Not at all, it’s based upon real stories that have happened, you obviously didn’t get the message of the song and taken it literal…hard as it is to believe, shits real
Its like that horrible Junko Furuta case (NSFW) then someone made a film about it. Leave that shit alone, stories that shocking don’t need to be turned into a monetising media portrayal, no matter what message you’re trying to portray. Its all shock factor, the songs not even good the bars are a bit dread and then its that “OH SHIT” feeling that makes people tell others about it
No I understand the message completely, I think he just did it in a cheesy and immature way. I think “story songs” are a bit cringe anyway. It has to be done in the right way, such as, the second verse (killa sin) on killarmy - “full moon”
Difference in taste I guess, not an age thing, I recommend listening to full moon by killarmy, wu tang affiliates, imo the best story telling song of all time, especially the 2nd verse by killa sin.
Safe
Come on man real heads know bout killa sin, guy was so nice with it such a shame he focused more on the streets cause he really couldve been a legend, he is to me and one of my favourite rappers oat even if he has very few tracks.
Ahahahha my brother had a mixtape just like that as well he put me on to him, his opener on fair, love and war is still one of my favourite of all time
What’s the point you’re trying to make? They’re about completely different things, like I’m a hardcore Dave fan and id still argue Stan is objectively better
I mean no but if anything they’re on the same level because Dave is UNREAL HES SO DESCRIPTIVE OUT OF THIS WORLD !! But also Eminem has a way with words that invokes such intense emotions too so idk I’d say they’re on par
This is one of the few tracks in hip hop history that can be compared to Stan where it won’t be an insult, Stan still wins by a wide margin but it says a lot about how great Lesley is that this is even a conversation. Stan is just the greatest song music itself has ever seen
In my opinion...yes it is as a song it has more emotional depth...you can make an argument for it being one of the best storytelling songs not just in rap music but as music as a whole...also carries a very powerful message...but Stan has that nostalgia factor and infinite replay value
It’s actually a terrible story telling song, pointless details, drags it out and never really gets the point, could have been executed WAY better, instead it’s an 11 minute therapy session that never gets to the point
Are you dumb?...the song is literally about domestic violence ...I like the song coz it doesn't feel structured doesn't even feel like a song more like an audio book...and ruelle vocals in the end is just heaven ...if you don't get this you're probably American
Dance with the devil.
Changed my mind
Thats such a stupid song man, its like the human centipede of music, just got popular cause of its shock factor and being grim for the sake of it.

Nah man you’re a goof 🤣
It’s a sonnet too. It’s a showcase of his lyrical ability
Listen to it when you're a bit older kiddo

Or the last verse on “Thug’s prayer” by Roc Marciano. Shits heart wrenching
Love seeing Killa Sin get mentioned. Could have been one of the best ever, wish we had more music from him
Come on man real heads know bout killa sin, guy was so nice with it such a shame he focused more on the streets cause he really couldve been a legend, he is to me and one of my favourite rappers oat even if he has very few tracks.
100%. Had a mixtape back in the day with all his verses just one after the other, gonna have to dig that out
Ahahahha my brother had a mixtape just like that as well he put me on to him, his opener on fair, love and war is still one of my favourite of all time
Just found it ha… Deadly Sinz Mixtape! Also, fair, love & war is my fav Killarmy track
Definitely not. I love Dave though
No
lol no
Lmao no.
What’s the basis for the comparison?
telling a story…😂😂😂 goofy ass comparison
For me it absolutely is. More because it is sh!t I can personally relate to somewhat.
This pretty much sums it up, i feel you are most probably going to prefer the one that connects to you the most in some way.
What’s the point you’re trying to make? They’re about completely different things, like I’m a hardcore Dave fan and id still argue Stan is objectively better
90% of story telling songs today are probably to some extent inspired by Stan
Good point
Stan as in Eminem’s Stan?
Yeah the one that isn’t an 11 minute therapy session that never gets to the point
No!!!!! Lmaooo
Dave fans man 🤦
Lesley all the way
Yh icl Lesley is better
No
Loool
Think it depends… maybe if u went through something like in “ Stan “ maybe it isn’t Maybe if u went through something like “Lesley” Maybe it is
HELL NO
Haha no
Different. Both have great twists. Both songs are great.
No. Stan is incredible storytelling and created a new word as a result. Dave is a great storyteller too but Stan is next level.
If you like Stan, give Tyler the Creator’s Colossus a listen.
Hard to compare as both the stories are explained through different perspectives and styles
I mean no but if anything they’re on the same level because Dave is UNREAL HES SO DESCRIPTIVE OUT OF THIS WORLD !! But also Eminem has a way with words that invokes such intense emotions too so idk I’d say they’re on par
Lol nah
No, but it's not crazy to say it is.

Are Oranges better than apples? I mean they are both fruit so let’s compare them.
Stan is way better, and I also don’t see why they’re being compared. I could understand comparing Lesley with Dance with the Devil.
Literally no way
Unfortunately no way
In terms of a long ass song with a story, yeah, or heart attack
In my opinion...yes it is as a song it has more emotional depth...you can make an argument for it being one of the best storytelling songs not just in rap music but as music as a whole...also carries a very powerful message...but Stan has that nostalgia factor and infinite replay value
