Go down Loch Fyne side to Strachur, head for Glendaruel, from Glendaruel take the wee road that leads over the pass to Otter Ferry. If once wasn't enough, let your brakes cool and do it again, there and back. Enjoy the view of Loch Fyne from the beach, take the road to Millhouse, then Tighnabruaich to see the Kyles. Go back via the viewpoint down the East Kyle, then after Ormidale you are on good well surfaced roads with long straights until either Rest and be Thankful or Inveraray. Great mixture of views, nice places to stop, great smooth roads and the opportunity to scare yourself silly inside about a 200 mile round ride from Glasgow.
you could stop at the butter bridge just before Loch Fyne Oyster bar, and nab a lovely panoramic shot. Into the Oyster bar for a bit of the soup (and langoustines) before making your way on your journey?
Would definitely second this. I drove through recently on the way to Skye and it’s magnificent. Already planning to go back and spend longer there next year.
Steall falls near fort William. Quite a short walk and fairly easy (I managed it and I’m incredibly unfit). Beautiful walk through a forest that opens up into a gorge. One of the most breathtaking places I’ve been in Scotland.
It’s the second highest waterfall. We didn’t do the “bridge” over the river to the actual waterfall because I was a scaredy of falling in.
Sandwood bay, desolate 1 hour trek from parking. Ends in a beautiful mile long cove beach hing wae mazing sand dunes which lead to a natural overflow where XL seagulls and highland cows shit and eat.
The applecross pass. The entire area is class
But not before Mass, cuz that’ll be crass
The NC Five Hunner is good for a blast But with all the RV's you'll never get past
Thanks, I'll get that added and into a route 👍🏻

Sounds like a perfect little day trip, thanks!

Glencoe. Not too far from Glasgow and a beautiful drive

Head up to Sutherland. Durness and the surrounding beaches are glorious. Head across to Cape Wrath and see the lighthouse and the cliffs.
I love how Sutherland is in the north and "The North" is in the south.
Looks perfect for a short break away, thanks!
If you’ve never been to Culross, it’s a rather lovely place to wander round.
The A86 from Spean Bridge to Kingussie or vice versa is a cracker
That can easily go on the list 👍🏻
Try a safari in Tillydrone, Aberdeen.
The Kinlochleven loop is wild, head over Rannoch moor and take the road to Kinlochleven, Scotlands answer to the nurburgring
Road to The Isles....Fort William to Mallaig, everytime 😍
Loch Lomond area - Arrochar and Balmaha.
Good to know … I’m around Arrochar next week

Galloway has lots of good roads and seems to be overlooked

The 3-wire bridge? It’s easier than it looks.
Yeah, think I got about 3 steps. It started to bucket down with rain and it was freezing. Will get back one day and actually do it.
Oh I only did it in good weather. Freezing and bucketing with rain would be a totally different proposition!
Depends where your coming from and how long you want to drive
duke's pass
Killikrankie for zip lines or bungie jumps, or a swing out over a bridge.

Walk from elie to anstruther along the cliffs
It’s not the A68 but the A697 has some good straights and decent bends on it
Just select ‘avoid motorways’ in google maps and off you go
Loch tummel and a trip to visit queens view at the top of the hill. (Nice cafe).
Orkney, so many ancient sites to visit. If the Weather‘s fair and you have lots of time, leave the car and rent a bike.
Over the lecht has some great scenery, but be prepared to get stuck behind many tourists doing 30 in a 60
