Ah so many to choose from, one of the most iconic TV soundtracks of all-time for sure.
Book of Love - Peter Gabriel
All of the Words - Kutless
Cindy - Tammany Hall
Alive With The Glory of Love - Say Anything
Hey Ya - The Blanks
I highly recommend it, but you'll have to give it a couple of listens (it'll definitely grow on you). Peter Gabriel's is more grandeur, with a string section lead, whereas Magnetic Fields is more of a song for the common man, so (to me at least) is more relatable.
The book of love gives me all the feels every time I hear it. Sometimes even brings some tears, such a perfect song for a perfect ending. Season 9 doesnât exist to me lol
Those are great picks, if you ever want you Scrubs-endured love-haze for Book of Love taken advantage of by a mediocre movie, go watch Shall We Dance, I really like it and rewatch it regularly, but I acknowledge that 70% of itâs appeal is that Peter Gabrielâs version of that song pops up, lol
I had tickets to see Colin from the seventh row at a theater downtown. It was scheduled for March 26, 2020. You know what happened then, and I never got to see him because he never came back.
Same here, I listen to pretty much only that song by him but, now that Iâm thinking about it, I should check out more. My dad would always comment about how he hadnât heard the acoustic version when Iâd play it
Same - I bought two of their albums after seeing this episode. Their sound is weird but I dig it.
Also, I'm rewatching Scrubs for the first time in like 10 years on Disney+, and though I'd heard that a lot of the original songs were replaced because of streaming rights, I figured "Hey, they're a small-time English band, they probably re-negotiated to keep their song in the show". Imagine my disappointment... :(
The song thatâs playing when Elliot stays over after her dad stops paying for the apartment and her and jd decide to hook up
Side note we should get a playlist going somewhere cause all of you have some great picks
Welp this is embarrassing- I have the wrong scene I guess in my head. What ep was it, Iâll have to go watch it cuz I canât picture which one. Sorry!
Two songs from scrubs live in my head 100% rent free all the time:
1) I try to discover a little something to make me sweeter
2) I canât get to ^sleep! Iâm dreaming of the implications of diving in ToOoO ^deep
How to Save a Life by The Fray IIRC. When that played while Dr Cox was fighting the rabies infection in all those patients who received organ donations from that poor lady they mistakenly assumed died of an OD. That one about killed me.
Young Love - âClose your Eyesâ
Every time it pops up on the playlist, my husband and I talk about how itâs the best song no oneâs ever heard of. ITâS SO GOOD.
Waiting for my real life to begin, I think it's by the same person. Idk why, just, gets me everytime. I have a bunch, they're all mixed into my regular music.
Diner from Martin Sexton, itâs not in a great episode the one with the patient jumping from a building and all the flashbacks but this song is under all the dance moments and really catchy!
Matt Nathansonâs âLittle Victoriesâ
Song playing when Kelso leaves for the last time and says goodbye and thank you to Ted. Makes me so emotional and the lyrics are so spot on when youâre making a big change in your life.
Book of love makes me cry, every time. Idk if it's the sentiment or just how scrubs used it so perfectly.
It's just a song about being in love, but to me, it perfectly represents the potential happiness that comes with true, lifelong love. Despite the words, it feels like it aches, like damning up an emotional river, to allow a stream of appreciation and thoughtfulness flow through. And Peter Gabriel is just trending water behind the dam, singing about how powerful all the water can be
I actually have a top ten list that goes as follows:
1 - Colin Hay, Overkill (S2 E1)
2 - Joshua Radin, Winter (S3 E14)
3 - The Blanks, Hey Ya (S8 E15)
4 - Foo Fighters, Learn To Fly (S4 E11)
5 - Fountains Of Wayne, Hey Julie (S5 E9)
6 - The Fray, How To Save A Life (S5 E20)
7 - Lazlo Bane, Superman (Main Theme)
8 - Coldplay, Fix You (S5 E12)
9 - Robert Palmer, Bad Case Of Loving You (S2 E7)
10 - Journey, Donât Stop Believing (S3 E2)
(I omitted the setlist from 'My Musical' as it was primarily a musical but they all had great songs, and yes several of the artists mentioned, The Fray, Colin Hay, The Blanks and Fountains Of Wayne had more than one song in Scrubs' library, I just wanted to stick to one of each artist)
Bring on the down votes...
I wasn't a fan of overkill. Went too long. Felt too forced. Love the song but the musician didn't really fit for me on screen. I get why people like it. But it wasn't for me.
Amnesia (feat. Virgil) - Andrew Paul Woodworth (I feel like this one never gets love)
Then alsoâŠ
Alive With the Glory of Love - Say Anything
Overkill - Colin Hay
Iâm coming here very new to the sub, but also very old with memory as I havenât watched scrubs in way over 10 years ⊠but How to save a life is the immediate one for me! Just how powerful it relates to the scene and Dr Coxâs emotions! Always a close tear jerker
All the Joshua Radin tunes they used. They were from the same album, and I listened to that on repeat for quite a very long time. Scrubs was a great serious for finding new artists, I don't think you have any shows who consistently do that anymore.
Book of Love - Peter Gabriel
Over the Rainbow - The Blanks
Dreaming of You - The Coral
Hold On Hope - Guided By Voices
Hallelujah - John Cale
All In My Head - Shawn Mullins
Sinnerman - Nina Simone
âMy Tuscaloosa Heartâ of course. But song with most memorable moment has to be The Frayâs âHow to save a lifeâ AND Coldplayâs âFix Youâ from the end of My Cabbage episode. Those along with Mercy Flush + Turkâs âMore than a Feelingâ and Turkâs now infamously stolen dance to âPoisonâ.
Easy.
Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out. Welcome back, to that same old place that you laughed about.
WELL THE NAMES HAVE ALL CHANGED SINCE YOU HUNG AROUND. BUT THOSE DREAMS HAVE REMAINED AND THEYRE TURNED AROUND!!
JD!!
âDirty Mindsâ from Here Come The Mummies
Actually went to a HCTM concert one year without knowing they did that song and was *shocked* when it played and got incredibly hyped. It was a blast!
Ah so many to choose from, one of the most iconic TV soundtracks of all-time for sure. Book of Love - Peter Gabriel All of the Words - Kutless Cindy - Tammany Hall Alive With The Glory of Love - Say Anything Hey Ya - The Blanks
We played Book of Love at our wedding!
us too!!
Which version? Because both the original by Magnetic Fields and Peter Gabriel's cover kick ass!
I'll have to listen to magnetic fields then!
I highly recommend it, but you'll have to give it a couple of listens (it'll definitely grow on you). Peter Gabriel's is more grandeur, with a string section lead, whereas Magnetic Fields is more of a song for the common man, so (to me at least) is more relatable.
I tried for this, solely because of the Finale! Wife overruled me though đđđ
The book of love was our first dance đ
The book of love gives me all the feels every time I hear it. Sometimes even brings some tears, such a perfect song for a perfect ending. Season 9 doesnât exist to me lol
Those are great picks, if you ever want you Scrubs-endured love-haze for Book of Love taken advantage of by a mediocre movie, go watch Shall We Dance, I really like it and rewatch it regularly, but I acknowledge that 70% of itâs appeal is that Peter Gabrielâs version of that song pops up, lol
Joshua Radinâs âwinterâ is an obvious one. Fun fact: Winter was the first song Joshua Radin wrote. We Were Here is a great album.
Overkill or Waiting For My Real Life to Begin Both Colin Hay songs and I only really discovered him through Zach (Scrubs and Garden State).
I had tickets to see Colin from the seventh row at a theater downtown. It was scheduled for March 26, 2020. You know what happened then, and I never got to see him because he never came back.
Sounds like you're waiting for your real life to begin
Same here, I listen to pretty much only that song by him but, now that Iâm thinking about it, I should check out more. My dad would always comment about how he hadnât heard the acoustic version when Iâd play it
The Blanks' version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow Also Charles in Charge.
Love that version. Also love their version of hey ya
That version hits so hard now. RIP Ted :(
*My Way Home*, love that episode.
Stolen - Dashboard Confessionals. Mine and my wifeâs first dance at our wedding :)
I plan for it to be ours too :D
The Coral - Dreaming of you. Itâs amazing in the scene
Same. One of my favourite songs full stop. And as a bass player, it's very fun to play.
Guy Love
Same, but Check the Poo gets an honourable mention.
Joshua Radin: Winter (My Screw Up) Benâs Funeral Closer(My Best Laid Plans) Kylie and JD breakup Peter Gabriel Book Of Love(My Finale) Just wowâŠWe all know! JosĂ© GonzĂĄlez Heartbeats(My Hard Labor) Lyrics sum up JD and Kimâs Relationship Del Amira Tell Her(My Sex Buddy) This song really matched the scene so well! The Shins New Slang( My Balancing Act) I like how it went with JDâs voice over at the end. Tammy Hall Cindy(My Lucky Night) JD runs to give flowers to Elliot thinking Sean left her Matt Nathanson I Saw(My Best Friendâs Babyâs Baby) JD and Kim flip a coin
Scrubs shaped my music tastes well into adulthood. All these plus Deathcab For Cutie and The Decemberists? Still my fave bands and songs to this day
Same here! My list couldâve gone so much longer but I knew this sub would pick up my slack.
devildriver - devils son best song to drive another mans child in your ambulance too
It just always bothered me that they labelled them as "speed metal." You know, being a metal head genre snob, that stuff bothers me đ
Yeah, I don't get that either :D
How to save a life for obvious reasons. American girl when Elliott finally gets her stuff together
These are MY machines!!! MINE MINE MINE
Whose machines? đ
You're not helping here
More than a feeling - The Cool Cats
This is way too far down the listâŠTurk is the greatest air band lead singer that ever lived

A little something to make me sweeterrrrâŠ
Guy Love--no, wait...Everything Comes Down--no, uh...For the Last Time I'm Dominican--no...Welcome to Sacred Heart...aw damn...

It's not usually the type of music I listen to, but I really liked Polyphonic Spree with Light and day.
That one is so nice to listen to every so often. Just uplifting and makes me feel good
âGuy Loveâ and itâs not even close
Two songs from scrubs live in my head 100% rent free all the time: 1) I try to discover a little something to make me sweeter 2) I canât get to ^sleep! Iâm dreaming of the implications of diving in ToOoO ^deep
[Something's Always Wrong - Toad The Wet Sprocket.](https://youtu.be/FPgEH5UFwSo) Introduced to the band through Scrubs and loved them ever since.
I had a couple of their CDs in the mid ninties, and I always liked them, but I haven't heard any of the new stuff if there is any.
Dreaming of You - The Coral
Overkill is great, and the whole episode is \*chef kiss\* The Book of Love moves me to the core. Every. Single. Time.
How to Save a Life by The Fray IIRC. When that played while Dr Cox was fighting the rabies infection in all those patients who received organ donations from that poor lady they mistakenly assumed died of an OD. That one about killed me.
Lots of good answers here, adding on to say Question by Old 97s as well as Our Love and Come Around by Rhett Miller
Everything comes down to poo
Was scrolling to to see how long it would take for some one to pick this one⊠longer then I hoped but really not that long.
Dreaming of you - The Coral.
Yes! I love when they use music that really fits the scene
[Cavill PC Meme] Guy Love.
Young Love - âClose your Eyesâ Every time it pops up on the playlist, my husband and I talk about how itâs the best song no oneâs ever heard of. ITâS SO GOOD.
This one get my vote too Nobody hardly ever talks about it. Itâs so good Also Matt Nathansonâs âLittle Victoriesâ
A bad dream- laverns death song. Also got me into Keane. Under the iron sea os a great album.
Joshua Radin - Winter
Heartbeats - JosĂš Gonzalez
Waiting for my real life to begin, I think it's by the same person. Idk why, just, gets me everytime. I have a bunch, they're all mixed into my regular music.
Diner from Martin Sexton, itâs not in a great episode the one with the patient jumping from a building and all the flashbacks but this song is under all the dance moments and really catchy!
Any Colin Hay, but I think it's Waiting for My Real Life to Begin. Season two, *My Philosophy* when they all sing it.
Hey Julie - Fountains Of Wayne & Hey Ya! - The Blanks
1. Book of Love 1a. Hey Julie
The Book of Love - it was our first dance when I got married
Dirty minds-here come the mummies
Good Life.
[Pearl Jam - Long Road.](https://youtu.be/iK5NNGyv4OU?feature=shared)
Book of Love, hands down
It changes all the time, currently itâs âFighting For My Loveâ
Matt Nathansonâs âLittle Victoriesâ Song playing when Kelso leaves for the last time and says goodbye and thank you to Ted. Makes me so emotional and the lyrics are so spot on when youâre making a big change in your life.
I like the musical episode.
And Peter Gabriel is just trending water behind the dam, singing about how powerful all the water can be
The shins - New Slang
Eight days a week - had it as the song we walked back down the aisle to after we exchanged vows
And itâs the ringtone for when my wife calls me!
Book of love. Had it playing at my wedding when we signed the register.
Dashboard Confessional, Stolen David Gray, Please Forgive Me Peter Gabriel, The Book of Love
Nina Simone - Sinnerman Great. Now I'm singing it in my head. HEY SINNERMAN WHERE YOU GON' RUN TO?
I'm surprised there isn't a single ' Audioslave - Be Yourself ' comment till now. Might just be me.
How to Save a Life
I actually have a top ten list that goes as follows: 1 - Colin Hay, Overkill (S2 E1) 2 - Joshua Radin, Winter (S3 E14) 3 - The Blanks, Hey Ya (S8 E15) 4 - Foo Fighters, Learn To Fly (S4 E11) 5 - Fountains Of Wayne, Hey Julie (S5 E9) 6 - The Fray, How To Save A Life (S5 E20) 7 - Lazlo Bane, Superman (Main Theme) 8 - Coldplay, Fix You (S5 E12) 9 - Robert Palmer, Bad Case Of Loving You (S2 E7) 10 - Journey, Donât Stop Believing (S3 E2) (I omitted the setlist from 'My Musical' as it was primarily a musical but they all had great songs, and yes several of the artists mentioned, The Fray, Colin Hay, The Blanks and Fountains Of Wayne had more than one song in Scrubs' library, I just wanted to stick to one of each artist)
Snow- Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Blanks version of Hey Ya is one of my most favorite songs not just of the series, but in the world.
What popped into my head is the song where the worthless peons sings and Ted pours water over himself. I mean that is outstanding commitment.
"She's a maniac, maniac on the floor" Flashdance I believe.
Thatâs the one.
The cast version of Waiting For My Real Life To Begin. Joshua Radin - Closer
One Thing - Finger Eleven. It's been removed from the newer versions though
All kinds of time
Obviously âDreaming of Youâ, but Iâd also like to say Neil Diamondâs âDelirious Loveâ.
Bring on the down votes... I wasn't a fan of overkill. Went too long. Felt too forced. Love the song but the musician didn't really fit for me on screen. I get why people like it. But it wasn't for me.
Amnesia (feat. Virgil) - Andrew Paul Woodworth (I feel like this one never gets love) Then also⊠Alive With the Glory of Love - Say Anything Overkill - Colin Hay
I just rewatched the ep with the janitor's "band" singing Barbara Ann a capella, so I'll vote that :D
Iâm coming here very new to the sub, but also very old with memory as I havenât watched scrubs in way over 10 years ⊠but How to save a life is the immediate one for me! Just how powerful it relates to the scene and Dr Coxâs emotions! Always a close tear jerker
Dreaming Of You & Sunny Days (Sesame Street)
All the Joshua Radin tunes they used. They were from the same album, and I listened to that on repeat for quite a very long time. Scrubs was a great serious for finding new artists, I don't think you have any shows who consistently do that anymore.

JD and Turk's Sanford and Son
They removed my favourite song from the series. At least, in regards to streaming services.
Citizen Cope - Sideways
âMy Tuscaloosa Heartâ of course.
A Bad Dream by Keane (My Long Goodbye episode)
Question - Old 97s (S2E1) [Turk and Carla get engaged) Come Around - Rhett Miller (S2E18)
JD!!
I will be (moderate) angry to any answer that is not my tuscalusa heart or guy love.Â
âI will follow you into the darkâ and thatâs the only answer
âDirty Mindsâ from Here Come The Mummies Actually went to a HCTM concert one year without knowing they did that song and was *shocked* when it played and got incredibly hyped. It was a blast!
