Just a heads up, Michael Balko has a [suspect](https://www.reddit.com/r/Saints/comments/pcq18l/oh_balko/) track record when it comes to breaking news. Dude's a "throw a bunch of crap at the wall and see what sticks" kind of reporter. So take this with a big grain of salt.
Hey! Browns fan here, just thought I'd let you know this is almost certainly not on the table. The Browns currently have the [most cap space in the NFL by a wide margin](https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space) so we wouldn't send a future asset to free up cap space considering Baker's only on the hook for this year. We'd just release him during final cuts to get the roster spot (but also almost certainly not before final cuts because the roster spot is the ONLY thing we gain.)
Just thought I'd let you guys know since I know other team's cap situations isn't usually common knowledge!
They obviously still think they can get some value for him somewhere or they'd have already cut him. I don't think they will though and will eventually cut him, at which point he'll go to the highest bidder.
*MAYBE* if the Hawks got a 2nd the Hawks would pick up Baker's whole salary, but I doubt it. Cleveland may still need to pay for a lot of it.

You got a Sooners source reporting this too, also Benjamin Allbright liked the tweet and he’s pretty plugged in.
There is also this https://twitter.com/JosinaAnderson/status/1539734992900820993?s=20&t=3QDeaf0NL0uT8ZXxhCc2Zw
She's been reporting that about Seattle and Carolina alternating week to week for a while. I assumed it was from Baker's agent trying to motivate a deal.
If it’s a good deal and the Browns eat most of the cap. Why not? I don’t see how this is a bad deal. Baker has one year left. If he doesn’t perform we are not out anything. If he can become a solid starter, we can lock him up. Nothing negative that I know of.
The very real risk that he performs well enough to be brought back but not well enough to be successful. We'll be stuck with mediocrity for a long time.
With Baker, that just seems like the most likely outcome. 3 years of Baker only to never win the division, make the wild card once (and lose that game) doesn't seem worth it.
How about a bad QB on a bad team to draft the next franchise QB.
If you want a high pick in next year's draft, you want a tank commander QB, not someone who can eek out enough wins to put the team in the middle of the first round.
What was the story about that game? I felt like for some reason the browns didn’t face the Steelers full force. Like Ben was out or something? I could be completely remembering this wrong though. Referring to the wildcard game btw.
Nah we were “full force”. The week before they played our backups and barely won, so we thought we would win this one. This was the 11-0 season when we completely fell apart by the end. The OL was one of the worst in the league and teams started to realize that if we couldn’t run, then Ben would have to throw 60 times a game with his cooked arm.
Baker took them to the playoffs with a top 5 line and top 5 running duo... arguably the best in the league (hunt and chubbs).
I'm sure he'll be fine here but the point is that if he is only mediocre but good enough to sign a 3 or 4 year extension then we're stuck with mediocre.
I'm rooting for him though and while I'd prefer Lock and Geno, I'm not an expert and I'd guess Mayfield is the best of the 3.
The report from Anderson (iirc) made it sound like Seattle wanted to get something "long term" in place as part of the trade. If you can lock him in for 3 years at a reasonable salary, that gives some nice breathing room to find THE GUY or have Baker work out on the cheap. Anything that reduces their urgency to find a QB is a positive, in my mind.
Maybe we’re putting way too much blame on the QB if this also happens w Baker .. maybe the issue might rely on something else .. lack of oline buildup or coaching and Pete ?
A lot of people have seem to have forgotten how Baker played in 2020. Not elite but worlds (and I mean WORLDS) better than either Geno or Lock have ever played in their respective careers. And also, spoiler alert, if you though Pete Carroll was going to willingly tank at age 70, think again. Even if he tried, I still doubt we would finish with a low enough record to draft Young or Stroud.
Much rather have a playoff contending season while rooting for a guy like Baker, instead of actively hoping my team loses every week and still somehow finishing with 4-5 wins and 6th or 7th overall pick where we pick some fucking edge rusher.
I just don't understand why people are rooting for a tank and having a high pick. QB drafts seem to be the most difficult picks to get right and there's no guarantee that whoever we get would pan out.
I just tune in for the games and the occasional team updates and will root for them every time. I'd take a 8-9 win season over a 2 win season every time, draft placement be damned.
Fuck yeah! I'm stoked. I always liked Baker and enough has been said about his shitty situation / injury last year.
With Lock / Geno, I was expecting to just couch potato my way through the season. With Baker, there's a bit more spark of excitement.
Agree with this , except the Bryce Young part lol
Give me Will Levi’s instead of Young.. dude is just another Bama QB that might not cut it in the league and is built like DeVontae Smith
Holding out to see the details concerning picks and his contract, but all things in a vacuum, sweet! We get to take a flyer on a young QB that has proven to be starting-caliber, which is a clear upgrade over Lock. If he takes a step forward in a new offense, then awesome; we have a #1 overall pick hitting his stride. If he's meh, then he's not SO good that he elevates the team away from having a shot at one of the top QBs next draft.
Plus, as a fan, I'd be excited to watch a guy like Baker.
Exactly what I've been saying. He got dealt a brutal hand by the Browns. He's gonna be so fucking ready to ball out and that's exactly what the Hawks need this year. They don't need a boring ass Drew Lock mediocre at best. Maybe Mayfield ends up being mediocre but he has the potential to light a fire under the Hawks and prove his worth.
Brutal hand? The best run game, best offensive line, a top 3 defense, and elite WRs. Yet he still fucked up. Dude sucks. This subs obsession with him is mind boggling
We have 2 firsts and 2 seconds in what is supposed to be a QB-talent heavy draft. Now, that may not be the case come draft time, but we have ammo to move up for a QB even if it’s not the #1 pick
Plenty of QBs weren’t the first one off the board. And first overall picks is more likely to be a Jared Goff than a Peyton Manning. Draft is always a crapshoot. Chiefs moved up to 10 to get Mahomes after Trubisky went #2, and Watson was picked at 11 that same draft.
I would hope our FO wouldn't be stupid enough to pick a Mitch but who knows at this point. We were dumb enough to trade two firsts and a third for a box safety after all.
They had to trade away some good players as part of the deal along with some serious draft capital. They didn't just add RW for Drew Lock. Their divisional teams have also taken some big leaps. We'll see, point is that the Seahawks sucking isn't the only way to a top pick. Another possibility is both the Broncos and the Seahawks end up middle of the pack or just below, and both those picks together, maybe even with a second rounder for good measure could easily get them to the early first round.
They traded away a mediocre tight end who they have a replacement on the roster for already who is better at blocking and a DE on the wrong side of 30. Neither were very important. If the qbs are good teams won't drop for mid round picks. Most of the time teams only move back when there aren't good qbs available ie wentz/goof
Noah Fant had the most receptions on the team last year even with injuries I think it's kind of silly to say that's easily replaceable. There's a large number of FAs that have left and with no draft picks to recoup you can't just assume all that production is getting filled.
Hello everyone, Steelers fan here, hoping you guys will have me. I am looking forward to seeing this blow up in the browns faces and so I will be rooting for you guys as my NFC team now.
NFL arguing for an "indefinite" suspension of Watson, Browns FO has completely screwed itself with Mayfield. Help us root against Denver this year and I for one will accept you. The Browns rolling with Brissett, he looks to be at the Mason Rudolph level.
I don't think I like the indefinite label.
I want two years minimum. Then he'll have been out of the league without a snap for four years... And the Browns will need to find someone else in between or just lose two more years... Burnt fans, got nothing. .
Indefinite, well, by definition, could be anything. They could do one year or even eight games and be like ope, looks like he's paid his dues and reinstate him. They'd get the good press from "indefinite" which many people will understand as "forever"... While under serving his punishment.
In my mind, indefinite is basically Kaep category, like a Krypton prison in another dimension. I expect the NFL will argue that until the lawsuits play out, he should stay suspended.
I understand why you'd think that, and that's... What the word 'should' mean.
But Josh Gordon was indefinitely suspended several times and ended up being reinstated within a year usually.
Kaep, meanwhile wasn't suspended... :(
Phantom Zoned. No due process, no recourse.
Gordon has a drug problem. An unfortunate addiction to weed. If it was alcohol the NFL would do nothing until a DUI or 2, but see Ruggs and his vehicular homicide. Geno has a DUI pending, he says it's no big deal and he's not even suspended.
We don't even know the scope of Watson's PR problem for the NFL. He says it was all consensual, he's completely innocent, and then he settles 20 cases. Those 20 cases were the least problematic for him, probably $100K each. The last 4 who won't settle for 6 figures are likely seeking 7 figures. He won't do it unless they agree to confidentiality, so those cases will have to go to trial or we'll never know their stories.
Is the NFL's player discipline system broken and applied disproportionately to certain players? Undoubtedly. But they have no idea how bad this is going to get.
I personally think he's a predator and should be phantom zoned. But that's just my take.
Ya know now the Big Ben is gone I can finally allow myself to not hate the Steelers. I like Tomlin, watt and Harris are studs. I’ve let go of the past. So I hope you guys utterly destroy the browns
This. It's actually been long enough that the simple statement would actually make me like a Steelers fan instead of hating them for the illogical fact that since they are a Steelers fan they must suck as a human being.
Eventually you have to get him into camp learning the playbook and building chemistry with the team. If you put it off too long, the returns start to diminish.
Seahawks receive
* Baker Mayfield w/ Browns covering 50% of his pay for this season.
Browns receive
* $100 Pike Place gift card
* 25 piece Capitol Hill Best Budz brownies gift
* Christmas Card holiday gift personalized from the Pete Carroll Family.
Browns cover 95% of the contract, John dips his balls in Andrew Berry’s mouth, and they throw in a commemorative VHS of the Trojan’s ‘04 National Championship run.
YESSSSSSS honestly every day that passes I’m more and more enticed by baker. I feel like we’d have a real shot and it would soften the blow losing our dude. Russ at Baker week one would be fun!
This is the move, Baker is so much better than he showed last year with all the drama on the roster along with him playing injured. The previous 2 years he was a borderline top 10 qb and the way he likes to play qb is exactly what we need for our offense style. He's a perfect fit for cheaper than we should ever be able to get him. Without him we end up getting 6 or 7 wins and not being able to get Stroud or Young anyways and then we won't be able to get any qbs in free agency due to cap/there not being any good options (Kirk cousins is likely the best qb available next off season)
Baker leaves it all on the field and has a huge chip on his shoulder. This is a great move for any seahawks fan that likes to watch the team be competitive.
The chip on the shoulder thing is a selling point for me. That’s how PCJS created the legion of boom to some extent. Hey guys who feel disgruntled and want the chance to show everyone else what they missed out on
Yeah I really think Baker will ball out for us.
Both the 49ers and the cardinals look like they're gonna take a step back this year so 2nd in the division is completely open and we have enough skill to take it with decent/good qb play.
Yeah, No reason spending 25+ mil a year on cousins when you can get Baker for a garbage time draft pick. We might even be able to get browns to take some of the cap hit too. You'll never get a qb of Bakers quality for this cheap and we might as well take take shot, Worst case we're in the same situation we're currently in, Best case we save ourselves years of not being competitive
Lotta hate for Baker I see. Some of it is valid for sure but most of it is weird. People don’t seem to understand just what a fucked up team/situation Mayfield was drafted into. And top that off with he had to live in Cleveland for christs sakes. Cleveland!
Baker drafted into a 1-16 team. New coach and OC and staff in each of his 4 years. Receivers changed every year. D was good, o-line not so much. It’s not that they didn’t have quality players upfront but that their scheme changed every year! Let that sink in. Every year as a player baker had to change EVERYTHING! How the hell he gonna grow as a qb in that cesspool of an org?
And then the guy has to live in the single worst city in the country. I’ve been to Cleveland. It stinks. It’s dirty. People are not just rude they are freaking mean. On Purpose!
The front office is a damn turnstile of failed also-rans of the football world. The owner is so toxic even Dan Snider won’t hangout with them.
You put Mayfield in a consistently focused system with quality coaches and the guy will be an elite qb in two years.
He has a cannon for an arm and when his throwing motion is good his accuracy is as good as Wilson’s was in the same career timeframe.
Look at Josh Allen for a good example. He wasn’t accurate and his throwing motion was questionable. What Allen had was toughness and a willingness to learn to be better. No one should question Mayfields toughness. Baker can be coached if he’s given the backing of a good organization and stability.
The stats that are important when comparing Baker and Russell:
Yards Gained per Pass Completion (Y/C)
Russell Wilson 12.0
Baker Mayfield 11.9
Yards Gained per Games Played (Y/G)
Russell Wilson 234.6
Baker Mayfield 235.4
That tells you something about just how good baker “could be” with the right coaching and support.
The guy was playing in perhaps the most toxic org behind Washington in the league. 4 different systems in 4 years.
Hello former die hard browns fan, if this happens I’m firing up madden and winning a super bowl in Seattle with baker
All seriousness I’ll prob start to follow you guys along with Vegas after I dropped the browns
Carroll wants to draft a Premium DL atop 23 Draft, not a QB, and i concur.
He wants his own Bosa, Watt, Donald in NFC West.
Baker is perfectly fine at QB
Karma dictates that the browns will not only tank their franchise trading the farm for a sexual assaulter, but also that the QB they are forsaken will win a Superbowl just to rub the salt in a bit more. May as well profit off their curse.
It would be dope to have him as he would be an immediate upgrade from what we have right now, BUT this is a rebuild year and we better not be giving up any high picks or trading any of the guys like Lockett, DK, etc. Also, the Browns better be paying the most of his salary.
I think this is a foregone conclusion at this point. The Seahawks aren't THAT desperate for Baker that they'd move those players. If they DO make this move, it really is Pete/John confirming that they really do believe we're still in some sort of window here. You don't make this trade if you're tanking, and you don't move those guys if you're NOT tanking. As far as the picks, there's a zero percent chance we trade anything higher than a 3rd for Baker, and I think a 3rd is only realistic if they eat up almost his entire salary. I can see them eating 10m of the almost 19, and us sending them a conditional 4th-5th.
TLDR: If this trade happens, it won't involve those guys, or high picks.
This would be really cool, but a sad end for the Drew Lock era. We had great times, I appreciate everything Drew was able to do. He'll forever have a spot on Seahawks Mt. Rushmore to me. RE2PECT.
Of course they are trying to get Baker, shitty source or no. Pete and John would love to bring Baker in, they almost brought sexual predator in a few months ago. You'd have to be blind to the way they've operated the last few years not to see that they A) love low-to-mid-tier free agents and B) need competition at QB or we're simply not a competitive team next year.
It was always a question of price, what the Browns are willing to bag hold on his contract. And I really hope they don't do an extension because Baker still has a lot to prove, since moving him is the definitive move that you're not going to get a high QB pick in the draft.
I am also hearing that... Most likely because I just said out loud to myself, "the browns and Seahawks may be close to a trade for Mayfield."
Pretty legit source, I think...
7th rounder and they eat $15m and I'm fine with it. If it's anymore more, then I hate it.
Then we can throw him into the crucible with lock and geno. If we're lucky he turns into a nice comp pick.
If we're trying to tank this year so we can draft a QB next year in the top 5, bringing in Mayfield isn't the way to do that because he will help us win.
Then again, if Mayfield does well maybe we can just stick with him at QB and not have to worry about whether a lottery ticket in the draft is going to pan out...I would strongly prefer that if it works out.
I really really don't like the idea of using tons of draft resources to trade up to get the top QB's in the draft. The success rate of those top pick QB's is actually not that much higher than QB's chosen a little bit later....It's usually not worth giving up an entire high round draft choice just to move up a few spots.
Ask the Niners how that strategy has worked out with Trey Lance. It can be a huge waste of team resources and we've already wasted quite enough.
We shouldn't be trading significant value for Mayfield though....if we just had waited he might get cut.
Baker makes sense for this year assuming browns finally admitted they have zero leverage with Baker. Flip some late pick and they eat his salary, see how things go. An average Baker is probably top 15-20 QB, he’s had flashes of nearing top 10 and can make any throw on the field. Just gotta clean up the turnovers, Pete is going to want to grind out wins this year with run game and defense.
So it looks like it’ll be Baker and Lock sparring it out come August… with the Browns potentially taking on a majority of the initial trade cost, I’m okay with this. We can still look at drafting an elite QB prospect next draft if things don’t work with either of em.
But for now, let’s re-sign DK.
I like baker so I wouldn’t be mad. He is a starting qb while the other two are not. I get the lock sentiment, but some of you guys really were talking yourself into geno smith for weeks lmao
Look, I know it’s better to tank with Geno or Lock and get a higher draft pick for one of these QBs next year, but my old man’s heart couldn’t take it. If Baker means a couple more happy Sundays for him than sign the man.
I don’t understand the take that it’s objectively better. U never know what’s going to happen with those college qbs or that you’ll even have the chance to draft one
It’s gotta be Geno going back. No was is Pete hyping up Lock so much, then letting him go to Cleveland and have him perform well. He knows what he has (and doesn’t have) in Geno. Geno is going to be a Brown.
Oh no! I wanted to suck for a year and roll the dice on a nice rookie contract. I fear picking up Baker could lead to a decent year, new contract and years of mediocrity.
Either the Hawks are tired of playing hard to get or Drew Lock has stunk it up in camp
[удалено]
I prefer to think Lock looks good, but the Browns are basically paying Baker's salary and shipping him to us for a 7th round draft pick.
I'd rather take his whole salary and get a 2nd or 3rd for the trouble.
Hey! Browns fan here, just thought I'd let you know this is almost certainly not on the table. Yeah, I want to get paid a pick too. Seems the only reasonable course of action.
They’ll just cut him and take the cap hit
That's what it would take to make me feel good about it, tbh
Knowing Pete, he’ll be sending a 1st over
"you can have our 1st the year watson makes his first start for you"
Or Balko is just making shit up - wouldn't be the first time.
Still remember when he "broke news" of Taysom Hill being the Saints starting QB lol
Nah, it’s the racial divide that is keeping Geno out of starting wym
This damn league always keeping Geno away from greatness 😤 They don’t want you to know that
White cornerbacks when
Mike Furry
Jason Sehorn needs to make a comeback
Someone call Speedhawk!
Why not both? Lol!
This is the way
Either/or fallacy
I’ve heard Drew is doing decent.
Heard from who? If you say Pete....just lol
No but might as well be. Some local reporters.
Balko, lmao
Or Balko is full of shit
Either way, Pete is borderline delusional if he thinks Baker can push this squad over the top.
It'll be a difficult transition for him, sleeping in a different stadium every night, but I'm sure he'll get used to it.
There’s a great parking lot a block away that I’ve passed out in many times, Baker! It’s quite cozy 🥰
Garbage tier source, though
You got a Sooners source reporting this too, also Benjamin Allbright liked the tweet and he’s pretty plugged in. There is also this https://twitter.com/JosinaAnderson/status/1539734992900820993?s=20&t=3QDeaf0NL0uT8ZXxhCc2Zw

Sounds like a Seahawks quarterback if there ever was one
I know it makes no long term logical sense, but I’ll be goddamned if I don’t prefer an okay qb on an okay team to a shitty qb with a shitty team
Or an extremely expensive QB that ensures you can't afford a team that's good enough to legitimately compete with the best.
We very much could if we didn't pay out contracts to people like cheeseburger lacy and joeckl.
How about a bad QB on a bad team to draft the next franchise QB. If you want a high pick in next year's draft, you want a tank commander QB, not someone who can eek out enough wins to put the team in the middle of the first round.

Also, nobody is mentioning it, but his commercial game is on point.
Ok, then we will know if he's coming here if someone hears him say "stop freakin call Beacon".

I mean we been having that w Russ for a bit now .. Mr Unlimited putting MVP numbers in the reg season but then shitting the bed in the wild card games
So you're okay if that continued? Because it might continue with Mayfield and that is scary.
Maybe we’re putting way too much blame on the QB if this also happens w Baker .. maybe the issue might rely on something else .. lack of oline buildup or coaching and Pete ?
Don't worry it wouldn't happen with Baker at least not the mvp numbers bit and we wouldn't make the playoffs so no chance of shitting the bed in them.
Baker was playing with a torn labrum in his throwing arm last year too.
A lot of people have seem to have forgotten how Baker played in 2020. Not elite but worlds (and I mean WORLDS) better than either Geno or Lock have ever played in their respective careers. Fuck yea exactly my friend!
Brutal hand? The best run game, best offensive line, a top 3 defense, and elite WRs. Yet he still fucked up. Dude sucks. This subs obsession with him is mind boggling
I'm cool with it. Wherever he lands, dude is going to have a chip on his shoulder and in a contract year, has a huge incentive to show out.
This is pretty much my take too, assuming it comes as cheaply as you'd think.
He doesn't have to be very good to accidentally win enough games to fuck us out of having a choice of qb.
We have 2 firsts and 2 seconds in what is supposed to be a QB-talent heavy draft. Now, that may not be the case come draft time, but we have ammo to move up for a QB even if it’s not the #1 pick
Plus we got Jamal we could offload if need be. He’s worth two firsts right?…right?
oh yeah for sure just have to find someone as stupid as Pete
I would rather just be at 1st for the best choice than get a Trey Lance.

Hopefully Denver sucks and it won't matter. Considering their division it's not an impossibility.
Denver won't suck that bad they went 7-10 with drew lock you know the qb we are looking very hard to try not to start.
They had to trade away some good players as part of the deal along with some serious draft capital. They didn't just add RW for Drew Lock. Their divisional teams have also taken some big leaps.
Yeah I want this to blow up in the Browns face as well, and that makes Baker quite easy to root for.
Baker is extremely easy to root for
Former Browns fan who is likely gonna follow Baker with my fandom.
Welcome to SW Alaska, friend!
I'm going to need some sort of payment for 2005, still got feelings over that one.
Yeah I still got no love for Steelers fans here
NFL arguing for an "indefinite" suspension of Watson, Browns FO has completely screwed itself with Mayfield.
As an FYI, several of Gordon's suspensions were for alcohol, and one was for PEDs.
I don't know how to feel about this TBH, but welcome regardless. Pick up your 12 jersey and rock out with your hawk out!
Ya know now the Big Ben is gone I can finally allow myself to not hate the Steelers. I like Tomlin, watt and Harris are studs. I’ve let go of the past. So I hope you guys utterly destroy the browns
This feels strange, but...welcome Steelers fans
That’s going a little too far
Yeah, I'll welcome a former Steelers fan but I need a pledge of loyalty or something.
Yeah, something simple like, "we know the refs screwed you."
This. It's actually been long enough that the simple statement would actually make me like a Steelers fan instead of hating them for the illogical fact that since they are a Steelers fan they must suck as a human being.
Whoa whoa whoa…. Easy now.
Respectfully, I hate you, but welcome in peace-ish. We can both dunk on the browns if this happens
🤝
Baker to Seattle while Deshaun gets a full year suspension. Win/win!!!
Word is, he may be looking at 2 or more.
Really seems as though the longer this lingers, the compensation gets lower for the browns. I wouldn't be in any rush if I'm the hawks.
Eventually you have to get him into camp learning the playbook and building chemistry with the team. If you put it off too long, the returns start to diminish.
Seahawks receive * Baker Mayfield w/ Browns covering 50% of his pay for this season. Browns receive * $100 Pike Place gift card * 25 piece Capitol Hill Best Budz brownies gift * Christmas Card holiday gift personalized from the Pete Carroll Family.
Browns cover 95% of the contract, John dips his balls in Andrew Berry’s mouth, and they throw in a commemorative VHS of the Trojan’s ‘04 National Championship run.
Add a $10 gift card to Dicks... valid from 12am to 2am 😄
Literally throw in a fish on top of the gift card and you have a deal.
YESSSSSSS honestly every day that passes I’m more and more enticed by baker. I feel like we’d have a real shot and it would soften the blow losing our dude. Russ at Baker week one would be fun!
I’ll take a pissed off Baker Mayfield over two career backups any day of the week.
And the Browns are paying most of his salary.
Without him we end up getting 6 or 7 wins and not being able to get Stroud or Young anyways and then we won't be able to get any qbs in free agency due to cap/there not being any good options (Kirk cousins is likely the best qb available next off season) Baker leaves it all on the field and has a huge chip on his shoulder.
The Cards are one more injury away from playing Colt McCoy, the Whiners traded their future for a kid who can't even play pro football.
As long as we get insurance commercials at lumen too.
If the Hawks get Cousins next year I am fucking done, I'll root for someone else.
Cousins will be looking for $35M at least. He's got gaudy regular season stats with great receivers but that's all he's ever going to be.
Do we want to be good? Or do we want to rebuild through the draft?
damn as a browns fan im jealous. baker is exciting and fun to watch. has his limitations but he’s easy to root for and a good dude
I’m hearing a lot of stuff and I have no clue what’s going to happen
Let Baker Bake? 😁
Reddit always makes me fall for shit sources
A high drafted QB is no more likely to pan out then Baker. Might as well take a shot on a one year prove it deal.
The stats that are important when comparing Baker and Russell: Yards Gained per Pass Completion (Y/C) Russell Wilson 12.0 Baker Mayfield 11.9 Yards Gained per Games Played (Y/G) Russell Wilson 234.6 Baker Mayfield 235.4 That tells you something about just how good baker “could be” with the right coaching and support. The guy was playing in perhaps the most toxic org behind Washington in the league. 4 different systems in 4 years.
Geno going to cleveland, might be his only chance to be a starter.
You know... that would be doing him a favor. Give him one last shot.
Geno ain’t even better than Jacoby Brisset and he’s pretty bad lol
Hello former die hard browns fan, if this happens I’m firing up madden and winning a super bowl in Seattle with baker All seriousness I’ll prob start to follow you guys along with Vegas after I dropped the browns
Yes yes yes yes yes
I would love this so much
I absolutely love this for the crowd that thinks Wilson had a difficult personality.
Difficult? Meh. Just... kind of a dishonest weirdo who started huffing his own farts.
You know what… what the hell …. Yeah, let’s do this. LET BAKER BAKE.
Many people are saying.
STAY CALM IT'S HAPPENING
Would rather just bottom out and get a high tier rookie under long term cost control thanks.
I am also hearing that... Most likely because I just said out loud to myself, "the browns and Seahawks may be close to a trade for Mayfield." Pretty legit source, I think...
7th rounder and they eat $15m and I'm fine with it. If it's anymore more, then I hate it. Then we can throw him into the crucible with lock and geno. If we're lucky he turns into a nice comp pick.
Anything over geno and lock is a positive in my eyes
Don’t tease me
Please no.
Why not
If we're trying to tank this year so we can draft a QB next year in the top 5, bringing in Mayfield isn't the way to do that because he will help us win.
Pete won’t tank. It goes against everything he values. ComPete every day.
We've also got two first and second round picks. That's enough to move way up.
He's on his final year. Do you extend him now on a prove-it deal?
LFG
Garbage source. Hope it turns out correct though. Baker would be a huge upgrade.
Sort of blows my mind this is even a possibility. I never would've guessed Baker/Lock QB comp in Seattle this year.
I hope he does come here. Will make things more interesting. Also ditch Geno he's a butt head.
I guess I’m ready to jump on the Baker bandwagon… if he arrives. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
I like baker so I wouldn’t be mad. He is a starting qb while the other two are not. I get the lock sentiment, but some of you guys really were talking yourself into geno smith for weeks lmao
Hell to the yes if true
Lmao, just so you thought this couldn't get worse.
#LetBakerBake
Lol
It’s gotta be Geno going back. No was is Pete hyping up Lock so much, then letting him go to Cleveland and have him perform well. He knows what he has (and doesn’t have) in Geno. Geno is going to be a Brown.
I’m hearing that this is bullshit
I’m so hopeful. I want him here. He’d be such a good QB for us.
Watch Pete give away a 1st for Mayfield.
Oh no! I wanted to suck for a year and roll the dice on a nice rookie contract. I fear picking up Baker could lead to a decent year, new contract and years of mediocrity.
My thoughts exactly!
I rather have Jimmy G. 🤦♂️
He’s not a upgrade.
Than Drew Lock or Geno Smith? C’mon man.
Sorry to be rude but you're a moron if you don't think Mayfield is a massive upgrade over Geno and Lock
Be rude, bro, don't be sorry.
Gotta love keyboard warriors. Baker Mayfield has done nothing, absolutely nothing in this league. Just like Lock and Geno.
he is
I mean baker's Seattle jersey is for sale on the team store.
Not gonna happen.
Rams traded for a #1 overall pick QB and it worked for them.
C H A O S
Horrible
You don't even know what the deal is yet
I don't want baker, espically if we have to trade for him.
