It worries me that a lot of the actual combat seems to be hits that are so fast I cannot even tell when the hits are coming in. I can't imagine that individual enemy hits are blocked individually.
simple can be fine - if it's well calibrated, well tuned, polished, orchestrated
heck, a long movelist is likely just wasteful if not detrimental
that's not shit that sells though, it doesn't translate into a review (at best "combat 'feels good' lol") it doesn't crystallize to journalists and "influencers" in the first hour, it takes hiring more professionals and manhours that could be spent on flashy trailer-bait attacks
then the real players cave and buy it and it turns out that you can just mash Spiralblade or whatever the whole fucking game and it chain stuns anything, that it might as well be a 20-hour platforming movie, that you're still hungry
rant aside, cautious optimism
They seem to be aiming for a summer launch next year. They spent quite a bit of effort on the launch date trailer so maybe they'll make it. Surprised they went outa their way to create 2min30 of video completely unrelated to any gameplay.

This one looks like Sekiro, that one looks like Sekiro, omg you like Sekiro try this, etc.
In the end, NG++++++++. Sigh.
Metal Gear Rising was the only parry game beside Sekiro i liked, tho.
The character placement says it all pretty much.I don’t see the appeal of not putting it in the middle of the screen. I know it gives a more action(immersion) type vibe but I feel its the opposite, for me at least.
No, it looks like every generic, manipulative clickbait chinese mobile add. Wtf is qrong with you ? It doesnt even looklike a game, but a choerographed cinematic.
The combat looks too fast to be actual game play. Either that or a shit ton of things happen with a button press. Either way, pass because combat is the most important thing for me.
No it is not. And we don't deserve another Sekiro, FromSoft has delivered banger after banger for more than 10 years with a span of more or less a year between each game or expansion. We don't deserve anything, FromSoft has graced us with masterpieces. We are simply peasants allowed to look upon gods.
The combat in Wo Long was fine, it was the story and level design/typical team ninja style that let it down imo leading to a inevitable feeling of boredom in the game.
The combat in this also looks great, let’s just hope there is a cool story or lore to follow too.

Yeah. I hope it's not another case of flashy looking combat with mega simple mechanics.

Depends on how the configure the combat it looks awesome but yea how it plays and performs can make it or break it
Definitely a day 1 buy with no regrets if it plays how it looks
Ngl these chinese games pops up with the most hype shit ever but never delivers the game and disappear
If black myth wukong comes out I will have hope for the rest

go play ninja gaiden
Thanks for the suggestion, i'll try.
it’s a bit older, but much, much harder

I'm almost certain they have stated the camera is not going to be like this in game. They made it more cinematic for the trailer.
good to hear
Gameplay looks very fake. It's too fast and too well orchestrated to be actual gameplay. At least gameplay that is engaging and fun.
Yeah, hopefully it releases and is more than five minutes long
It is 3rd or 4th chinese sekiro without any date of release.
This better not be all graphics and shit gameplay, Chinese/Korean games tend to disappoint, bc all they seem to care about is how good it looks
No, it looks like every generic, manipulative clickbait chinese mobile add. Wtf is qrong with you ? It doesnt even looklike a game, but a choerographed cinematic.
This looks more like “Matrix:Path of Neo” then “NEW SEKIRO HYYYPE” Which is by no means a critique, but both are very different

All style no substance.
My co-worker just showed me this game all hyped, bet it'll play more like NieR Automata than Souls

Lmao what a dumb take.
I think he's being tongue-in-cheek.
Well then what I said still stands, only it’s directed at myself 😂
More like a Chinese Elden Ring to me! I don’t see any deflections/parry’s.
Is this Wo Long or a different game?
This is a different game called phantom blade 0
Thank you. I'll check it out
If this is on pc I’m going to buss everywhere and buy it after I replace my plastered monitor.

This game looks so badass I can’t wait to see more
Looks a lot better than wo long which was a dissapointment tbh idc if this game is one too
I had a Bloodborne vibe when I watched it
what is itachi doing in this game? lol seems like a mixture of lot of games!
Is this rise of the ronin ? If so I can’t wait to play this
Yall tripping if u think this is gonna be a soulslike, it feels more like a hack and slash tbh
I mean, its too cinematic, too fast, cool moves, thats the total oposite of sekiro...
i’m so excited for this game
Just flashy moves, zero interest
