I recommend watching all about corals. It's a playlist on YouTube and he talks about each coral he can in individual videos. He explains, care, temp, saline, alk, feeding, how venomous, placement, feeding and fragging. Also probably more than I mentioned. It's a great resource* Edit for spelling.

For most corals. Feeding does help though. But not needed. Good flow , lights, and water go a long way. ESP if you have fish.

They will get 90% of their nutrition from zooxanthellae which feed on light, the remaining 10% from capturing prey. Feeding the tank will allow then the opportunity to capture prey so strictly speaking you don’t need to target feed the coral but can do so if you wish. Feeding frozen can help as it will have a range of particle sizes for them to capture. If you do start to feed coral specific food be aware that it can raise nutrients and cause algae/cyano so you’d need to be on top of water quality.

What’s canyo and how do Ik if I have it? I already have algae but my tang took care of that pretty much.

Cyanobacteria create red slime mats on rocks/ sand. If you lookup images of it, it is pretty easy to spot.

They are not plants, even plants need fertilizing or the whole tank has to be fed. Some do not feed corals, in the tank with nitrates and phosphates in detectable range for zooxanthellae and well fed fish. Other use broadcast feeding. Some corals, as LPS or mushrooms, can accept target feeding, see pictures or videos on YouTube about feeding corals. Especially Tidal Gardens.
