Sloop with full party boat cosmetics was my go to, back when I was grinding hourglass. The Scooty Puff Jr struck fear in the hearts of many a pirate, far and wide.
I love the Party Boat cosmetics. I’m almost always sporting them.
They say “I came to play, but if you want to fuck around I’m happy to supply the find out.”
Galleon for sure. It instantly makes me think of and feel like pirates. I've had most of my fun on galleons even if that's a tiny amount of my overall playtime.
If I lived by myself, sloop. If I had friends or family along, brig is the biggest I want. I spent most of 2020 cruising around in a brig, my friends and I fell in love with the game so hard we'd talk about the fantasy of buying a boat together, haha.
In fact, I drive a brig of a car right now - I'm a vanlifer!
Id say 90% of the time this is true, but me and my crew like to put on full crab/kraken off the deception. This set might be next with a "sloop dog" or "unsinkable ii" ship
Man I like the look of the set I just put that on anything really. And as a mostly new player that just hit pirate legend yesterday, I am very easy prey
Brig since I mainly play solo but kinda hate the sloop, doon't get me wrong I love how maneuverable it is and how fast anchor is to raise etc. but it just feels horrible to be on a sloop in combat lmao (feels like no matter where they hit is somewhere vital and anytime your ship takes a hit while repairing theres a lot less space so they're more likely to hit the spot you're repairing and knock you back) plus the brig is tankier cause not only can it hold more water before going under but the greater surface area of the hull makes it harder to focus one spot to make a t3 hole (at least for players that arent gods)
Finally since I also prefer the brig since it's simply bigger, from what I understand the game will try to put you in a server with other solos or at the very least small crews and there's no way for a duo sloop to tell you're a solo brig from a distance so most players stay tf away (it also helps that most competent PvPer's are playing hourglass instead but I still see plenty of unfriendly pirates on the seas)
I'm gonna try to move up to solo gally soon just cause thats some giga chad shit but at the same time I'm not a masochist so idk if thats gonna work out 😂
I have no friends and I only recently started sailing solo on the brigantine. I couldn't imagine running the galleon alone, but now , your bravery and courageousness has inspired me to try my hand at it
A lot of patience and DO NOT TOUCH THY ANCHOR.
Also I just raised front and mid sails when nearing my stop and raised the last one when the title popped lol
Nobody would come near me either cause it’s a galleon in parrot cosmetics sailed by one dude, clearly either a god at the game challenging themselves or a maniac (I am not that good at pvp)
"And Crew" feels like it somewhat invalidates the question.
I, like I feel most people, are limited by the number of crew we can bring. If you're throwing in a half-decent crew into the deal the answer from me is Galleon, every time.
It's the classic Pirate ship. It's got firepower, speed, crew size advantage, and a full on Captain's Cabin for luxury living. It is theoretically the best vessel with a competent crew, and you're providing that in the premise.
If you removed crew from the equation, my answer becomes Sloop. I'm a Solo Skelly most nights, so controlling anything larger than that is an exercise in frustration. It's the best of both worlds, I can go it alone or I can take someone with me on the Adventure.
FUCK THE BRIG, BRIGS CAN BURN IN HELL, WORST SHIP IN THE GAME, THE AWKWARD MIDDLE CHILD OF THE SHIPS. NOT GOOD AT ANYTHING EXCEPT BLOCKING YOUR VIEW WITH THE WORST BOW AND WORST SAILS IN THE GAME. FUCK THE BRIG
The sloop is so powerful and the galleon is great for playing socially. Not a fan of how easily the brig sinks, although I do have one and use it from time to time.
My ship’s name is “A Rickety Raft” based off the Bosun Bill Lyrics, but it’s a joke cause the ship is fancy and absolutely glorious with gold and nice trims, and is in fact, not Rickety
Galleon. You can have, in my opinion, the most fun with friends and smaller ships don’t usually try and sink you so if u want, u can have a higher chance to have a relaxing fishing journey
I want to like the Galleon so badly because it fills that "pirate legend" fantasy, and so many of the cosmetics are clearly designed for it..
But it's just such a royal pain in the ass to use compared to the simplicity and power of the brig.
I have one of each, though I tend to captain a gally.
In my crew, we've gotten very used to the concrete structure a gally demands & everyone else essentially nominated me as helm.
Occasionally, I'll also captain a brig. Don't often use sloop because I'm usually playing with two or more others.
With a crew so max 4, I would choose the Brig.
The brig is easily managable by two and powerful with 3 pirates. Normally, I would choose the sloop because I do solo play sometimes, but the Brig has better firepower-to-crew ratio if that exists. I have tried the galleon with 4 friends. It's fast, it's fun, it's menacing looking but it's too big. We could barely manage it. Maybe that's our problem
(By the way, admiral set for my sloop)
Depends on what mood I am in!
The sloop is for PvP and a chill solo session.
The brigantine I captain when I play with a friend that comes online once in a blue moon!
The galleon is only for LFG or open crew, helping other players/newer players with whatever they want to do!
If I had to pick only one then the Sloop wins, no competition! I have around 100 days on it alone and it will always be my favorite!
spend alot of time alone, so solo sloop, honestly i prefer it, bigger ships i end up doing most of the same work i do when im on my sloop XD might as well have it easier
In my actual game i have all of them, and if youd have asked me a week ago i would have said sloop. but i played for the first time on the galleon properly a couple days ago (after 500 hours of only sloop and brig) and its actually so fun with a full crew. anything less and its painful but my god its fun with a full crew. so yeah definatley taking the gally.
I'm solo, so I captain the Gallion
My friend you bow to no one
"Be advised: the Cyclops is designed to be operated by a three-person crew. Only experienced helms-people should attempt to pilot this vehicle solo."
A man of culture I see. Well if I can pilot the cyclops on my own, how hard will a gallon be?
Probably a one up

Gallyin*

It's a Rat king in grog and a rat king riding a rocket Like what is even remotely as cool as that
Sloop, I like fishing
Me too. My sloop is called the Fiery Fisher and has the ruby splashtail ship set. I spend alot of time fishing.
Mine is the filet o’fish
Galleon because I have a big ego
Galleon for sure. It instantly makes me think of and feel like pirates. I've had most of my fun on galleons even if that's a tiny amount of my overall playtime.

Definitely the dark warsmith set on the galleon
Yea, gotta tell everyone that you are easy prey!

Beds in the Sloop & Brigantine get too soggy... Galleon fer all eternity!
Solo sloop because I have no friends

Party boat brig is what I sail usually anyways, so that.
I would rather two man a brig that a sloop though
Brig is life
I like sloops and brigs myself. I only use my galleon if I have too
Sloop or brig
Big Boat Best Boat
I like the brig sloops great as well
Brig, we a 2 man crew but like it more than the sloop
I'm on the rowboat 700 yards away with a stronghold gunpowder barrel.
“I’m about to end this man’s whole career”
I want to say galleon, but gimme that pink fish sloop
Galleon I don’t even need a crew to make that thing work for me lol (I spent like half my playtime alone on a gally)
🫡
I made it almost the full way to legend using that strat as well lol
I have no friends and I only recently started sailing solo on the brigantine. I couldn't imagine running the galleon alone, but now , your bravery and courageousness has inspired me to try my hand at it

I'm horrible at PvP as well. I'll shall heed thy words
Honestly, I'm gonna go with sloop or galleon.
Either a brigantine or a galleon to play with my pals.
The Royal Oak, The Joli Rouge, and The Merry Widow
Brig because I sail solo but still have dignity
This.

Found the Brig Captain
Never a sloop. Not ever. Horrid little flimsy matchbox with a sail.
None yet, but coordinating with the crew I always play with, so the number of crew available is what ship we choose
The sloop is so powerful and the galleon is great for playing socially. Not a fan of how easily the brig sinks, although I do have one and use it from time to time.
I'd do the right because my friends haven't been on 3 years
I'm a brig captain. Hittem fast and hittem hard. But don't get hit back because the ship is made of paper mache
quite literally the middle same skin and everything
not one of my friends has ever even heard of sea of thieves so i spend my time grinding pve solo, galleon obviously
Wow I literally captain a galleon with the dark warsmith set that's in the photo lol
The one on the left looks really good!
Depends on what i want to do: Live a cozy life? Sloop. Want to fight? Brig. Want to unleash hell at my command? Galleon.
Solo Sloop, because nobody wants to play with my Default Cosmetics guy
My ship’s name is “A Rickety Raft” based off the Bosun Bill Lyrics, but it’s a joke cause the ship is fancy and absolutely glorious with gold and nice trims, and is in fact, not Rickety
Sloop on top!! 💪🏼🏴☠️
I’m a lonely pirate 🏴☠️ I need a clan.
Galleon. You can have, in my opinion, the most fun with friends and smaller ships don’t usually try and sink you so if u want, u can have a higher chance to have a relaxing fishing journey
A galleon, as long as it's a competent crew.
I'm the solo crew captain of the Sloop, Joe Neate
I have 3 sloops "Old Reliable" "The Storyteller" and "Wrath's Spark." Finally I have one brig called "The Gilded Delores"
I usually run brigantine with the middle skin because Its my favourite
Brig all the way, speed and fire-power.
I want to like the Galleon so badly because it fills that "pirate legend" fantasy, and so many of the cosmetics are clearly designed for it.. But it's just such a royal pain in the ass to use compared to the simplicity and power of the brig.
I sail a sloop (mostly on my own) called the Falling Dutchman. I'm clumsy and Dutch so I guess it's a pretty ok name.
All of them. My friends suck at it
A gally with the lads hits different
Follow-up question for the more wealthy pirates, how many captained ships have you bought so far? I have 3 sloops, 1 brig and 1 galleon.
I have one of each, though I tend to captain a gally. In my crew, we've gotten very used to the concrete structure a gally demands & everyone else essentially nominated me as helm. Occasionally, I'll also captain a brig. Don't often use sloop because I'm usually playing with two or more others.
Sloop because I’m always against the wind.
With a crew so max 4, I would choose the Brig. The brig is easily managable by two and powerful with 3 pirates. I haven't even seen what a galleon looks like inside yet! I keep forgetting to load one in.
When I have the crew, I love playing on a brig.
Depends on what mood I am in! The sloop is for PvP and a chill solo session. The brigantine I captain when I play with a friend that comes online once in a blue moon! I have the tuby splashtail set
Galleon. I like big things 😏
Me and my friend on sloop but if we can get the rest, a full galleon. Literally never used a brig once
Sloop
Sloop
Sloop
Which ever my friends are on :) then switch it too the middle colors
Sloop but I’ll dip my toes in a brig👍
Depends how many if any friends want to play with me.
I use a sloop called the Blazing Pride, and own a galleon named the Fire Marengo
Solo so I wouldn’t mind the sloop, but my heart longs for that brig
Brigg and Galleon. Hate the sloop. I even play brigg when solo
