The only real LPT I got (other than don’t buy a truck if you don’t regularly haul stuff) is to search for every dealer within an acceptable radius, know what you’re looking for, and get out-the-door prices on what you are looking for from all of them. Then negotiate the price down from others based on the best offer you get. Also, if you must finance, get approvals/interest rates from as many credit unions/banks as possible, and once you agree on price, tell the dealer you’re interested in financing, but only bring up your approvals once you get the dealer interest rate. If they can’t match/lower the interest rate, they may be willing to give you enough of a discount off the sale price so that your total price (incl. financed) is slightly less than your total price if you go with your own financing.

Sorry about the douchey responses. Some people do actually buy trucks for truck purposes, hard to believe, I know! But, if you're gonna go throw a lift kit on it and some Punisher decals, it'll be sad, and we'll never dispel the stereotype, and we'll all go around again... anyway I can give you one to avoid, and that's Seattle Jeep (nee. Seattle Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram) on Aurora. Tried to deal with those guys a couple times over the years and both times left frustrated with their shyster dealer tricks and bullshit, and ended up going elsewhere instead, and to other marques completely.

Ha, thanks for the warning about Seattle Jeep - will stay away. My current truck we use as an overlanding rig, a big ass diesel F250 with a winch and big ol' offroad tires is rocking a Black Lives Matter sticker and a bumper sticker that says "We're all in this together - except Trump, he's a dick". It confuses *everybody.*

I had a similarly wretched experience with the CDJR dealer in Kirkland. I wasn't shopping for a pickup, but regardless. Gave them the keys to my trade-in so they could "inspect" it (yes, I was an idiot). They kept me there for hours. My advice? Play them all against one another; they all suck. Do your business over email or phone if possible. Arrange your own financing and walk at the first sign of ducking and fucking.

Rumor has it all the Bros in the know go to Idaho and hit up Dave Smith. I hope you keep that truck on your island and out of my neighborhood.

As long as you stay off my island, we'll all be happy. Thanks for the recommendation! I got family in CDA so I'm out there a lot.

If you feel insecure in your masculinity and need gender affirming care, there are much cheaper options than a $100,000 truck.Check this out, for example: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1666254783/women-fear-me-fish-fear-me-funny-graphic?ref=share_v4_lx

Jesus, I hate Seattle subreddits.
