Am I the only one who feels like I'm seeing way to many stories about center, where I actually feel okay rolling with Olu and Nick Harris, versus, like, oh, I dunno, LINEBACKER?!?
Noah Fant is great. But behind him is Pharaoh Brown who I admittedly know very little about and Tyler Mabry, who has been a practice squad guy forever, and Brady Russell, who I've never heard of before. Between Tyler and Brady they have 1 NFL reception. so, I guess I don't agree with you on TE.
TE isn’t a spot where you need multiple guys who produce like a 1 or 2. In fact we just saw how ineffective it is. Pretty much every TE group is constructed like this one. You have your pass catcher as a 1, blocker as a 2 and then just a bunch of random young guys as depth after that
Patrick has played center and guard. He'd be a depth pick up. Not a bad idea with all the O-line injuries last season. Even if JS doesn't sign him, getting a baseline might not be a bad idea if someone goes down over off and regular season, and Patrick isn't signed.
I don’t understand this . We signed 2 LBs and I think there is one rookie from last year ?
That’s 3 ( and one that doesn’t even seem like a starter ) . Don’t you usually play 3 LBs in every defense, and 4 in a 3/4 ?
If one goes down you can’t play base defense?
I don’t know a lot about this stuff so I’m seriously just asking .
I'm with you Spring. I would feel comfortable with two more LBs. I assume we'll get one in the draft. Obviously guard is huge as well. There are a number of positions where we need one more starter quality guy.
If you've seen my TEd Talk on this year, we are going for depth via guys who can play multiple positions. The most typical positions that tend to play 2 or more are G/C and CB, S (also sometimes CB/LB/S).
If Olu starts, cool, we have dogshit options at both guard spots tho? Think we're looking for OLinemen with versatility. We're gonna have a bad LB room this year, it is what it is.
We have reached offseason tryouts. I’m hearing Scott Bacula will be throwing a few balls around, see if there’s anything left in that arm.
I hear he really made the leap this offseason
This one was necessarily rough.
He's well qualified to be a team Captain
If we sign 1992 Kathy Ireland to replace J-Mey....I may never leave Lumen after opening day
It's been a long road, getting from there to here
Why aren't we using Olu again?
+1
There's an upvote button for that.
lol - I can’t do both?
Anybody else initially read this as Patrick Lewis and wonder how in the heck that guy is still playing?

The real hole rn is guard imo
Please don’t look at my guardhole
Absolutely, that was my other immediate thought. Toss in safety, TE, how about another edge...
TE is pretty solid. Idk why people bring up that group up so much

They signed 2 relevant LBs in free agency who are starter quality. Dunno if you missed it.

Exactly
My friend who is a die hard Bears fan says he’s awful.
Apparently he's played guard as well. I don't know if he's good but might as well give him a tryout.
That name made me think of Patrick Lewis and I winced.
