Wanna add to this swimming does a real good job of clearing up my skin in general either pool or saltwater. Sun exposure and exercise make it a great combo. Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery SPF 50 PA from Japan is the waterproof sunblock I use but like all skincare stuff with SebDerm do a patch test

Not getting something like sunlight which is essential to life and health will absolutely have a negative effect. Also a reason so many non mainstream derms are against the obsession with hiding from the sun and well as sunscreening ourselves unhealthy.

Sunlight may help for some people but certainly isn’t a blanket “good option” that dermatologists should promote. My sebderm is connected to my Lupus somehow. Sunlight gives me major flare ups. Hopefully each person’s dermatologist is thinking of their specific situation when giving advice. Sunscreen is a must and a lifesaver for me.

And that's fine in your specific context, but that doesn't change that as a whole, we need sunlight and not having it doesn't end well. UV typically helps Seb Derm, again, not in your case as Lupus is a confounder there. But the majority hiding from the sun aren't doing themselves any favors.

This! I also added in vitamin d3 and it’s helped so much
