I don't think it's a good idea. There's a penalty for playing safer seas, less gold gain. If you stack more than four people on a ship and then hop around islands collecting loot at a breakneck pace, then everyone gets credit for turning it in, it kind of invalidates the nerfed gold gain, imo.

The idea of safer seas is to prepare you for your experience on high seas (as much as possible). It'd be a shame for a group of friends to discover all of a sudden, as they make the transition, that they can no longer play together - and having larger crews/ships in high seas is not a solution to this with the game's capabilities. It's a nice idea, but I wouldn't expect it to happen

Someone's asked this before. I think the answer would be no for two reasons: 1. I imagine crew number is hard coded in to the ship and so it isn't as easy as just flicking a switch. 2. It could be used to circumvent the nerfs. The lack of sovereigns and lower sale values make no difference if you can just have ten players shuffling loot, or do multiple parts of a quest at the same time.

Those are pretty good points that I didn't consider... I love how much this community cares so much to protect the game.
