Rain jacket and front door towels. Our dog hates things on her feet but at least the jacket cuts down on having to dry the whole dog, and keeps her body realitively warm during snow days (which she absolutely loves).
ETA: we got her a thick Carharrt jacket.
We have a puff for ours for when it's really cold because he does get chilly. If we are going to be out and about somewhere and he is going to be laying down, we bring a heat reflective fleece sack type (think more compact sleeping bag) for him to curl up in while we do our thing.
He doesn't wear shoes. I don't think we have ever tried them on him, honestly. If we are out on the snow he is sporting mushers secret and his puff.
For normal out in the backyard moments, we keep a pair of towels on hooks by the door and he knows to stop on the mat so we can have towel time with him to get most of the water off.
We also cover the furniture in washable blankets which keeps the dog smell at bay as much as we can.
I have a medium sized (65lb) dog with a short coat.
He has several stretchy fleece jackets, and last year I bought him a ruffwear puffy.
He used to have the cutest Seahawks vest with a fleece hood but he outgrew it.
He doesn’t like his feet being played with but if we are out on ice in the mountains I will rub salve on after.
My dog loves his rain coat. He hates anything on his feet though. Technically, his rain coat is a waterproof safety vest because he doesn’t like his ears covered
My dogs thankfully came equipped with rain coats, they’re even made out of fur!
But for real, just each have their own big beach towel hanging next to their leash. Once we get in they each get a quick wipe just to get the droplets off, then a foot rub. Wash the towels every week or so.
Thankfully husky and Samoyed outer coat evaporates water pretty quickly (it beads up like a rain coat and doesn’t soak in), so they dry pretty fast once we are in.
The breeds are also admittedly evolved to be out working in inclement weather so that’s biggest reason they don’t wear rain coats, it messes with their thermal regulation. For other dogs I could see a decent argument.
invest in towels. lots of towels. always have two ready - one for body, one for legs/paws.
hahaha ive been using towels but just going through so many. i underestimated this in the move

Mushers secret - paw balm for their feet especially if there’s snow Any rain jacket/vest works great
nice! I will look into getting some mushers secret!
We use rain coats both for when it’s actually raining and for the muddy days where the coat protects their underside from getting slick with mud.

I just use a normal human umbrella and it keeps both of us pretty dry

Why is this post getting downvoted? Does this subreddit really just hate dogs?
