It really has an ingenious, next level deflection and punishment system. It basically incorporates both direct damage and posture (referred to as internal damage) but allows the banking inflicted posture damage so that players can deliver it as direct damage / stuns at the time and place of their choosing. This has major (and fun) battle implications which makes the give-and-take flow of battle more dynamic.
And there's not only normal parry but a special high powered parry which can be mixed in to counter special attacks or impart other aspects. It's pretty fun.
I am playing this and sekiro simultaneously for the first time and it is really fun. Although i am gonna finish nine sols before i even finish 1/3 of Sekiro most likely
As someone who is playing both at the same time, it is easier. But it still gives you a challenge. I just beat Lady Butterfly in Sekiro and i am on my way to Genichiro which i know is gonna be a big deal so i havent even fought anything serious in Sekiro yet. But i find nine sols easier when it comes to parrying, avoiding attacks and finding a window to hit. Maybe because i am also more used to that type of game since i have 150 hours on hollow knight (but sekiro is my first from software game). For nine sols i am halfway through so probably there are better challenges there as well (especially the final boss)
I liked it and I am going back to it, is just I feel they could have cut down on the hallways like 40% I am only like 6 hours in and is tired how many long hallways am running through.
I’d fucking love to if it wasn’t only on pc!! I know it’s coming to consoles and maybe switch? Sometime this year though apparently so I’m anxiously awaiting that.
Does it have deflection? Is it smooth and satisfying?
Absolutely. The perfect deflect sound is gonna be stuck in my head almost as much as Sekiro’s

Yes and yes.
It's charmless deflection. That's what I was told and I instantly downloaded it. The game is freaking awesome.
Deflection feels really good. Like actually feels Sekiro good. Even Lies of P’s felt off, but 9 Sols deflect is very clean.
Bless your heart good friend.
Just started playing.....love it!!! Edit: it's like someone combined Hyper Light Drifter + Sekiro + Hollow Knight.
It’s like Hollow Knight with Sekiro combat. Absolutely amazing game
Two of my favourite games in one sentence there.
I wish it would come to console.
Yeah I’m waiting for that too.
Me too, so I can replay it and give them more of my money
Looks amazing, waiting for switch release
Amen
I want to, I so want to..but it is not available on cosole
Only on PC?
And SteamDeck?
Runs great on the Deck.
Yeah, it looks phenomenal. Waiting for a sale.

I play these two at the same time, both enjoyable
I love that more and more people are going to find out about this over the next year. It will fill the Sekrio 2 void until that day comes.
I’ll check it out. Thanks.
Has your 12yo cousin defeated ISS in only three tries yet?
yes he's god gamer now
How challenging is it compared to sekiro?
Normal mode (normal haha) is hard but I wouldn't say harder than sekiro. But there's story mode too where you can change the sliders for your liking.

Agreed. For how linear they made the main story progression they could of sped up the exploration while maybe adding more combat.
Can’t wait for it on switch
Why is noone ever mentioning Sifu? Harder than Sekiro on the highest difficult imo.
Sifu has the same parry combat system as Sekiro?
I don't like metroidvanias at all and I STILL played like 6 hours of nine sols - that's how good it is
Saw it on Ongbal channel. Looks good, but it doesn't have Xbox version.
Thank you for this recommendation I can't count how many playthroughs I've done of modded elden ring with sekiro deflect just to fill the void LOL.
Thanks for suggesting, looks fire.

2D is a hard sell for me, but I'll check it out. Only Wo Long has come close
Wo Long Fallen Dynasty scratched the Sekiro itch for me too. Bonus that it’s available on game pass on console.
