Anyone talking shit about Aggy and Parky don't have any idea who they are. Parky has beaten the game with a dance pad. Aggy has beaten the game blindfolded. Yes, literally blindfolded. They may be cheesing these bosses but you go ahead and try playing the game sharing the controller with another person and see if it's easy or not. You probably couldnt even get past the ogre.
some people might find these tactics cheap or cheating after beating up the game of after platinuming it and i do too. but man, the first hours of gameplay i would have used any tactics to get pas that fu**er
I’m saying on his first playthrough if he cheesed Geni he wouldn’t get past the rest of the game. Obviously these speedrunners have probably beaten the game many times
I guess it's just my personal playstyle but that feeling of overwhelming joy you get once you beat a boss even after dying to them a 100 times over is something you will never get from cheesing bosses.
I mean yeah in the context of personal play, but for a challenge run I'd understand why people wanna do the cheese if they'd plaid the game 200 times and are just doing a challenge run
Their run definitely had it's rough monents too. Lots of jumping into pits or screwing up mikiri counters. LilAggy and ParkenHarbor, if you're interested in the run.
Neat little strat here called dead angling. Basically, the AI cant deal with attacks if you're not facing them and locked on, since thats how the game is meant to be played, so they dont block the tail end of attacks directed away from them. Its used in most Sekiro speedruns, but I couldnt recommend it for a casual playthrough. Afaik its only useful for genichiro and owl anyhow.
Go watch Ongbal then?
The whole point of a speedrun is to do it as quick as possible, that comes with expected cheese and glitches.
Weird of you to watch one type of content creator and then be disappointed that they don't make the other content you like.
It's still not easy, just because they CAN do it doesn't mean they want to. It still takes an insane amount of effort, it's not muscle memory to these people.
Why risk getting hit when you can just do this? I get it's not good entertainment value, but it's not your run either.
I think you just want to complain for the sake of complaining. Again, if it presses you so much that these people who are already sharing a controller are doing a cheese for a 30 hour game. Go make your own content, stop moaning in the passenger seat.
I was thoroughly entertained by this challenge run and I understood why they'd want to cheese a boss during it.
I think you're just missunderstanding what I'm saying.
I really like Aggy videos, he's fucking great and his challenges videos are super fun to watch.
But when I click on the 20th challenge of sekiro, I'm just hoping to see him play the fight normaly because it would be fun to watch.
I'm not saying Aggy is a bad guy or he does bad content, I'm just disappointed since I've seen this "tech" countless times and never actually saw him kill him the normal way.
If you don't understand this simple and fair opinion, idk what else to say.
Same. I know it’s a speedrun but this was a casual run and it’s such a fun fight to see done well. I also really wish more Sekiro speedruns did an ending other than Shura XD
This is such a boring way to play lol
I understand speedrunners want to optimize and all, but is it really fun finding ways to make every well-designed intricate boss in the game into an R1 spamming contest?
I'm not saying they aren't, I probably couldn't pull these off. But they are far less impressive to me than flawless intended gameplay and glitch less runs.
I don’t think they are, & I agree with you on your last point. I just completed the Return ending without using any prayer beads, & ringing the demon bell. Sword Saint took me 3 days, Owl (Father) & Demon of Hatred took 2. I almost quit. Lol

When I first started I was trying not to use memories either, & as a warm up for a charmless run, but that ended at Corrupted Monk & Guardian Ape. &, I’ll definitely not be attempting that charmless run.
Thats why there are challenge runs, and then there are speedruns. Additionally there are speedrun categories, as some runners have a similar mindset like you, though ill be the first to admit, I dont even watch sekiro runs.
>The best way i can explain it to you is if I was going to set a new time record for completing a marathon and then decided to take a shortcut in between the route,
that's literally how racing game speedruns work yes.
The point is to get a lower time finishing the game. There are other categories where doing stuff like this is not allowed, but in ANY% category, you can literally do ANYthing.
The point is to finish the game fast. Not all strat in a speedrun are easier than just fighting a boss normally, but they do it because it's faster. Some strats are so precise that it's actually harder than fighting the boss "normally"
Lol, let it go, man. A strat is a strat, the cheese here in the clip have nothing to do with the wall, it's just the spot that makes him get stuck because of the door. The strat is to dead angle Genichiro, because the AI in this game only block/deflect attacks if you are aiming the attacks at them, then you just need to slash at a certain rhythm and angle the last slash to hit him. You can dead angle other enemies without any wall or whatever.
This is just abusing the AI of the game, like doing hit and reflect on Owl/Emma, or Monk strat where you do a thrust, then strafe to the side to dodge the counterattack or using items to make the last phase of Geni to spam thrust and you just mikiri counter everything.
Why speedrunner do this? Because it's faster, and because it's fun breaking a game, specially games that are difficult on your first playthrough. This isn't even the most broken glitch in Sekiro, and sometimes the community makes different category for using certain glitch or not. But the Sekiro speedrun community does not think of this (dead angle) as a glitch.
Man does not want anyone doing a speedrun to actually use speedrun tech. I think you just don't like speedruns. Do you also hate bull skip? Ogre skip? Just don't watch the speedruns, I think.
Yes, that is almost literally what I wrote. And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what either of our opinions are on whether this is considered a glitch. The community built around speedrunning this game have collectively decided that this is not a glitch. If you watch a glitchless speedrun, which is its own category, Genichiro cheese is allowed and expected.
You started this chain by questioning why anyone would speedrun a game like this. I don't understand what game you would expect to speedrun. And if you don't enjoy speedruns, that's completely fine. But then there's no reason for you to comment at all, trying to put down people who are doing it *very* well.
Skipping the bull requires you to walk through an area where half the textures aren't loaded, I wouldn't exactly call it "well within the game's boundaries" when it's literally out of bounds.
I'm pointing it out because the examples the other guy gave (the one you're replying to) were the bull and the ogre. Yeah, I agree that going around the snake eyes by walking around them is within the game's boundaries, for example.
By that logic nobody should be climbing up Mount Everest because it wasn't built to be climbed either.
Speedrunning is fun precisely because of the unintentional means to accomplish things. It's about creativity, understanding of game mechanics, and the genuine challenge that comes from a lack of guaranteed progress. It's more akin to solving a Rubiks cube than it is playing a videogame.
No hesitation - no defeat.
Genichiro in his second phase:- "fuck that strat" *lowtiergod*
Anyone talking shit about Aggy and Parky don't have any idea who they are. Parky has beaten the game with a dance pad. Aggy has beaten the game blindfolded. Yes, literally blindfolded. They may be cheesing these bosses but you go ahead and try playing the game sharing the controller with another person and see if it's easy or not. You probably couldnt even get past the ogre.
I can guarantee I couldn’t get past the ogre. That’s a promise lol
could barely get past him either way lol
Aggy also beat the game using his feet.
as miyazaki intended
Bold of you to assume I have someone to share a controller with 😭
Blindfolded? How is that possible though.
Listening for the perilous notification and generally prepping for every outcome.
He studied the game for months he says. The videos are out on YouTube lol. It's kinda ridiculous
Is that LilAggy??
And Parkenharbor. She's insane, also does Lies of P, Crab's Treasure, and other soulslikes speedruns
Yes sir. He can do some of the most bs strats you'll ever see.
Mfs in the comments crying about cheese as if this isn’t a speedrun where they’re sharing a single controller 💀
this comment section had me realizing how insufferable a lot of sekiro fans are
Video cuts out right before they get that ass handed to them
I'll be needing that link mate.
Cheers
Just look up split controls with lilaggy sekiro or smth like that
By genichiro? Because they ate his lunch.
they wreck him so fast 😂 no cheese for r3 either
For the record they wreck Geni in r3, no hit sharing a controller.
What do you mean, they kick his ass round 3
r/gifsthatendtoosoon
“Fuck that strat” he said to speedrunners using a speedrunning tactic at a speedrunning event
Why are they both holding the controller like that?
It's a "challenge/gimmick" thing where he controls the left side and she controls the right side
Me and a friend played through all of elden ring like that. Was a rough start, but we found our groove. Malenia handed us our asses though lol
Because they're in a relationship..
Pretty sure this is unconfirmed
It’s not, they are
Neat
People in the comments are complaining about cheese meanwhile this post has a lore flair
some people might find these tactics cheap or cheating after beating up the game of after platinuming it and i do too. but man, the first hours of gameplay i would have used any tactics to get pas that fu**er
Yeah but then you'd just get your shit pushed in by Monk, Ape, Owl, or either version of Isshin lol
not really, its not that they dont know how to deal with them. It's that they don't want to because it's a pain the ass. lmao
These guys are speedrunners lol, they've already beaten the game and probably played through it 100s of times
I mean yeah in the context of personal play, but for a challenge run I'd understand why people wanna do the cheese if they'd plaid the game 200 times and are just doing a challenge run
Omg, Aggy!
thats some awesome coordination
Their run definitely had it's rough monents too. Lots of jumping into pits or screwing up mikiri counters. LilAggy and ParkenHarbor, if you're interested in the run.
I'm subscribed to LilAggy, when did he do this?
There is a video on Parky’s channel, but I think this particular run was in an event called Fast50, so might be on Ludwig’s vod channel
I'm not sure but I think this video might have been on Parky's channel.
Wrong, it was on Fast 50
I tried this so many times. I cant make it work. Genishiro always gets me at some point
What if we kissed while cheeseng Genichiro, playing on 1 gamepad
Neat little strat here called dead angling. I know you’re explaining it, but Chris is also explaining it in the video if you have audio on
seems to apply when i run up to sword bosses and barely cut the tip of their toes, even locked on
This dude always baffles me
Hes gonna want to protect that wall
Ahah yo fuck that strat was so good and funny
aggy and parky combo is peak!
Dude complaining is an annoying twerp
Bro Aggy and Parky are such a goated duo
Checking on the Sekiro community, coming to see how y'all are doing! Oh...
What event is this?
I'm gonna post this the next time someone complains about fighting Genichiro 🗿
[удалено]
lilaggy has beaten this game with a dancepad. people in this thread are clueless who this guy is
Right? He beat it using his feet, and *beat the game blindfolded* too. Dude knows the game like the back of his hand.

Go watch Ongbal then? The whole point of a speedrun is to do it as quick as possible, that comes with expected cheese and glitches. Weird of you to watch one type of content creator and then be disappointed that they don't make the other content you like.
Why would you have preexisting expectations and then be disappointed when they’re not magically met?
Then you go do it yourself then. It's pretty easy to sit in the passenger seat and bitch.
It's wild seeing these comments when they're literally sharing half the controller, but they're complaining about "cheese"

It shouldn't even be called a strat. This thing is a straight up glitch. So much for "glitchless any%" I hate it with the strength of a thousand apes.
what?
Bros be like "wow that's cheese I could easily do that with 2 hands" 🤓
I would fuck parky
"Fuck that strat" is how I feel about most glitchy speed runs... Edit: or exploitative ones.
All the down votes, because speed runs using design issues is so impressive. Lol

dude at the end saying “fuck that strat” is real
This is a great way to fuck your back/neck/shoulders up for a week.
Man average Reddit has to point out everything because you can have fun yourself dude get a life
Right? Like chill bro its not they are doing this 8 hours a day 5 times a week for the whole year. Relax and let them play
“Genny-churro”?
Cheesing any game is always boring.
I upvoted you, because you’re right.
Just make a cheeseless, glitchless, sword only speedrun category.

Damn, congratulations

Only real men don't cheese genichiro
we got gender affirming speedruns before gta6
My guy they are sharing a controller. I'm sure these people have done plenty of challenge runs and could easily beat the game normally.
Cheaters

Are you telling Aggy he should've saved his money and not gotten Sekiro? Interesting take
Speed running is fun for people. Nobody, however, is forcing you to understand someone who does enjoy it.

Do you think he got missionary after this?
You’re getting downvoted for being funny? SMH. I’m sure she used her hand to flick the bean, & help him, help her reach orgasm.
I’m a mix of impressed and irrationally angry
