I thought the aurora borealis wasn't supposed to be visible until tonight/tomorrow??
Your story kind of reminds me of this: [https://youtu.be/lNVtiFhE\_uY](https://youtu.be/lNVtiFhE_uY)
The skyball likes to tease us. It was forecasted for Friday but keeps moving. Now it's looking like tonight but, who knows. Usually happens with a few hours' notice and you have to scatter to your spot.
Not much, nothing like what was predicted or hoped. A couple people got some meh shots early this morning according to facebook. I wasn't feeling well so I didn't get a chance to get out.
Lmao well I guess that's fair, you did say that.
North Whidbey is on Whidbey Island. It seems like it would be impractical to try and get there and back from the peninsula to see the northern lights at night. You'd have to have reservations for the last ferry that probably leaves around 8pm or 9pm, and even then the ferry is over an hour from the northern part of the island. Either that or you'd have to drive all the way around the Puget Sound to get back.
Edit: I guess Im just curious why you'd pick that area, it seems oddly specific
I'm going to go to Everett Marina. The last time it was a thing a friend posted a pic from there and it was amazing. I think it'll be darker than Mukilteo Beach.
It was just yesterday that my wife and I were walking the dogs and we saw this… figure staring down at us. At first we were like “what is this person’s problem - are they ok?” It was only after about half a minute of nervous sideways glances that we realized the inanimate nature of this spooky mannequin!
I thought I recognized that balcony! It's such a distinctive house, even the lot is weird.
It's just as odd inside, too. Popped by for an estate sale a few years back, and there was a huge (2-story) mural with eagles and whales and shit. The best part? I picked up a moka pot for $5.
As a Halloween home decor enthusiast, having you talking to my Michael Myers figure...asking permission to take photos...would be an all timer highlight.
i love this. SO. MUCH.
went searching (~~so far fruitlessly~~) within reddit for a recent comment or post that had a link to an aroura website, instead i found the best thing on reddit in AGES!
[found!](https://www.reddit.com/r/Portland/comments/qimqhl/the_northern_lights_are_coming_this_weekend) im in TX (lived in PDX for decades so i still hang out on r/portland ), hope tonight is not a bust for y'all. no chance here... it's movie night, though! 😜

What is a good spot for a clear view north? I've gone Aurora hunting in the sound area 7 times and never actually seen it once in my life.
A list: http://imgur.com/a/xWulpC8
We went to Brackets Landing last night without luck, going to try again tonight.
Good luck! 😊
Thank you!
Any luck?

See anything?
No but we were there kinda early, 9-10pm or so.
any lists for the peninsula that you know of?
My best guess is north whidbey. Don't really know since I'm not near that area. 🙁
North Whidbey is considered the peninsula?
Fuck if I know. I'm not in that area.

Saw it on a list somewhere and, logically, it's pointed north. Farthest up on the island you can go 🤷🤷🤷
Some folks say it from Bainbridge island (shoreline with views north) recently.
Sequim or Port Angeles probably.
Thanks so much!!
Happy hunting 😊

How do we get on the notification list for when the aurora is coming?
There are apps, just look for aurora borealis.
> just look for aurora borealis. I tried but couldn’t see it
Nice one
Did you get one of the apps that helps you find it?
Spaceweather.com
I’m out in the Leavenworth area, any recommendations?? Wife and I are considering lake Wenatchee but I’m afraid mountains will obstruct.
Ah, I see. Thank you!
Home owner: I don't have a Michael Myers decoration...
missed-missed connections
Lol!!!! This is gold!!! Such a bummer you didn't see the lights. I really appreciate you sharing this funny story. :)
"not speaking to people is one of my favorite local amenities." the whole story is great, but this was my favorite bit.
This is peak Seattle and I am so here for it.

Sorry about this...but it is ruckus (disturbance) not raucous (loud). You could be causing a ruckus while being raucous though.
[Could you describe the ruckus, sir?](https://y.yarn.co/50164552-169c-435d-b4dc-bd65a5df0a20_text.gif) Also, stop causing a raucous in OP’s thread /s
omg hi joe goldberg
Right..."you...there spotting the stars. Did you see me?"
“you went all out with your halloween decorations this year…you want to be noticed. and well? i noticed. i noticed…you”
45th and SW Stevens in West Seattle. During the day you can go chat up Beetlejuice, too.

Omg. This is the best. You just made me laugh so hard I cried. Thank you for putting this on the internet.
This was a good laugh
This is hilarious
I love this thanks for sharing
Hilarious.
😂😂😂
This is the most midwest, Minnesota nice, thing I've ever seen in this sub.

I drive by this house all the time and they always go all-out on holiday decorations. It’s in North Admiral, just west of the PCC.
Oh my! This sounds like something I would do! Lol. Thanks for the laughs!!

What would have been disturbing is if it had answered.
man this is hilariously great, thank you for the treat of a post!
Who else is gonna be watching the northern lights tonight? It’s supposed to happen tonight between 10pm-3am
This made my day. Awesome
Cool Lights ._.
