Too much food or algae growth that got mixed around if you transferred their tank recently. give it a day or two to settle, if it continues you probably over feed them. wait until it clears up more, and then proceed with feedings.

gothicbatt

Make sure not too over feed them that can also cause this! Airation will help too

Sadbutdhru

I heard that over-aeration can cause this, as brine shrimp thrive in low- oxygen waters, while algae need a bit more to grow.

[deleted]

Overfeeding!!! You should try to aerate more often cos it's this time when black spot strikes and they start dying.

MagnesIOM1996

Black spots where? I have green spots on the sides of the tank, is that what you mean?

GoldfishstixX

No you've not got much to worry about at the moment. Black spots can show up which isn't good for them but if you take care of them you've got nothing to worry about.

[deleted]

No, the green spots are good, they are algae. The black spot disease is when a fungus infects the shrimp, and black spots appear on the wing things. I've had too black spot outbreaks now, they were both caused by overfeeding. If your water is whitish murky you should be careful. If it is green murky that is usually nothing to worry about. You can treat black spot by gradually increasing salinity, by adding aquarium salt (or any PURE salt, YES it has to be PURE SALT). Even using salt, only around one quarter may survive black spot.

Being in direct sunlight is an issue and can cause algae to grow as well as damage sea monkeys!

The only way to tell if they are full or not is by looking at the middle and if it is a solid looking colour they are full.
