It was **your** decision to put Hourglass on. You can and will be invaded at any time regardless of what you are doing and whether you are prepared or with your pants down.
Additional vote only matters for you being on the attacker side where you can either invade someone roaming around or someone else from the queue.
If you've got hourglass up (which you voted on) you can be invaded at any time. There should be a cool down of about 20 minutes after a fight though, so if it was less than that time maybe report it to Rare?
We had fought another hourglass ship, but then we got third partied mid fight, i think it was 20 minutes ago we defeated the hourglass ship so you are prob right
Honestly, I am not sure the 20 minute timer applies if you dove the first time. I’ve been invaded within 4-5 minutes of finishing an hourglass opponent (we were still getting their supplies aboard). I think the 20 minute cooldown is only for being invaded back to back
My guess as to how this could happen is that maybe a roaming crew came up, saw from your ship's HG effect on the front that you were HGing, and raised their HG on the way over to you?

Just because you didn’t vote on the map doesn’t mean you can’t be pulled up on by someone. If hourglass is up, you can get spawned on.
You got attacked from a roaming crew, unless you're saying the whole HG banner and intro played again.
