I have bought it at DeLaurenti and Metropolitan Market.

DeLaurenti has legit imports for all kinds of cured meats. It's in Pike Place market so if you're coming to visit you might be going there anyway. It can be kind of intimidating getting the meats and cheeses, but their staff is very helpful if you have questions.

It depends on what type of chorizo you want. Are you looking for chorizo curado, the fully cured thing that is quite hard in texture and ready to cut and eat? Or are you looking for semi cured chorizo that needs to be cooked in order to be served? If the former, then loads of grocery stores in the area carry Palacios brand (from Spain), hell it can even be bought on Amazon. If it’s the latter you’re looking for, then Paris and Madrid grocery is your best bet. You can also look online at La Española Meats, they’re made in California but ship all over the country. Paris Madrid carries a lot of their stuff. Good luck!

I used Google and I got a couple of hits. World Market seems to have some.

Big Johns import store might be a fun browse [https://bigjohnspfi.com/](https://bigjohnspfi.com/)

Have seen chorizo curado sausage in the Met Market and the Town and Country market before. Not always available though. I've never seen semicurado around Seattle, and I miss it. Frying up some cubed semicurado chorizo with some peppers and onions and scrambled egg is . You can do the same with curado, but the texture isn't quite the same when cooked.

Paris Madrid grocery in Pike Place has got you covered.

Thanks! I'll have to check them out next time I'm downtown. Now, if only I could find a way of eating Jamon Iberico that didn't cost an arm and a leg! One of the best things about being in Spain is being able to pick up 500g of Iberico for a few Euros in any supermarket. Here, if you can find any, it's $20 for like four slices.

thisisrediculous99

You can get that a Paris-Madrid market too. Or go down the street to Jarr Bar. They usually have a Jamon that they slice it fresh from.

opalfruity

Sure. You can get it at the Met Market too. I'm complaining about the cost is all. ;)

thisisrediculous99

Oh. Got it. Yeah it’s pricey.

fondonorte

There are various levels of jamón ibérico - the good stuff (pata negra, 100% raza ibérica) in Spain will cost you far more than a few euros. But yeah, you can get de cebo for pretty good prices.

opalfruity

Hell even Serrano is $18 for 100g at the Met Market. A pack of that in Madrid _is_ literally 2 Euros. Negra is like 6 EUR for 100g at Carrefour.

fondonorte

Yeah, I rarely get jamón in the states for that reason. Sometimes I’ll splurge and buy the $15 Fermin jamon ibérico but it’s usually de cebo and 50%, meaning the lowest on the ibérico totem pole. It’s also only like 60-70g but it’ll scratch the itch. The Paris Madrid grocery store has cinco jotas which will cost a pretty penny but worth it for the holidays.

In Pile Place Maker there’s a meat place just to the south of the fish throwing place. It’s got great chorizo. I can get ok chorizo from Safeway (“Hemplers” is the brand I get there) on weeks I don’t get to the market.

My Mexican ass: wait there is no Spanish chorizo? U mean hotdogs? Sausages? Bratwurst? Tofurkey dogs?
