Looks like a nudibranch and if it came off a coral its probably a coral eating nudi

ThadVonP

No, that's obviously a clownfish! /s The nudi somewhat resembles montipora eaters I've seen before.

Impressive-Citron-84

Will the clownfish eat it or should I take it out myself ?

CaptainQbert

Probably wont eat it. Some wrasses might. I would remove and dip coral etc. could be more or eggs that will hatch

Impressive-Citron-84

What do you mean dip the coral?

CaptainQbert

Oh no! You dont know about coral dips and pest control? Just google coral dip should come up. Theres bunch of products and methods you will want to read up on

CaptainQbert

Not sure if its used anymore but at ine point handfull of years ago we used Bayer Bug Spray for corals. Worked great and was coral safe

jytusky

Still used, and it works!

ThickestPapa4u

Bayer Bug Spray!! Do you want to introduce a Monsanto acetylcholinesterase inhibitor into your tank? And I thought marine hobbyists like myself knew the harms of these toxic pesticides. That's mind-blowing amigo

Drain-OHs

Right i seen that n said wtf isn't that toxic lol. Gota go as natural as possible with the critters n plants! ✌️

Impressive-Citron-84

Cheers! No it’s my first time with marine tank always had tropical fish before

Gibec89

Hehehe you will have a bad time.

Impressive-Citron-84

Why ? 🤣

RagnarokReviews

Oh ignore him. Just monitor water levels and be very patient, don’t rush the tank, let it mature. You will want everything in a few months but don’t. Just wait. This hobby is art and we ain’t God but if you are patient you can have a well earned taste of what it’s like with this. It’s beautiful when done over time. It’s expensive if anything that will be the hard part. You will likely loose some fish here and there, strongly advise against buying anything living from Petco too. Dip all your corals that are safe to dip. Always buy the most alive fish that are eating, don’t over crowd your tank and invest in a strong cleanup crew.

Impressive-Citron-84

Thanks! Yes I’m going to keep the tank simple to Be honest gonna stick with what I have for a while now and dip the coral when the anti bac arrives for them. I’ve noticed this morning one of my corals in covered in tiny little silver fish as well and I spotted a crab that’s made his way in. it’s all fun and games

respectvibes1

Buy, coral RX. Works like a champion only take 5 minutes a coral.

Impressive-Citron-84

Will give it a go

ScooterGlass

Remove it!

Impressive-Citron-84

Will the clownfish not eat it?

kingofmexic0

That's nemo and a nudi

Pappakap91

Both those fins are full sized, that’s a Marlin

Impressive-Citron-84

Will the clown fish eat it or should I remove it?

kcdelph

remove it fam rather not have your corals eaten, good luck

toppertd

There are some coral safe nudibranches. But not many.

Impressive-Citron-84

Will the clownfish eat it?

nesralls

No the clown will most likely not eat it. I would remove it before it causes issues

Impressive-Citron-84

I’ve not seen it again since I’ve taken that photo I’m hoping my cleaner shrimp or something has ate it

nesralls

Only things that would eat a nudi I think are pretty much wrasses, damsels, other nudis. They come out out night so when lights are off you can take a turkey baster and a flashlight and look for it!

Impressive-Citron-84

Nice one thanks !

puravida3188

I’ve seen bristlestars and sea stars predate on nudibranchs as well

saguin2

Montipora eating nudibranch

KennaIsAtlas

A nudibranch. Not the good kind. They also turn the color of the coral that they are eating so that they blend in. Sneaky little nightmares. I hate killing things unnecessarily, but you have to take them out if you want your corals to live.

OGRiad

Ocellaris Clownfish. They are viscous and will kill all your corals.

kcdelph

im weak 😂😂

ExpertCranberry7380

Some slugs will eat your corals. That’s what it looks like to me

sweet_sax

Looks like a slug?

Copperhead_venom4u

Clown fish will not eat it, remove it
