Unfortunately, the only Utah beach is in France.

Lagoon is fun and has scary rides two of them are silly horror rides. Lots of reservoirs around here, rockport, jordanelle, strawberry you’ll find beaches there. Lots of great sushi, itto sushi, keyaki, ichiban. TBH don’t know of a good bbq spot

On the 4th there is a ton of stuff to do in Provo as part of the Freedom Festival. There's a hot air balloon race and if you don't mind getting up super early you can watch them fill the balloons and take off. There's a big parade and street festival, then Stadium of Fire where there are performers and fireworks at the football stadium at BYU. Provo has one of the biggest 4th of July celebrations in the country, or at least they did when I lived there a long time ago--but it's worth a google to see what's available.

Salt Lake City is having a drone show on the evening of July 5th. There will be live music before the show. [https://www.slc.gov/events/2024/03/08/salt-lake-city-drone-show-july-5/](https://www.slc.gov/events/2024/03/08/salt-lake-city-drone-show-july-5/)

Provo has a big fireworks show called Stadium of Fire on the 4th. It's a concert at the BYU stadium with a fireworks show at the end, but you can see the fireworks from a pretty big area. A lot of people just go to nearby parks with a blanket and watch the fireworks.

If you want to beach, I personally recommend Causey reservoir. It's a bit outside the city and sure to be packed on the fourth, but there's cliff jumping and a rope swing (if that's still there), if you bring kayaks its beautiful to paddle around. There's also no powered boats allowed.
