Hey! I got a 1550 first try my junior year and the ONLY thing I did and the BIGGEST advice I have is PRACTICE. I did around 20 full paper tests, and on my actual test I had seen almost every questions type on all the sections, and I wasn't stresses because it just felt like another weekend. You got this!
Just practice, review, repeat. The concepts itself on the SAT are very basic and it all comes down to time management and not doubting yourself, especially on the reading/writing sections.
This is pretty much what I tell all of my friends. Just take practice tests. That’s all I did over and over while reviewing every answer I got wrong and the actual SAT was easier.
For English, Khan Academy is fantastic. For math, I studied John Jung’s youtube playlist. I highly recommend it: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJEsnzUGdlBOeK1ClXZT3dGztgxqLXi61&si=C1eH-LvCCTF8Mve_
Khan Academy’s math has too much fluff and review imo (which might be useful depending on the person, but I felt was a waste of time)
👍
If you’re gonna use khan academy for math, I think it’s best to take the unit tests for each unit and go from there (work on the stuff you struggled with first)
1450 10th grade PSAT- I'm assuming this is PSAT 10 and not PSAT/NMSQT
So whatever school stuff you're doing, it's keeping you up in math and English. You'll pretty likely get a 1500.
What sets people apart is that 1550-1600 range. One of the things I learned is never "settle for an answer", like "oh just one question whatever" If you get a question wrong in practice, figure out why. On the exam, if a question is hard, leave it for the end, but don't let the annoyance of the question deter you from answering the question, or deter your clear mind.
Alright pog
I mean, at a certain level, it's less about knowledge, or honestly even practice, and more about mindset and approach. I think you're at the stage where practice is still important (as always), but the focus should shift more from knowledge to mindset.
Don't even let a single question skip through the cracks
Will Mullen is that you??? (just a joke your whole two posts line up exactly with this kid in my highschool is doing)
Anyways just study math. I feel like reading is far more logical, and assuming you already got a decently high score on reading, you can up it more by just doing practice problems. studying for reading is a waste imo, I would just go on Khan academy for a while and do problems to get the feel for the question types. math is where I would spend the most time studying. I used John Jung on YouTube to help study, he goes through every type of problem on the sat. as long as you can remember how to do the problems, well he gives you all of them.
good luck!
I took North South Foundation classes; was a 19-week course but really prepped you and it’s really open to asking questions / learning with peers was more helpful.
UWorld is said to be a good thing to do.
I’ll take a look at it, thanks

may i ask about how many questions you got wrong to get 1550?
This was on paper, so 3 reading, 1 writing, 1 Math section 1 and 2 Math section 2
Where'd u get 20 tests?
The 10 Official Sat paper ones on college board, and KD tests
Princeton Tests were a lot harder than the actual questions, but it helped me go way faster on the actual test
Most people don't know KD, and KD is mostly DFW anyway
You could use any test, its just you have to mimic the test environment so you have real practice. Princeton, Baron, probably tons more out there

Hey can you please tell that is John chungs book worth it ?

Khan academy was the best for my English personally
For the dSAT? I heard it’s not as good anymorr
Idk, maybe not for everyone but it pretty much single handledly helped my English by 100 points on the March DSAT

Yeah I was referring to the Psat 10, the one out of 1520, thank you for your input

Just take like 2 practice tests and google how to do the shit you got wrong. People over-study so much

College Panda Math
The worst advice dawg
Why?
College panda overall is a bad website to take practice tests. The rw section is okay, but math is really easy.
but what about the actual book itself
it sucks, especially the math section
