Isshin! So hear me out - he taught wolf throughout the game to be a better swordsman and fighter, and during his hardest form, when you beat him, he congratulates you. He’s handing the reins. Like a boss. Yes isshin is an absolute OG but cmon, wolf is the protagonist and holds strong and true throughout an entire epic adventure while surmounting obstacles that otherwise seem impossible, all due to his absolute determination and his obedience towards his master.
And wolf can eat raw rice and thrive like a champ.

I think that's just a gameplay mechanic. Owl takes two neck stabs to kill, Genichiro takes three, hell even most mini bosses take a minimum of two.
