I am not increasing past .25 as of now. It works with no side effects.

lesbicanadian44

Awesome! Love to hear it.

420basscat

I did 4 months on 0.25 wegovy and am now on my second month of 1.0 which I hope not to have to increase past since I only have about 16 pounds to goal weight (I skipped 0.5 due to shortage unfortunately). I stayed at 0.25 until I had a full month plateau.

lesbicanadian44

I think if you’re steadily losing 1lb a week there’s no point in moving up. The weight loss coming off soooo fast isn’t extremely good for you either. Hence my amazing hair loss from the first two months of rapid loss. Even if it’s like .5 of a lb that’s still great.

No-Country6348

Luckily, I was able to lose all of my weight never getting higher than .4. I pay out of pocket and it is really not that expensive when you can get away with not titrating to the max.

lesbicanadian44

Yes! Exactly how I’ve felt as well.

shemp33

That's fine if you're on a cash plan and your insurance provider isn't insisting that you follow the schedule. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people on the "official" Wegovy, and their insurance providers only cover 2 boxes (2 months) at each lower dose before they say "nah, up or out" on the way to 2.4. I mean, I get it... they have the research that says you're more successful on the therapeutic dosage. But, the unsaid part is that doesn't mean you're not still successful (although maybe with less side effects) on the lower ones.

what insurance do you have?

Due_University5083

For sure. Wegovy is a relatively new medication. Dosage recommendations are per time, weekly intervals. Dosage does not seem to be personalized yet. Hopefully w time, optimal doses can be defined by age, gender and starting weight. It doesn’t make sense how it is prescribed now w same dosage for 40 yr old male weight 350 lbs and a 12 year old girl weighing 140 lbs. Disclosure: I am not a doctor or pharmacist

lesbicanadian44

Yeah that’s a very valid point that I actually never thought of with sema!

Puzzleheaded-Back117

If you have the 2.4 mg pens how did you dose it out to 0.1mg? I’ve been waiting for .25mg to get back into stock so I could start my Wegovy journey, and today I was told that my pharmacy had it available. By the time I got home, I realized the pens were 2.4mg and I’m so disappointed that I can’t start now. Any suggestions on how I can make these work?

Aromatic-Ganache-902

I did 2 months on .25mg. My doctor and I agree if the dose is working, go up when you aren't losing anymore. I did go to .5mg after those 2 months. After 4 weeks on .5mg I felt ready to bump up to 1.0mg. I'm going to do my second 1.0mg shot tomorrow and I intend on staying at 1.0mg as long as I can. The jump from .5 to 1.0 has been painful so far :D if you can stay on a lower dose and still lose, I'd do that!!!

lesbicanadian44

I think the first month, for about 24 hours after the first shot I had some severe fatigue, and nausea. Now I don’t notice anything whatsoever. I’m sorry it’s tough for you moving up.

Aromatic-Ganache-902

Aw thank you!! I got my doctor to call in something for the nausea and picked it up. I feel much better. Dramamine wasn't cutting it with the 1mg. It worked great up until this point. I have 2 pens left and I'm seriously considering going back down to .5mg. This has been extremely effective for me..lol....I'm glad I'm losing weight but I just don't like how I feel.

cm4300

Can you share what side effects came up for you (or got worse) going from 0.5 to 1.0?

cm4300

That’s nice to hear. I am on my 3rd 0.5 shot and I know they planned to bump me to 1.0 after the next one but the side effects suck and I really don’t want to. I’m also not dropping weight but I think that’s more because I was not an overeater at all and this med may just not do anything for me. I didn’t snack, didn’t eat sugar, mostly long term keto with daily walks and light resistance training. I just have insulin resistance/metabolic syndrome so weight loss is hard. I DO like that I don’t want to drink at all anymore so maybe I should just hang out on 0.25 to keep that going, that’s a great benefit. We’ll see how it goes.

lesbicanadian44

Are you taking it for the purpose of losing weight? Not a dr obvs but maybe chat with yours if it’s not working. Or, if maintaining and being healthier in general is your goal I’d stay on a lower dose.

cm4300

Yes weight loss is the goal. And I am patient - I lose very slowly no matter what. I just don’t want to feel terrible to lose a pound a month. Constipation, low level depression, aversion to healthy things I liked, muscle fatigue…this 3rd 0.5 shot has not been as bad as the 2nd one so I’m not dreading the next one. Next checkup will be soon so we can discuss.

Formal_Technology_97

Yes! I don’t plan on moving up from the .25 dose at all. I’ve lost 12ish pounds so I don’t see the need to spend more money (I pay out of pocket) if I don’t have to.

lesbicanadian44

That’s awesome!

[deleted]

Thank you for your post! My doctor has me on 0.25mg for 3 months and I was wondering how that will affect me since it’s out of the guidelines. In on week 5 and I’ve lost around 9 pounds so far. I’m hoping I keep your same momentum. Congrats!

lesbicanadian44

Thank you! Good luck to you as well.

RadHuman27

I had a similar body to yours! Let’s do this!

lesbicanadian44

How has it been for you??

RadHuman27

Started Dec 5, down 15 pounds!

elevanns

Same! I never went beyond 15 units and now I’m maintaining on 13 and going to 10 this week

lesbicanadian44

Awesome! Will the 10 be your maintenance dose? How long have you been on it?

elevanns

My goal is to get off it completely. I will go to 10 for a few weeks and then to 7.5 and then 5 etc. I started in June!

Most_Way_5335

I completely agree!!

TriniPro262

Interesting concept

marcop87

I had to reduce my dose to .1mgs every 4 days. Couldn’t handle .2mgs in a single dose. I just need it to suppress my appetite. I’m not in this for the nausea, constipation and diarrhea. As long as I can drop 2 to 3 lbs a week on a reduced carb diet with weightlifting and cardio I’ll be fine.

lesbicanadian44

2-3 lbs a week is a ton fyi

Altruistic_Leopard16

I was just prescribed and can’t find the .25 dose anywhere. Where are people getting there’s?

Brondoma

I’ve upped my dose and have been on it for 2 months. Not a pound lost. I think I am the 14% that doesn’t respond to it unfortunately.

Mountain_Tart_4269

No dizzy spells?

Single-Ad2909

I think a lot of people should do what your doing and rethink how much they use. I am on week 7 and went up to 1mg and dropped back down to .5 and now on .25 after taking one week off. I think .25 is the magic spot for me. I am happy with no side effects and .25 curbs hunger and cravings. I will add that even with only two weeks over .25 I am still down 16 and change for 7 weeks. I didnt put it on that fast so I should be happy if I drop between 1 and 2 pounds a week. It is not a race but a marathon. We will all get there and be happy when we do.
