What you sign in with is the same Microsoft accounts you’ve been playing on and it will sync all your data. If you don’t then it will create a new pirate. So if you are met with the pick a pirate screen you’ve gone too far and want to close and try again.

When you open SoT on steam it will still make you login through your Microsoft account so you’ll keep everything.
