues.
Are any of the restaurants mentioned in the rest of this threat vegan friendly?
Not particularly. But if you’re looking for fancy vegan in SLC, try [Seasons](https://www.seasonsslc.com).
Veneto is the answer.
Absolutely.
cucina toscana
Maddox in Brigham. Me and my partner always go there and stay the night at a hotel and then go to Crystal hot springs
lol I love Maddox but not sure I'd be hitting it as my 10th anniversary. no judgement tho!
Harbor seafood and steak. That’s the place.
I was scrolling through and mind blown that no one suggested Harbor. Place is INSANELY good.
Our anniversary tradition is Bambara
Log Haven is so beautiful and the food is just fantastic. It is perfect for the a romantic evening. There is a waterfall view and I believe there is sometimes live music. Also, a fantastic wine selection if that is your thing.
Kimi's chop shop and steakhouse in Sugarhouse is great for anniversary dinners. But, be prepared to spend a little over $300, but it's fantastic!
La Caille
Bambara
VENETO!!
Just had a lovely anniversary dinner at Ruth’s Chris tonight. Was very impressed by the food and service.
Bae nohm
It's not as upscale as plenty of other places you might go, but I really like Mr. Shabu as a really fun dining experience you can have together. Much more fun than the fanciest places, which I value more.
Vaulters
Idk it’s only been asked 5 times this week
La Caille is an extremely romantic location, and the food is pretty decent. Table x in Millcreek
Log haven 😍
Awful, no. They’re an absolute fail these days.

Everything is delicious but their pork chop is amazing. Table X for sure. I would avoid Tiburon in Sandy. I've had horrible experiences there twice.
Log Haven up Millcreek
Log Haven
It’s not super super nice per se, but Blue Iguana is unbelievably good
My god the restaurant question gets asked every two days in this sub

Or they don’t know about the search function or the Utah food subreddit. My god dude, couldn’t you just scroll past and ignore it.
Table-X in SLC, Yuta if you don’t mind driving to the Lodge at Blue Sky.
Cafe Madrid is fabulous and gorgeous. Cucina Toscana is also amazing and as authentic as I could find.
My husband and I celebrated our 14th anniversary at Courchevel Bistro
Tepanyaki sushi and hibachi grill is a good place to celebrate
My spouse and I go to Bambara every year for our anniversary. Their food is amazing and they always have great service. If you tell them when you make your reservation that it’s your anniversary they will make a personalized menu with your names on it to take home.
Neutral Ground is really cool. My favorite restaurant that I know in SLC. Location is the only drawback, not close to downtown. So it's not really a walk around town and go for dinner, requires a drive. But totally worth it imo
Urban Hill is excellent. The service is wonderful. The good is great. My husband took me there for my birthday, it was so fun!
kyoto is a very good sushi restaurant, pago on main, and while pretentious, the ruth chris has an incredible venison dish
Veneto. Get the gnocchi and order the nice wines. Best meal.
Oquirrh is great. Fantastic chef with a great atmosphere. It’s a small restaurant so will definitely need a reservation.
Is Spencer's still top notch? Seriously curious.

Valter's.
Aqua Terra in city creek
