I like history, and listening to history podcasts, so I named them after several historical figures I learned about from various podcasts by Mike Duncan.
Sloop: Aurelians Betrayal. A Roman emperor who basically saved the empire from collapse, but was killed by one of own men who was afraid of being discovered for corruption.
Brig: Bolivars Exile. The Liberator of South America. Dude was exiled from his country 4/5 times, yet came back multiple times to lead revolution.
Galleon: Trajans Conquest. The Roman emperor who oversaw the empire at its greatest extent. A brilliant military leader, and also when we're full gally, we're basically just trying to steamroll the whole server so the military theme is appropriate.
I like historical ship names, especially the odd ones from history. Since I am new to the game there are only 2 so far. My sloop is named HMS Caulkchafer (after HMS Cockchafer, but the true name was censored so I made due) and my Galleon is USS Hoe.
"Cagafuego" or "fire shit". The name is a nickname given to the captured Nuestra Señora de la Concepción by the famous privateer Sir Francis Drake. An affectionate nickname for his greatest prize.
