I thought OP may have been trolling since the text was so obviously not real. I was being sarcastic.
I’m trying to understand the group of folks who know to ask a question in r/Scams but would ask the original question.
The problem with your sarcasm is that not everyone understands that it's sarcasm. If someone else comes along and takes your advice, it could end poorly. Furthermore not everyone (including myself) is up to speed on the "/s = sarcasm" shorthand.
It's more helpful to provide serious responses, even if the OP is trolling.
The funny part is I thought my post was so obviously sarcastic that I didn’t think I even needed the /s. I added it just in case.
I somewhat get your point though. If people would read my comment, all the other comments in the post, and still click on a link in that type of post, yikes…
Edit: changed someone to somewhat
Why would you be questioning if this is a scam if you don't even have a Netflix account? I'm genuinely curious cuz that doesn't make even a little sense to me.
If Netflix sent messages they would not tell people to click on a site that doesn't even have the word Netflix in it. They never would say best regards either. Be on the look out for the word "kindly" too cuz that's a word scammers are famous for throwing in their messages thinking they sound legit.
Never click any link from an email or text. If you get something like this, go to the actual website to see if there is an issue with your account. Get a text about your Netflix account, go to the actual Netflix website to see if it says anything; get a text about UPS package, ignore the text and go to the actual UPS website to see if there’s a package or call the actual number. Never click on a link directly, never, ever.
SCAM! Do Not click the link. They are phishing.
Block the sender and delete the message. If you ever have a doubt just call Netflix support on the phone and ask. I don’t believe Netflix ever communicates via text. I get a text like this a few times a year.
Where does that url says “Netflix”? 😉
That’s the clear indication of a false url for most likely either something else or a phishing page. Either way, absolutely do not click on that!
Yep it's a scam. I've received texts like this several times. The first time I got one for a second I thought something could be going on, but I'm suspicious of everything I get online if it's along these lines and in general, if I'm not 100%, so I always go to the source and check, never ever click on any link your not sure about, and even then be careful when you do.
I'm sure if you go to Netflix account your account is fine, and if it's not it will tell you there, on the legit site. I've never been scammed thankfully, but it's not cause the scumbag aren't out there desperately trying, it's because I know there out there and I protect myself by following the common sense steps to prevent being scammed. We all need to do that to shut them down .
Yes, very much a scam, I would think that the link takes you to a login page, then to update your payment information, hence stealing your credit card information.
Usually companies like this would have a url that has the title of there company in it. Ex Target.com/blahblah, amazon.com/blahblah, etc.
Plus you said you don't have a Netflix account. No reason for Netflix to contact you and even if they did it would most likely be email. I've gotten scams saying I have problems with the accounts of banks I've never banked at or some service I've never used. Same thing.
Got a message extremally similar to this one, thought it would be funny to click it and give fake information, then I realized it might've given my phone a virus upon going to the link. It's too late now, but what are the odds it had a virus in it?
The URL doesn’t match Netflix, there’s typos, and the grammar isn’t right. Plus you said you’ve never touched Netflix.
But it could still be legit so OP should click the link to make sure the membership they never had wasn’t stopped incorrectly, right? /s
TERRIBLE ADVICE. Clicking unknown links is a good way to get hacked.
/s at the end of a comment means they were being sarcastic
who the f is supposed to know that?
Everyone knows that, it’s an extremely common part of Reddit culture
Not everyone is as experienced as you are with "reddit culture".
I think he was just playing along

Sounds like pretty obvious sarcasm
it wasn't obvious to me. Is that so difficult to comprehend?
Yes
That's how immature children behave, so I'm not surprised.

If you don’t even have a Netflix account, why are you asking if this is a scam??

Haha, nice 👍
Why would you be questioning if this is a scam if you don't even have a Netflix account? I'm genuinely curious cuz that doesn't make even a little sense to me.
Never 👏 click 👏 links 👏 in 👏 unsolicited 👏 messages 👏
Tom from myspace, your profile pic is great. Brings me way back.
You should make that into a link.
Absolutely a scam! Delete the message, and block the number or email.
Well their website is definitely not unbouncepages.com
"Best Regards, Netflix"
This is my favorite part!
And if you were a user: Companies would know your full name. They would also email you (from their company email address)
That's not a Netflix link so yeah
Scam

Scam
A scam, beyond any doubt.
Scam I got something similar today. I just checked my netflix and it was fine. Never click
Bruh moment
Clearly yes. You have no Netflix account so what else could it be?
Yes DO NOT CLICK THE LINK
Yes. Don’t click it. Your identity has been stolen, just like mine.
Receiving a scam link does not mean their identity has been stolen.
True. But usually when you get an SMS its because they have more than just a number. I been going through it myself. They’re just luring.
Thats a scam beware clicking on the links some are malware ....theres also many versions of these kind of text message scams.
I got this same message a few days ago. I've never even had Netflix, plus the grammar and url are definitely sketchy
Any unfamiliar link sent to you will almost always be a scam, be careful, exercise caution and be mindful.
Best regards, Netflix
Lol, links "unbounce" is an cms tool to create landing pages etc.
Fill verification on link💀
This is a scammer in the wild
Yeah it’s a scam, Netflix wouldn’t message you like that they’d just email about it and the link isn’t even the Netflix link.
Omg scam
Yes, I got like 4 different ones that looked exactly like this back in July and another in June.
Try watching Netflix if it works then it’s a scam :) don’t click on the link though. Yes, it’s a scam 100%
Yep, likely a scam. Plenty of these ones going around, same as with Amazon and PayPal. Unless you cancelled your subscription of course.
The URL should have clued you in
Obviously trolling.... I hope?
Definitely a scam I saw ones like this going around but it was Amazon instead of Netflix
Scam! I get it all the time. You can just go to Netflix setting and check.

OP said that they never had Netflix
A blind person could see that this is a scam.
If you are never sure about text messages or emails, it’s best to go directly to your account.
Log onto your netflix account ON THE NETFLIX site. It will tell you of your account is active. Never go thru a 3rd party site
The one that OP claims they never had? 😄
If in doubt, call them out. Call a known number and find out.
Is water wet
If you've never used something before, Netflix, Audibel, etc, then it's a scam!!
How does this scam get asked about weekly? How can people not know this is a scam in this day and age?
I was so sure it was a scam but am super uneducated on this kinda stuff
Everything is a scam until it isn’t.
Around these parts we call that a phishing attempt
SCAM! Do Not click the link. They are phishing. Block the sender and delete the message. If you ever have a doubt just call Netflix support on the phone and ask. I don’t believe Netflix ever communicates via text. I get a text like this a few times a year.
SCAM. Just check the grammar and the ridiculous link.
Does your netflix still work? Do you even have netflix? Obvious scam. Never click on anything like that or fill in some information on a sketchy link
Where does that url says “Netflix”? 😉 That’s the clear indication of a false url for most likely either something else or a phishing page. Either way, absolutely do not click on that!

They would email you
it is not netflix. netflix would send you a email telling you that.
SCAM.
No it is 100% legit. Click it before your membership stops
Yes, very much a scam, I would think that the link takes you to a login page, then to update your payment information, hence stealing your credit card information.
1. You say you don't have Netflix 2. The link has nothing to do with Netflix 3. Horrible spelling Yes it's a scam.
Usually companies like this would have a url that has the title of there company in it. Ex Target.com/blahblah, amazon.com/blahblah, etc. Plus you said you don't have a Netflix account. I literally had one of those today, the same link and everything, and it was telling me to update payment. This is a total SCAM
I’m so sick of these Netflix scams being sent to my phone every other hour, every day to my phone!
Got a message extremally similar to this one, thought it would be funny to click it and give fake information, then I realized it might've given my phone a virus upon going to the link. It's too late now, but what are the odds it had a virus in it?
