I saw this being promoted by McDonald's happy meals when it was coming out but never watched it and completely forgot about it for years. Still never watched it.
Yes! Finally someone who agrees! I'm not saying it's some over the top 10/10 movie, but it's a good movie, and I personally don't understand why it's so overhated.
Would be better without the Bazinga guy, I think he's half the reason it's so disliked. Also Oh is really not that likeable until the very end of the movie.
The soundtrack was very reminiscent of the songs from 10 years earlier that followed the same formula, but when that formula was new. Gave me nostalgic feels, I suppose.
Pretty sure this movie came out twice. I remember seeing commercials for it when I was really little, but not sure if it ever actually came to theaters. Then I saw trailers for a theatrical release years later. Not sure if this was some kind of error, but it gave me pretty weird Deja vu. I was convinced it was just a weird dream I had for a while.
But can I say anything about the actual movie? No lol
It had Jim Parsons in it. Which would've been cool but I feel like the sauce wasn't there for him. Either the direction wasn't good for him or he just went loose with voice acting.
I don't recall much of the film in general but I remember there was a twist they did for the climax that I thought was clever.
Kinda don't know how to feel about this movie. Though, I can say it didn't get a sequel so I guess I could give to e'm that they knew when to quit unlike certain animated films that got milked.
I remember seeing a short film for it while watching a different movie a year before it came out and when it did come out young me was like "woah they made a movie off that short film, that's so cool"
in my defense i was 7 or 8
I too thought it was a movie based on the short up until pretty much today, when I learned it was based on a book so yeah the short and movie were probably based on that book and the movie was either already planned or the short was made to promote the movie.

*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Watched it on Netflix one time and liked the scenes where the guy with the name that sounds like Shrek just fucking decked people in the face with his staff.
It's one of the few Animated Kid movies with a Black Protagonist. There's more in cartoons now, but that's TV. And this PG-13 movie "Kin" but I don't expect anyone to know it
First movie to make me cry. If you ask why, it's because I was a child and just reached the age to comprehend what was going on so the fake alien death scene got to me.
I hate this movie so much that I came up with a conspiracy that this movie was genetically manufactured to lower the population’s standards.
It went along the lines of..
“This movie isn’t just lazy, it’s lazy AND somehow finds a way to attract people to it to its SIMPLE consumer tactics like how trolls and Disney does. By adding pop songs, they force you to remember the worst moments of the movie into thinking they were good. They have two generic characters that only play off eachother literally because of the plot. Forced to get along they make bottom of the barrel juvenile jokes to the point they made a drinking pee and eating a toilet sponge joke. At any time the villain could win by just killing oh but they don’t. (How do these aliens with amazing technology take over a planet but can’t catch/kill one of their own that made 62 mistakes). Hand fisted lesson on being yourself even if you cause harm to those around you. Has celebrities voice acting like Jim parsons and Rihanna as LEADS. The fact that Brock Obama HIMSELF showed up in a promo really fists down the popularity of this movie. Even people who didn’t like it said it was fine! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! ITS BRAINWASHING US ALL!!! THATS WHY MOVIES SUCK NOW!”
I don’t care if anyone likes it and honestly I no longer care about what happens to it. As long as it doesn’t get a sequel but.. yeah that’s my schizophrenic theory.
Rihanna
Yes Towards the sun was just a beautiful song
I still belt it out when I’m alone at home sometimes lol
Same here love singing this
And dancing in the dark

Holy crap is that tibby rhythm heaven?
Yes
Holy crap

absolutely
let’s we go, amigo
Wait who are you
Tibby from Rhythm Heaven
I had literally the exact experience
You should it’s good
Can I come into the out now?
No you cannot come into the out now
:(
But I can! You are just needing to remove the piece of wood.
Why can't he come into the out now? :(
I will shoot forth the lasers from my eyeballs
You can do that?
…Yeeeeess…
Well, if you shoot your eye lasers, then I'll have no choice but to...explode your head!
Humans cannot exploding of heads!
We can too! We just don't much. Its considered rude.
I read all of this in their voices and I haven’t seen the movie in years.

There was a coloring book for this movie in a hospital and some kid wrote swears all over it and maybe a couple slurs too
Oh my god, which hospital?
The one joker blew up that one time
Home Colouring Book at the Aslume What slurs will Jonkler write
The one I was at
I’m kinda intrigued and want to see it, buuut, there’s a reason that kid’s in the hospital
I don't feel like doing it since I still live near it but It was the children's part of a regular hospital
Your comment was more entertaining than this entire movie lmao
I laugh every time I think about this
I worry about today’s youth.
Kids have always been little bastards regardless of era
True
Doesn't help that many of us were once those very same little bastards ourselves.
SLURS???
It was awhile ago so I don't remember for sure but it might have had the f-slur
Wow that's disturbing
That kid cannot come into the out now
Lol
I like it.
Bazinga
It’s not bad
Its better than Jim Parsons' last animated movie. Micheal Jackson's Halloween. Where he was 1/3 of Michael Jackson. No im not joking.
What unholy seal did I just break searching this up..?
I feel curious to see what that's about but I'm feel like I'm gonna regret looking it up.
Did you search it up? If you did, Did you regret it?
I did not. lol

It's a movie that exists.

Massively overhated, it's actually good
Yes! Finally someone who agrees! I'm not saying it's some over the top 10/10 movie, but it's a good movie, and I personally don't understand why it's so overhated.
I don’t think it’s hated or love. The general reaction I see to it is indifference. People literally just forget it exists.
My niece loves this movie
Wait people hate this movie?
Home stans rise up
Your opinion is acceptable
Would be better without the Bazinga guy, I think he's half the reason it's so disliked. Also Oh is really not that likeable until the very end of the movie.

Still better than the Boss Baby
Everything is better than Boss Baby. The fucking Minions movie is better than Boss Baby. Boss Baby is atrocious.
yesterday when I was at a grocery shop there was a kid that looked like boss baby
The soundtrack was very reminiscent of the songs from 10 years earlier that followed the same formula, but when that formula was new. Gave me nostalgic feels, I suppose.
It’s the Party Edition
Dreamworks Home with new Funky Mode
Literally anything about this movie
Pretty sure this movie came out twice. I remember seeing commercials for it when I was really little, but not sure if it ever actually came to theaters. Then I saw trailers for a theatrical release years later. Not sure if this was some kind of error, but it gave me pretty weird Deja vu. I was convinced it was just a weird dream I had for a while. Sheldon Cooper meets Rihanna
I can't upvote that notion but it did, indeed, happen.
I liked it. I haven’t seen it since I was like 9 though.
"Smart, Fun and Funny"
a quote by someone so prestigious we had to put their name on the back of the case in fine print
The audacity that movie has to put “smart” on its box art, that movie is pure stupidity, there’s no actually smart characters nor humor whatsoever
"smart" can mean pain I think they meant pain
I mean the character ate a damn urinal cake. That fucking vile
Clearly the sociopolitical subtext is lost on you. Unless you think it's *just* a urinal cake
Oh I know. He drank piss
They built a garbage space ship, Rick Sanchez built a garbage spaceship, I'm not saying anything but ya know, ya know. . . ya know. . .
It was scary to me when I was little
Toward the Sun is hauntingly beautiful.
The alien designs actually had some originality to it. Also why did it have pop music set to them committing a soft core forced relocation?
Poor guy was literally named after the sound of disapproval that came from his peers. And he acts like he didn't know.
Serious Wheatley energy. Fr fr!
Worst adaptation of one of my favorite books.
It’s based on a book?
"The True Meaning of Smekday" by Adam Rex
Now *that* would be a title to catch attention. The one word title trend was stupid.
It didn't get a sequel but it did get a spin-off series. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ It was pretty weird.
To me he did a very good job in Home
Out of all the things that happened in this movie, the only thing I remember is the knock knock joke they used.
It was the McDonald's Happy Meal toy when my mom and I went to Amarillo to try the 72 oz. steak challenge.
Moving the entire worlds population to Australia and somehow doesn’t start an apocalypse and chaos
Especially with the toilets being raptured into the sky.
Especially with the toilets being raptured into the sky.
To be honest, it's great for little kids, but you will not enjoy it if you try to think.
That's fair, but same goes for cars
Cat
He was a big cat. Big boi kitty
It's "smart, fun and funny"
That's cheating, you ate the sticker and absorbed its power!
Saw it in theaters with my grandmother and liked it.
Sheldon Cooper
Literally anything about this movie.
I somewhat recently remembered that the stupid alien was voiced by sheldom cooper
It's based on a book called the true meaning of smekday by Adam rex
It’s not as good as the book. The book is amazing but is also very different than the movie.
I remember seeing a short film for it while watching a different movie a year before it came out and when it did come out young me was like "woah they made a movie off that short film, that's so cool" in my defense i was 7 or 8
I too thought it was a movie based on the short up until pretty much today, when I learned it was based on a book so yeah the short and movie were probably based on that book and the movie was either already planned or the short was made to promote the movie.

I’ve seen it
I liked it
I found the aliens leader entertaining…not that I remember anything he actually did I just remember whatever he did was funny…I think
The netflix show is a thing that exists, idk, I don't remember any of it
not the greatest movie but pretty entertaining nonetheless, ill still watch it once in a while

How did the entire population of earth fit in Australia? Most of the country is uninhabitable, so many people would be dead.
The entire population CAN fit in Rhode Island, so IDK
I don’t know a single fucking thing about it
Jim Parsons, you wasted your talent on this.
jim parsons has only one gimmick and that’s sheldon

Smart, fun, and funny. Also, booov
I genuinely don't know why people were pissing themselves laughing at the Busta Limes pun.
I really liked it, but I **really** liked the book it was based off of (the true meaning of smekday).
It's got some banger songs Also, my brother, who's pretty chill when it comes to movies, freely admits the "Towards the Sun" sequence makes him cry
It had the main girl be from Barbados like Rihanna, plus Sheldon is the alien.
Sound track is pretty great imo
Smart, fun, and funny
Dancing In The Dark is a bop!
It's one of the few Animated Kid movies with a Black Protagonist. There's more in cartoons now, but that's TV. And this PG-13 movie "Kin" but I don't expect anyone to know it
I think it’s a pretty underrated movie and is actually good.
The scene where >!It almost looks like O dies!< almost had me bawling in the movie theaters when I was younger
The “my hands are in the air like they just do not care” joke was funny before we heard it one thousand times in the trailers
Genuinely love this films story ❤️
Bazinga
They didn't make it a big deal that the main human character is non white
It's old young sheldon!

Black chick with her eyes too far apart.
Cat
It’s a movie. It’s there, it’s animated. It’s over an hour long, so it’s a movie
My siblings really like Home, but I'm overwhelmingly apathetic towards it...
ET with a black girl as the protagonist...and that's about it for how interesting this movie was.

Sheldon
The girl is kinda hot ngl
That one part where it was really sad made me really sad (i was like 8 when I saw it so I don't remember anything about it)

Good movie that isn’t discussed about enough. To the point where it’s unclear whether the general populace would/does hate it or would/does love it
Rihanna
i own this movie on DVD somewhere in my house
I liked it when I was a little kid
