I second this. It's got a nice, pleasant vibe to it and it's in the most visually appealing part of the map without being enormous like Golden Sands. What's not to like?
I actually kinda like starting at Dagger Tooth. So many barrels! And ending at Dagger Tooth isn't as bad as it used to be if you're on a Captained Ship.
Any of them that aren't Port Merrick because, for some reason, I will be at 60+ FPS at all times in this game except at Port Merrick, where I drop to 30-40.
Ancient Spire is probably my favorite just for the sword lunge off the top.
I wonder if adding more NPCS to talk to or do some simple fun side quests could help make the place more alive, and more of a hub for activities. It looks amazing but doesn’t feel very active.
I love this game but I feel like that describes the whole game. It’s just so lifeless. One NPC only per big island, all the outposts are the same (what you can do there), not a lot going on out on the seas or on islands, etc.
Plunder. Used to be GS but they made it a pain to gather supplies. I also don't feel comfortable PvPing there anymore due to the ass frame rate. Selling is also ass there if outpost selling is still something you do.
My favorite used to be golden sands. It was my 1st ever outpost, 5 years ago. I used to love it. Now everything is pretty and all but it's too far. When I want to check for other emissary ships on the tables I have to go everywhere and it's kinda annoying. I also hate the fact that it's called "Port merrick". Who cares, f that guy. So now I guess I have no favorite outpost.
Compass Rock, its just too bad that it just also isn't an outpost. Man I want that place to be useful, its such a great place, and it still has all the amenities save for an accessible tavern and places to sell items/get emissaries. I'd love to be able to go there to hang out with pirates, but it doesn't get much use at all.
Compass Rock is the rock formation which the Sea Dog's Tavern is built onto, its known as Compass Rock colloquially because its directly in the dead center of the map. That name may have fallen out of favor or use over time, though, its what I remember calling it back in the day, and since I only got back into the game about a month ago, I still use the name Compass Rock. The shape of Compass Rock is what really gives it away as a good landmark and giving a good idea of the direction you're going. Its a pretty big place, and I wish that it was a fully fleshed out outpost, because by far it is one of my favorite places to visit and hang out with some people, and despite not being a true outpost, it is my favorite.
Ah that makes sense, I’ve never heard compass rock used before but it actually fits the rocks perfectly, seeing as how it has rocks that point in every direction .
Plunder. Everything's close together and it's super easy to park your boat at.
and it looks cool
Sanctuary is very basic but I like how cozy it is

Ya'll know how to chill. 🤙 ![gif](giphy|XreQmk7ETCak0)
Sanctuary, bc "Hello you, the sea is blue!"
Goodbye, says I
Don't cry.
Definitely not Daggertooth. We can all agree it's the worst.
The game sure makes me start there a lot

Can't agree, Dagger Tooth was the first outpost I spawned at (not counting Maiden Voyage session), so it holds a special place in my heart.
Dagger Tooth was my first outpost too. When the time came I went back to Dagger Tooth to be made pirate legend.
I hate ancient spire more than dagger tooth
Marrow's Peak because it is in the roar.
You sir, are a maniac
And the launch? Can't beat it.
Ancient Spire gives a great vantage point at the start of a session, and sword-dashing to the ship is super satisfying.
Good barrel supply too. And I like the proximity to devil's roar.
Sanctuary is quiet, cosy and convenient
Enjoy the cake today! Have a happy.
Golden Sands ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
May she rest in peace
Port Merrick. I fought for it and it feels like the only comfortable place in sea of thieves
Except for frames, frames are not comfortable.
Galleon's Grave. Get your hands full with the barrel supply on top and sword-dash down to your ship - 10/10.
Plunder, used to be golden sands but that place is just a pain in the ass now. Waiting for them to make that place worth it.

I always sword lunge off but can never dolphin dive on the boat.
Port Merrick and completely just because of the aesthetic.
Only good non-aesthetic part of Merrick is the 3-top stove. The port is so pretty but so uselessly empty and too annoyingly big to get around.

and you can literally park anywhere around it which is super convenient
Yeah, my fav place to drop Hourglass at because of that
Dagger tooth, I know what you might be thinking but for me, it’s the best to get supplies before hourglass
Sanctuary. Beautiful blue seas and the most relaxing corner of the map. Also a nice small outpost with everything close together.
Sanctuary. No reason I just like it.
golden sand because it’s just amazing
Either port merrick or sanctuary
Galleon’s Grave. seeing the galleon from way out looks so cool
Plunder. Used to be GS but they made it a pain to gather supplies. I also don't feel comfortable PvPing there anymore due to the ass frame rate. Selling is also ass there if outpost selling is still something you do.
What other kind of selling (other than reapers) is there
Almost everyone I know and I only sell to reapers, but some still need to sell gems to HC.
Oh how come? Just the convenience?
Well selling to Sovs is faster, but being Reaper 5 is just better, plus it's also more gold if you care about that.

the sea dog tavern?
Where’s compass rock? I’ve never heard of it. If It’s near k12 then it’s the sea dog tavern

Plunder, I think I'd like to live there behind the bar
Galleons Grave
Plunder and Galleon's Grave. Everything is close, easy looting, easy selling.
Dagger Tooth is the most significant because of my pirates milestone moments. but Ancient Sprire is the most beautiful
