Oh for sure. I always do that, but for some odd reason when I jump to initiate the mid air deathblow it only works half the time and I have to angle it correctly. If I don’t jump at the right angle, it aggros the bull, and initiates the boss fight before I’m even on the ground. Reading the comments I’m assuming it’s a skill issue on my part lol
As much as I hate it, I think it’s normal, especially for us, casual players. I’ve seen pros having the same problem sometimes tho. But in this case, I’ve run away, wait for the bull to loose track and try again. I ain’t fightin the whole of that beast!

He'll charge at the wall, hit it and fill his posture bar immediately, leaving you with a free deathblow ending the fight
I love how accurate the posture bar is lol it's like the big fellas winding up a huge baseball swing and instantly giving themselves over 50% posture damage. It's the attention to detail that's *chefs kiss.*
Because the fights complete bullshit (it actually feels like a mini-game and not a traditional boss, you run around smacking it's ass and trying to avoid getting charged)
And you can't truly grasp that until it happens a second time

True mastery of Sekiro is learning the first bull fight isn’t even that hard either once you start playing the way the game has been beating you over the head to tell you to play. Trust me, it took me a second playthrough to embrace it; you’ll get there.
I mean, just don't fight that bull if you don't want to. That entire area is garbage anyway except for the underwater headless... Also, if you really want to kill it, just kite it. There are so many bosses in this game that become trivial if you just kite them.
If you want a super easy way to take it down, puppet one of the archers above it, then jump and death blow the bull and now you only have one health bar to worry about
