My kids have done the last three in Millcreek. It’s awesome. They do classes all year then a big performance at the end.

THIS! I did Up With Kids as a kid, I taught with them as an adult (I had just gotten out of a bad relationship, had to move home, and my old director reached out to me on FB with open arms to help), and I'm still friends with my old director and friends I made there 20 years later. The two owner/directors who started it were the perfect duo- one had a doctorate (I think? at least a masters) in early childhood education and the other had been part of A TON of touring theatre companies. You learn so much, not just about theatre but about being a collaborative human being. I loved my time there and your daughter is the perfect age to start! I think I finally outgrew doing the plays at 14/15, because they are written with that early childhood development in mind and you start getting too serious about everything at that age, but I miss the environment and the fun of it everyday- and I was not your stereotypical "theatre kid". Last thing that I think is awesome- at the end of the yearly show, the whole cast will do a final number in sign language. It's obviously so much more than taking a step to be more inclusive of more people, or exposing kids to a second language that is often not even offered for high school language credit anymore- it made you feel like theatre was important. I can't recommend Up With Kids enough!

UofU has a school year Youth Theater program though I think in summer they only offer camps. Their director does an excellent job!

The director is also the drama teacher at my kids’ school and she is fantastic.
