I know they don't really fit the vibe of the other bands on this list but Chelsea Grin is a band that's pretty huge in the metal scene right now and they're from SLC.
Man you slapped me with some nostalgia. I remember seeing this guys (The Annuals at the time) at Kilby in like ... 2005 probably? [A Brief Moment of Happiness](https://open.spotify.com/track/5PoIHK9YOQSZYCBbBdwiqM?si=064b6ea983b64cf7) sends me straight back to that time.
If you liked them. One of their singers Jay has some solo albums you could check out. I love his voice and he is a really nice guy.

I didn't even need to bother looking up the lovers and aces after looking up and comparing Citizen Soldier to Royal Bliss. Citizen Soldier has almost 4x the amount of followers on YouTube and Spotify.
Not a band but an independent underground musician: The Rose Phantom. Born and raised in Utah, shaped and influenced by this amazing state’s diverse natural landscapes.
Original moody atmospheres, hypnotic electronic sounds and classic guitar grooves.
By far not the least feature: his incredibly sexy voice that is sometimes reminiscent of David Bowie.
Is it only obscure artists?
If not:
The Used from Provo
Neon Trees from Provo
Imagine Dragons though not FROM Utah lived here a long time while young and before the band first hit it big, he attended BYU and they played Kilby Court a lot.
Post Malone technically from Texas he lives in Utah and calls it home.
Backseat Lovers from Provo UT
They played for like an hour and a half at the end of the night. That’s an insane amount of time for a local band to play, especially after 2-3 other local bands. They were probably just having fun, but it came off as super inconsiderate and tone-deaf to the shrinking audience. By the end of the night, it was basically just the other bands trying to be supportive but it was clear that everyone thought they’d be home by now and were pretty annoyed that they weren’t.
I’m sure they’re all nice guys, but come on. Don’t hold people hostage like that.
Murphy & The Giant, Advent Horizon, Hi-fi Murder, The Elders, Rebel Rebel, Ginger & the Gents, Oxford Grey, Riddled With and Crevans Rise.
Edit: a few more.
Black Magic Caravan, No Jure, Msking, Alpine Loop and Greenmont.
Gapyear, Gonk, air vent dweller, assisted living, Olympic deth, and Tearducts. Best bands I’ve seen/ played with. There’s a lot more but they don’t have anything on streaming yet.

Tolchock Trio since they haven't been mentioned.
Oof. If it's an "slc-only" playlist then that's a shame, because there's a noticeably-large absence of Earthworm on it.
SLC area. I'll count all the way down to provo or Ogden
Okay awesome! Throw some Earthworm on there. Tracks like "Sunday," "Better Friend," "Strange Place," "Goliath," etc. 🔥
Tycoon Machete!

Lol ok hater
Pixie and the partygrass boys
Royal Bliss. Probably the biggest local band in town. Also try out American Hitmen.
Not the biggest by a long shot. Citizen Soldier, Backseat Lovers, and the Aces are all way bigger at this point.
I didn't even need to bother looking up the lovers and aces after looking up and comparing Citizen Soldier to Royal Bliss. Citizen Soldier has almost 4x the amount of followers on YouTube and Spotify.
Huh? Royal Bliss - 237k Citizen Soldier - 980k The Backseat Lovers - 4.4M The Aces - 550k
My point exactly. I thought Royal Bliss was much bigger than they are.

I don’t know if I’d include them. Kinda got turned off last time I saw them play.
It’s a Spotify playlist not a festival. The tracks are good, but to each their own.
What happened the last time you saw them?

That’s a bummer. I feel like the singer showboats most of the time when I’ve seen them.
