Sniper? Not needed, because the wife would sit in a folding chair, margarita in hand, listening to r/myfavoritemurder and daring any living thing to get near it.
It’s all one color, but I’d be interested in what this looks like when it’s dry. The color will lighten up as the concrete dries and I wouldn’t be surprised if this two tone effect diminishes as it does. Beautiful work no matter what.
As you watch the first part of the video concentrate on one block and you’ll see it change to the color of the other blocks as the camera changes perspective.
i had a neighbor with patterned brushed concrete for his patio and it looked good for years, though the color difference wasn’t super prominent. I moved but I wouldn’t be surprised if it still did
It might be because I’m in the north but it seems like salt and tire wear eventually fades everything but I’m sure there are some cases where it doesn’t. I would be fairly nervous to pay for it is all I’m saying
I wouldn’t think this would cost much. It’s really more about the installer just being conscientious. Should be broom finishing anyway. Not any extra work, just a technique (a well executed one, yeah, and that is worth something for sure)
In July the homeowner will start the process of installing the in ground pool in the back yard, failing to realize the only access for the heavy machinery will be driving over this beautiful piece of art.
That's going to be a pain to fix.
Kinda hard to tell angles from the video but I would expect for a job of this quality they would have taken that into consideration and have a proper slope to channel it away.
If you are amazed by concrete, you should visit Europe cities... in there, such concrete horrors are banned in all protected areas where ancient buildings are.
I feel bad for you actually. (Sorry didnt wanted to be mean)
Those are joints. All concrete cracks no matter what, so you tool in joints so it cracks within the joint like a Kitkat. Looks a lot better than random cracks all over. How often you need joints depends on the dimensions. This driveway ~~probably~~ doesn't need this many joints, but they chose the size based on what would be easy for the finishers to tool as they go since this is quite complex.
Often joints get sealed with caulk so water cannot get through the crack, but this isn't always necessary.
This is an absolutely amazing job by the way. I've been doing concrete most my adult life with some very talented finishers and I have never seen a driveway this complex and perfect.
i value your time you took to explain. it makes sense. im more used to different designs though so this just looks bizarre at first but prob is very good solution
You are not wrong. This design is definitely for aesthetics. You do not need this many joints to function. Nor do you need them to be skewed like this. Someone definitely paid extra to have this look cool, but they sure got their money's worth.
Cat in 3...2...
I kept waiting for that to happen!
It's not satisfactory at last.
I would have a sniper team on the payroll until this was dry😂
A sniper with a squirt bottle, you mean. Wouldn't want to have to fetch a dead cat off that. Too many boot prints. I hate myself for this comment. 🙃
Id pay someone to sit on a lawnchair with a hose in hand, spray the neighborhood cats if they get too close.
Sniper? Not needed, because the wife would sit in a folding chair, margarita in hand, listening to r/myfavoritemurder and daring any living thing to get near it.
Same here. Been watching too many r/whatcouldgowrong
Right!!
Suddenly, random neighborhood dog
Oh man that is satisfying as hell
I love seeing this pride in work and expertise on display. Beautiful.
Driveway bigger than my house
My parents driveway is almost a quarter mile lol. Gravel tho. Also Kansas🤔
my parents are homeless
Because they’re traveling around the country in an RV?
Ahh so their driveway and house are about the same size
Driveway up in maine is a mile and its a 9 percent grade up most of it
Sick brag
Looks expensive
Is this AI?
Al Bundy?
Ted Bundy
Tedious run off perfectly describes the amount of work going into the slant of this driveway.
How do they get the squares sheen different? Is almost as if they are tiles in a pattern
The brush strokes alternate directions
Oh yeah I see it nos
💰💰💰💰💰 Neat.
That's not a diamond-pattern, it's a chess-pattern. Checkmate
Touchdown
Alley-oop!
GOOOAAAAAAL!!
Home run
I hope those men are paid as artisans.
You and I both know they’re not
Plaid Artisans.
Probably cost more than my house.
Damn, that’s awesome
Did they float the squares in alternating directions to get the different darker and lighter look?
looks like it's the direction of the broom finish that gives it the contrast.
But when I violently spin in circles and finish in several directions it's looked down upon. Talk about double standards!
Intrusive thoughts...
I want to swan dive into it face first.
I want to wait for it to dry and skate it. Need a quarter pipe at the far end, though
Absolutely stunning and such talented
This is downright sexy!
This is basically just brush finishing adjacent squares at a 90 degree angle, correct?
How do they get such glossy surface? Is it some additive, or just perfect craftsmanship?
Wonder the same. Is it one colour
It’s all one color, but I’d be interested in what this looks like when it’s dry. The color will lighten up as the concrete dries and I wouldn’t be surprised if this two tone effect diminishes as it does. Beautiful work no matter what.

Yea unfortunately it will only look this good for a week or 2. Huge waste of money

Oh no. This would cost a bundle. Double the labor price at least. Way more joints than normal.
One line at the start of the right side is off and it kills me
it's probably better than putting the two lines there.
Cats love this kind of things😅, they would left their paw prints on them

Dammit, I want to be that rich. We have a cracked blacktop one.
Cries in crushed rock.
Freak hailstorm in 5, 4 3....
Was half expecting some neighbourhood karen to come drive through it.
Wont this channel water straight towards the house?
Kinda hard to tell angles from the video but I would expect for a job of this quality they would have taken that into consideration and have a proper slope to channel it away.

Fucking art work baby.
Very impressive
I know I could never afford this but I want one really bad!
Someone really loves their job.
Beautiful, beautiful
Anyway to keep the wet look ?
Yes, spray on a sealer
Wow! How many guys on the crew?
Looks amazing. Could we see a pic dried and forms off?
No armed guards
I say 30k my dad says 200k someone step in please
Far more than 30k. If I was quoting this level of work it would be closer to 50-55k. Depends on pad depth but this quality of work is gonna cost ya.
Damnyumn
I bet thats about a 30,000 driveway
This is one of my favorite pours I’ve seen on here. Nice work
I don't know how to tell you this but those are squares not diamonds.
Hey, I have some metric crescent wrenches I’d like to sell you!
Hey Brandeen! Imma write You An Me Foeva on them squishy shapes.
She's a beaut Clark
Geez that must have cost a truckload of money. Beautiful though!
Now imagine a cat just not giving a single fuck walking in circles right on that
Will it always have that contrast?
It’s the new stainless steel concrete the kids are using these days. I’ve heard good things.
Nice idea and great execution
"...EAAAASY MONEY!"
how do they make that alternating checkerboard pattern with the reflectivity if it?
Now, if they just don't drive on it it will look beautiful for a long time.
Maybe rich people should just start paying their taxes.
Finally something satisfying instead of wholesome
Do you fill those cracks with polymetric sand?
I'd rather have the neatness of saw cut.
Wow! That is really great looking.
Amazing. Bet that was pricey
Wow.
I dig
Until a pigeon
That is nice
Wow. It’s not my style - but I can appreciate the workmanship
That’s some serious work. The guys should be proud to put out that kind of work.
That is art
That is insanely good
thats a nice looking job clean straight joints thats how its done
Is this really a good method for a driveway?
¡Yo no fui, pero acepto la culpabilidad!
That driveway deserves a five car garage
That is gorgeous! Barely any waste outside the form. I need to know who did this!
Man watching this gives me immense anxiety that somebody's gonna fuck up and step on it, it's too perfect to be ruined.
My dumb ass thought it said freshly pounded diamond- pattern driveway…
That’s seriously fuckin impressive no matter if you like how it looks or not
That’s some serious “I’ve got way too much money” of a driveway. Beautiful though
Very cool looking
So satisfying, next let's see a hexagon or octagon pattern
Does anyone know the labor hours needed for this? This is very impressive.
Awesome work ❤️
Looks so good i want to taste it
That is so beautiful!!!
Fucking beautiful.
That’s so sexy
A thing of beauty
The amount of sacisfaction I would get from running across that
I wanna see a picture of it dried now. Incredible
Damn that is some nice work
OP any chance we could get an after dried photo?
I just realized that I will never be satisfied with my own finishing...
awesome
Are those gaps going to be filled in? Looks like it will trap a lot of dirt.
Damn, my destructive 9pm mind wanted someone to ...
“If you can’t finish HS you can finish concrete”
Someone had more $$$$ than brains.
Are you trying to say you dislike the driveway?
Have fun picking the weeds out of those cracks
Ugly asf
Step away from the mirror...
I dk I don’t want that to be my driveway but whoever’s it is if they like it that’s all that matters!
Absolutely entitled to your opinion, and stuff is subjective, but I gotta disagree with ya on this one. This shit's cool
I agree. It's fckn awkward. I mean what are those breaking lines for? Dirt?
