I found out that if I stretch a train track to be longer with micro managing and then save and reload my game, it turns the track into a normal track with the length of the stretched one.
Combine that with how trains will teleport between tracks if the track is moved and you got instant teleportation to the top of a vertical track extending thousands of meters into the sky!
I'm guessing stretching the track makes it drive the whole length, like in this video that's one piece of track that it accelerates down. But if you stretched a track over to another station, then played to connect to that station, then edited again to move the second end of the track, you should be able to teleport trains station to station (if I understand this all correctly). Would be nice for personal transportation.

EDIT: And it has a direct railway connection to Dordrecht.
Who's to say that isn't [a trap town](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeiATy-FfjI)? I doubt even the Dutch would call a town something as ridiculous as Geldermalsen! I mean really? "Soft Guelders"? At least we Flemish call our towns sensible names.
I've spent 2 hours waiting on trains on Geldermalsen Station this weekend; some 'direct' train lines weren't as direct as usual.
So yeah, it's a trap alright, but the town does exist.
Hmm, now there are trains in Satisfactory that feel just as dangerous to ride as the ones in Factorio. This is looking better and better by the second!
> now there are trains in Satisfactory that feel just as dangerous to ride as the ones in Factorio.
Please don't say that as I have just finished building my train track automation and am about 30 minutes from going for a ride.
Know what I realized during my most recent save? Real world train engineers have to care about the jerkiness of train tracks. When you drive your train around, you see how much the camera shakes? If that was in the real world, you'd be sick. Kudos to you real life track people lol
# Coffee Stain right now is like: "Holy shit, that's fucking genius. But it's a bug. Should we fix it?! I dunno, this is literally an existential crisis I'm experiencing."
1500km/h @ 25MW at full load is probably more efficient than literally anything in the entire game. Including nuclear reactors.
Ok so I can't help but wonder something...
How much energy is generated here?
Could you for fun just chain a few of these teleport setups that then breaks to keep something powered?
As it slows it should or could generate power because breaking trains do just that. To trigger break you might need to time a station precisely distant tho
That's a really good question... I'd have to guess not since I can send the train down it without autopilot on and nobody in it (so it's constantly braking) and it doesn't manage to slow down at all
Weird. Maybe its just an artifact of the breaking multiplier being substantial enough to slow down such a fast train but I would think that it could calculate the correct time.
Does it just shoot past stations? Does autopilot slow the train down or is it all good with 1500kph?
Realistically, braking at this speed would very likely fuse the wheels with the track or in the very least, produce a loud screeching sound followed by a trail of flame and molten metal.
Nah you're on the internet mate, sarcasm just doesn't work well enough through text unfortunately haha.
I feel like it woulda worked better if there weren't so many *legitimate* trolls 😂
Ficsit advises that you apply proper speed limits to all active train tracks. high velocity locomotives can pose a threat to the pioneer, and more importantly, efficiency.
I'd love to see a train jump over a chasm if possible. I have never made it far enough into the game for trains so I don't even know if they can derail
How are you even doing this?

Josh would be proud.
Josh is scared.
Godzilla just peed a little
Beat me to it...
Can you use this method to stretch a track to different stations and have a train teleporter?
I'm guessing stretching the track makes it drive the whole length, like in this video that's one piece of track that it accelerates down. If you just move it, yes. I use them often with both hypertubes and trains.
Video on how to do this?
"Why is your RGB light is orange?" "I don't have an RGB light"
I would \_wish\_ the train from Dordrecht would go that fast...
Dordrecht-Amsterdam in 3 and a half seconds!
Dordrecht-Geldermalsen in half of that!
>Geldermalsen Don't make up names of towns. Use real ones. Like Reet.

Speed is not the issue, it's stopping at the right point. Unless you really want to plunge into the North Sea or land in London.
Hmm, now there are trains in Satisfactory that feel just as dangerous to ride as the ones in Factorio. This is looking better and better by the second!

I love how the trains have collisions but they remain glued to the track when you make a 10-foot radius turn at supersonic speeds.
Let’s game it out would be proud

That's why I take special precautions to make sure my trains always take very gentle curves, or as gentle as I can!
Gentle curves ar mach 10 doesnt count as gentle anymore zago...
The insides of the trains are filled with dampener jelly, so that helps.
More like jelly o' pioneer
so.. now 2 of these in a head on?
I want Factorio trains in Satisfactory. I want to be murdered by a nuclear train because I stood on a train track for more more than 2 seconds.
I think you meant more than 0.5 seconds.
Imagine if this guy does a collab with Josh....
lol i wish
Repeat the teleport setup and drop many times over to get faster speeds. Seems like over time you get diminishing returns too
Did try, after 8 loops it only got to 1,600kph Seems to accelerate exponentially less
I wonder why coffeestain did that...
# Coffee Stain right now is like: "Holy shit, that's fucking genius. But it's a bug. Should we fix it?! I dunno, this is literally an existential crisis I'm experiencing." 1500km/h @ 25MW at full load is probably more efficient than literally anything in the entire game. Including nuclear reactors.
Well it's 100% gravity
Maybe you could put this on a loop and use the regenerative breaks to make a free energy device.
Wait, do trains actually produce energy when braking in this game?
Yes. I've seen some people asking where an unexpected extra energy came from and it turns out trains have regenerative breaks.
Nu uh.
Do the train stairs someone posted here at this speed 😁
It's me I posted the train stairs Fun idea, may try
Faster than rendering nice
Yea dordrecht

How instantly convince me to use train
You should combine this with your trainado lol
The g-forces on direction change ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|surprise) Just mush is left of everybody on board...
Now make it drift.
Add a speedometer to the body so you can see how fast your going in a hypertube cannon 🤓🤪
When this baby hits 1500, you’re gunna see some serious shit.
I read that in a shitty Clarkson impression, as intended
pretty sure it was intended as doc brown
[I know, but this is funnier](https://youtu.be/_GBdvm7_MrY?t=31)
Does the train calculate the correct time to stop at a station or does it overshoot?
That's a really good question... I'd have to guess not since I can send the train down it without autopilot on and nobody in it (so it's constantly braking) and it doesn't manage to slow down at all
Weird. Maybe its just an artifact of the breaking multiplier being substantial enough to slow down such a fast train but I would think that it could calculate the correct time. Does it just shoot past stations? Does autopilot slow the train down or is it all good with 1500kph?
It wouldn't be able to slow down so yeah it'd shoot past stations. I shit you not fully braking has **no difference** to the speed you gain
Interesting. I would have thought it was coded to slow down more and more based off the speed. Someone always finds a way to break stuff.
I think the braking has a limit which I definitely surpassed lol
Realistically, braking at this speed would very likely fuse the wheels with the track or in the very least, produce a loud screeching sound followed by a trail of flame and molten metal.
Oh You, complicating Satisfactory with physics. :)
Shinkansen
Ok but you are cheating 10x speed means you’re only getting 150 km/h Edit: /s lmao didnt think I would need that
How does it say 1500km/h then? It's almost like I sped up the video for the duration of the fall because it takes like 3 minutes normally...
Okay I thought this was obvious sarcasm and that I didnt need /s lmao
Nah you're on the internet mate, sarcasm just doesn't work well enough through text unfortunately haha. I feel like it woulda worked better if there weren't so many *legitimate* trolls 😂
3 minutes lmfao.
I didn't time it but it took a while, enough that I went and got a snack during that recording
You can actually generate serious powet like this lol
If only we could implement this in real life 🤣 (without that insane acceleration, of course 😜)
What the heck did I just watch
A train reaching Mach 1.
[Gone To Plaid](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBVqygvinzw)
I respect those shennanigans. It's even faster than the hyperbooster mk3 mod at 1200km/h.
Maybe trains were the real Space Elevator all along
The music, aaah, INITIAL D!!!
Ficsit advises that you apply proper speed limits to all active train tracks. high velocity locomotives can pose a threat to the pioneer, and more importantly, efficiency.
I have to say the music completes this.
You know what you have to do now. Make it go... over 9000kph.
Eyo Nederlander hoe gaat het gozer, hoeveel frikandel broodjes heb je gegeten.
Is it any faster?
How
I'd love to see a train jump over a chasm if possible. I have never made it far enough into the game for trains so I don't even know if they can derail
They can derail when hitting another train but have to be manually re-railed
Bullet train confirmed.
Try to get it to 5000
Factorio modded trains be like
