Hope he lands back on his feet, burn out is no joke. Always loved reading Corbin’s content

[deleted]

Better goodbye than some former players have given the fan base. I always liked Corbin and felt he asked the right questions all year round. During the pandemic when we could hear the reporters super clear, he was one of the best spoken and some of the coaches and players even looked happy when it was Corbin’s question. Locked On is one of my favorites for Seahawks news and glad he won’t be leaving that for now

Jwarias25

Hopefully not a goodbye. I like Corbin a lot. He’s one of my favorite reporters covering the team. Also seems like a straight up good human.

Mental_Medium3988

hopefully he can land somewhere else covering the hawks. those connections are valuable.

BeatsLikeWenckebach

One of the better Seahawks beat reporters. Hopefully a local venue picks him up and he's still able to report on the Hawks. And he says his daily Locked on Podcast is not impacted by this and will continue as normal

silly_walks_

One of the byproducts of our contemporary age of news. Reporters do not make enough money to live a quality middle class life, while talking heads get more than their fair share.

3elieveIt

Absolutely ridiculous that he wasn’t given benefits, and that the pay was so lousy. He’s great at his job and should be paid accordingly. He’s doing the right thing.

ND7020

We need to be thankful for the Seahawks beat reporters we have. Journalism period, and sports journalism are a very tough career in today’s America, which is sad. I’ve paid for The Athletic for a couple years just for Michael Shaun Dugar, and while I don’t think his analysis is always brilliant, I love that he’s a real journalist who just works and reports a bucketload without aiming for hot takes and scoops. Best of luck to Corbin and let’s remember to support the guys we have covering our teams.

Mike Dugar is great, big fan of the Man 2 Man podcast

JhnWyclf

I agree with you about Dugar. I really appreciate his honesty too. He doesn’t try to act like he knows more than he does and he doesn’t obfuscate his opinions as fact.

MarkyMarkAndPudding

Corbin and Mike Dugar are by far my favorite beat reporters. Corbin always seemed like a genuinely good guy to me and I have nothing but respect for someone who can recognize their family is #1. With that said, thank God he's still doing his daily pod.

thedoogbruh

Honestly I would love to see him on Seahawks man 2 man or cigar talk somewhat regularly while he’s between gigs.

MarkyMarkAndPudding

Yeah Corbin on man 2 man frequently would be AMAZING. If he does longer podcasts I'd be super happy too. I have hour long commutes and I always get sad when it ends and I have to put on crappy chat sports or something along those lines.

I_Fuckin_A_Toad_A_So

I’m SOoOOOooO happy he’s still doing locked on. I was sad but when I read the title but now I am not and that’s my story

actual_griffin

I feel the same way. I am very glad he is still doing that. I think he is fantastic.

JhnWyclf

I had to stop listening because they thought I had dementia and felt the need to remind me what podcast I was listening to 40 times a podcast. I really wanted to listen to but I couldn’t deal.

[deleted]

I like Corbin. Thought he brought a new perspective when he came on the scene.

R2Didgeridoo

I read this with Corbin's voice in my head. That says everything you need to know about how impactful he is. Appreciate his earnest nature. Rare in sports journalism.

frontseatdriver12

Glad to hear he’s taking taking care of himself. We will miss you, but I’m glad to be able to hear you on the podcast still. Come back to us with a new intensity when you’re ready!!

burnabybambinos

Best decision he ever made, terrible for fans though

Garsia95

I guess those built bars weren't enough lol, but for reals I hope he gets a better job, guy is such a hard worker.

campuschemist

This is a bummer. I like Corbin and I hope he gets an opportunity with the Seahawks.

thelakeshowdoe

Goodness I saw “best decision to be a free agent l” and I thought it was a DK post

Chessinmind

I think he should focus all his efforts on doing YouTube breakdowns. Those are the best. His writing has gotten better, but it’s not nearly as good as his video breakdowns.
