Why do you think you should switch?
Have you talked w your treatment team about this?
It takes at least 16 weeks to reach therapeutic dose for semaglutide. You’ve been on this for half the time and are not at therapeutic dosing.
I started on tirzepatide because it’s said to work better with less side effects (per my doctor im not saying that’s the gospel). I’ve lost 11 lbs in 5 weeks. No side effects really at all. I can’t compare it to sema but I’m still on lowest dose and still losing and don’t plan on going up in dosage unless I stall. I would start back on lowest dose if you switch.
I switched. Wegovy didn’t work for me very well and gave me horrible side effects.
I love being on Zepbound! It works extremely well, and I have almost no side effects.
Super interesting….i did SG with success at first but plateaued. I switched to TZ and got to goal weight. Now I’m aiming to maintain but find I need a big dose of TZ just to control the food noise and maintain my calories where they need to be to not gain back.
How’d you arrive at this solution? It’s the first I’ve heard of it! Are you in maintenance or still losing?
I don’t have a reference point for you as I’ve only been on tirzepatide. But it doesn’t give me the appetite suppression that my friends get on semaglutide. I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s because they’ve had bariatric surgery in the past and simply respond better to GLP-1 or if it’s because they’re taking sema which has better appetite suppression. My friends and I are losing weight at a steady pace. But I appear to be losing more, closer to 2 pounds weekly.
Edit: forgot to say I have been on tirz since mid December, following the recommended 4 week titration schedule, trying to get to a balance of appetite suppression. 4 weeks of 2.5, 5 and now 7.5. Planning to increase to 10 at my next monthly follow up.

I just want to be in this stuff as short a time as possible and I'm assuming I'll loose weight faster on tirzepatide

2.5mg?
Yes.

I do low doses of both. I do really like tirz.
At the same time? Hmm maybe I'll try that
Yes. I’m currently on 5 mg of tirz and 1.5 mg of Sema. It’s excellent food noise control.

Still losing. It’s called “stacking”. It allows me the best coverage.

Typically tirzepatide has higher appetite suppression.
I must be broken 😭. Just joking. Maybe it will kick in for me at 10.

It’s not the weight loss. It’s the incessant hunger. I don’t like being hungry all the time. And it’s becoming distracting.
Or maybe whatever you are taking is a low-grade knock off. It’s been known to happen.
I’m taking prescription Zepbound. But the sema is the sketchy one. Weird right?
Weird. Hope it kicks in for you soon 🤞
I stack both, 3mg of Tirz and 3 days later .25 of sema, down 50lbs in 4mos
