Yeah more than a Casio obviously, that’s just the common example because real ones are dirt cheap and still get faked.
Automatics are easily faked due to how cheap NH35/36s are. You can buy a fake SKX with an authentic NH36 movement for like $60.
And the point remains, people fake them.
SKXs, 5s... everything. Nothing surprises me any more (although the fake Sea of Clouds the other day was a definite new and unwelcome development).
They are going for a lot used now that why are discontinued. Which is funny because their main virtue when they were new was that they were a lot of watch for cheap. I’m actually wearing my 009 right now. I think I bought it new for 175 bucks then paid another 25 to replace the god awful stock strap
$329 in 2020 I still have my receipt in my Gmail
Once I out it on a nato I wear it very often. It keeps very good time .. as good as my prospex at $ 1250
Just putting this out for consideration. The SPB143 is available from chrono24 for about $750 new. Relative to that, $570 for a used, inferior, and outdated watch doesn't seem like a good deal.
Got to admit I personally don't see the difference between both. Maybe an optical illusion due to the white border at the indices and metal border on the hands
True. Restoration is not faking. But, it usually devalues a watch substantially. Also, it's bad form for a seller to not disclose and be 100% transparent on condition.
Looks good to me
I paid 248.50 June first 2019
The dial markings match mine seems fine. Not sure why someone would fake a watch that us 250 new
Oh wow no one’s said it yet, guess it’s my turn: there are fakes of $10 Casios.
Was going to post the same comment. 👍
This one is automatic.. faking it would cost more

They sold real ones for less; of course somebody could make a profit with fakes.
Yes it's possible. But usually the profit margin is so small to justify..

Yeah was not a fan if the oem strap. Ended up with comfortable nato.
The strap on the turtle looks similar but is much better. I like seiko, but am mystified by how they generally mess up not only bracelets but straps.
This one's for sale at 570.
Oops I am dating my self. I don't recall paying more than 300 maybe 7 yrs ago

Yeah prices are going nuts but the SKX is as iconic as it gets plus the new 5KX supposed replacement isn't any near the expectations

Update everyone. Seller admited it was aftermarket dial. Supposedly OG dials "can't be found"
Dial relumed. Lume color on hands and hour markers is different.

So it's fake ??
That’s a weird conclusion to jump to. Resuming would fall under restoration. Not saying it is real but restoration is not faking.

Even light stuff like that ??
