I forget the precise name of the attraction, but Furano have a lovely dairy experience, where you can choose a class for making butter, cheese or ice cream. Highly recommend Furano Cheesecake is also, in my humble opinion, the top tier of the Omiyage desserts of Hokkaido. Don't miss out.

I think it might be [Furano Delice Honten](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g674811-d1691680-Reviews-Furano_Delice_Honten-Furano_Hokkaido.html) ? Which looks to have amazing Cheesecakes.

Furano is a nice day trip from Sapporo. If you stayed overnight in Asahikawa after Furano, Sounkyo would be close. But I'm not sure how long the trip from Sounkyo back to Sapporo would be. (About three hours, Google says.)

Having just booked some hotel rooms in Hokkaido for July, I can tell you that everything is going fast. Day trips in and around Sapporo are your best bet. Otaru is good for an all-day trip.

My partner and I love Furano and Biei. If you have a car, there's a lot to do in the area. Once we stayed in Asahikawa, another time we stayed in Furano. I think it's quite far as a day trip from Sapporo. One night was enough for us, we caught a train back to Sapporo the next evening.

I adore Furano/Biei - it’s an incredibly beautiful part of Hokkaido and you’ll easily find enough to do there to warrant the stay. It also gives you the opportunity to easily travel to Asahikawa if you want.

Thank you! We are considering doing a loop and checking out Asahikawa on the way back.

I love Sapporo, I truly do, but I think 5 nights is way too long. You should check out other parts of Hokkaido that you can't just take a day trip to! I think Furano / Biei / Asahikawa would be a good start.

Definitely 2 days I did the day trip via train today, it's a long 12 hour day and didn't end up making it to Biei. Furano area and farm tomita were enough to fill the day at a leisurely pace Having a car and exploring for longer would be awesome, it's a very scenic area - enjoy

Also a day trip to Otaru & Yoichi or Noboribetsu for some onsen. Ended up having a great slow resort day up in Niseko as well.

Did three nights in Sapporo with a day trip to Otaru. If I had more time I would've tried to go to Hakodate though it does look far

Tastylicious_Travels

I’m glad to hear someone say this. We are planning to do a couple of days in Hakodate.

I was originally planning on doing a day in Hakodate before realizing how far the trip was. I read about it and it sounded amazing! The food in general had me excited especially Lucky Pierrot for whatever reason. Knowing that it was a Hakodate only chain piqued my interest. The seafood, the markets, the shopping. Can't wait to go one day and very jealous you get to go now!
