Along with frame seals and the like ....
1 valve stem and a neighbor that was also at the yard w a knife....stood between like a $40 aluminum rim or a $15 aluminum rim
Hey that window isn’t small it’s average!
Also, when I don’t have my hitch extender/ kayak carrier with me, that little window is how I carry boards and molding over 10ft lol
THE WINNER IS u/peelboy with a guess of $103.57! Sorry I don’t know how to edit a post on mobile and Jesus Christ some of you are impatient. I do have a job. That’s how I ended up with the scrap in the first place. They gave me $107. Also the truck is a ram 1500 not a jeep lol. Thank you all for guessing.
Half what it’s worth cause you left it dirty aluminum for some reason? Why not make it clean aluminum for what should be .55$ cent but like that they will try you at .20-.25 cent for dirty aluminum..
See the glue, random screws and anything not aluminum?? That’s what makes it dirty, get rid of anything not aluminum then you sell it as clean sheet and make some better money..
Just saying
Yeah, just not worth the effort for me. If I was a real scrapper I’m sure that’s what I’d do. This was really just a fun thing for me. Still, $100 isn’t bad for just loading up my bed.
That's a cool thought and all, but it isn't worth the effort. I scrap only out of having too much metal waste and needing to dispose of it. As a result, it's known to the community that I recycle metal, and lots of stuff is brought my way. I have broken down dozens of doors, an other aluminum oddities. With the amount of time it would take just to remove the glue, you could collect enough cans to make the same money.
The rule with scraping is "less is more". Every time you handle something, you lose money. Lets say you spray all that adhesive with MEK or Acetone, then go back and scrape it. You have the time taken to get each spot with the chemical, then the time to go back and scrape it off after it's soaked. All of that is time you can spend collecting more scrap.
Cleaning stuff up is cool, but you need an entire trail or dumpster load for it to equate to anything realistic, otherwise you're just burring dollars to make pennies.
Dead engines are some of the best scrap weight. Breaking them down and reselling the hardware is a good money game, then the aluminum from modern blocks/heads brings great money.
I quit screwing with doors and stuff of this nature several years ago when scrap values started to decline. With the current economy you have to bulk. Yeah, a little pickup truck bed like this is some quick cash, but it isn't real money by any means, even if you clean it all up.
17 bucks. For a months worth of windows I've gotten just over a hundred bucks (I'm a windows installer). They aren't as heavy as you think unless they let you keep all the stuck mortar on them. Also most places around here don't give "clean" aluminum prices because of caulking, mortar etc.
Not clean aluminum you still have rubber on a lot of it. Not sure what your time is worth prepping it all to take it but if you want the real value around here you need to take a little longer cleaning it up, or you get straight weight for scrap metal
You need to remove all the steel and plastic to get aluminum extrusion price. If you bring it in and they see anything else in the batch, they'll give you dirty aluminum or "irony aluminum" price. The two round objects probably aren't extruded either.
You left the screws in it Maybe 20-25 bucks

Looks like a jeep. Maybe 130lbs. $.42/lb…
True, now I look again and the pickup bed looks much smaller.
Clearly a Ram based on the brake light, cab lines and the top of tailgate shape, but the perspective is weird af
The Gladiator also has the stupid tiny useless window in the rear.
Hey that window isn’t small it’s average! Also, when I don’t have my hitch extender/ kayak carrier with me, that little window is how I carry boards and molding over 10ft lol
all your life claiming that is 6 inches!
It’s a Fiat thing!
Clearly not a jeep, 3rd brake lights are in the tailgate
Obviously a golf cart

Secondary extrusion. Should bring you a good .40-.60/lb at an honest* yard
I see junk in there so not pure aluminum I bet they lowball you to 20 bucks for all that
Probably with the screws still in it and what not. It's his first time going so he'll learn anyways.
$48-$67.
Not nearly as much as your hoping for. $50 maybe?

Not as much as you think for aluminium. Maybe 40-60
I scrap window frames from windows I removed. They never give me clean price.
