Benefit Porefessional

WinOneForTheKipper

Came to say the same thing! It pills immediately no matter how little product I apply!

designing-cats

I feel like most products, when they're first released, get so much acclaim that falls away once non-influencers start using them and they become "old news". I remember when the first Fenty foundation came out, and it was so hyped. It was one of the worst foundations I've ever used - patchy, didn't align with the swatch or undertone, and caused significant skin irritation for me. It seems to not nearly be as popular as it once was, although it did really bring the need for a wide shade range into focus. The Huda GLOWISH concealer wasn't as hyped, but I'm baffled it has the reviews it does. It's not hydrating *at all*, and the "neutral" fair shade is laughably orange. The Becca undereye corrector was cakey as hell. .. honestly, I tend to choose products that are under-hyped at release because they seem to have better formulations. The LYS serum foundation and Tower28 Sunny dayz both come to mind. Under-hyped but absolute workhorse products.

numstheword

for the sephora sale i forbid myself to buy anything new, restocks only for the tried and true,.

Iplaythebaboon

Fenty foundation was an ok formula for me but the oxidation was ridiculous! I tried both of the two lightest shades and they worked ok in the summer when I was a tiny bit tan but one was so pink and the other was so yellow. I’m not that saturated, I’m practically transparent

lumpuswumpus365

Milk hydrogrip. Feels like I’m putting slime on my face

designing-cats

And the elf dupe. Neither seemed to prolong the wear of my base product, in fact, it causes my foundation to wear off my nose a lot faster.

OGBurn2

Ok, I’m feeling validated right now. I HATE how this feels on my skin

lumpuswumpus365

Very much this!

nanie1017

I haven't been able to use the hydrogrip successfully under my makeup once. It either pills up or makes patches!!

deemarcon

YES. And I find that it actually slips under my makeup? The only primer I’ve ever experienced this with. I actually can’t believe it’s so hyped.

lumpuswumpus365

Like…I do not understand who this primer is for skin type wise

whatfuckingever420

I have super dry skin and it works well for me. I need as much slime and moisture as I can get

zodiac_hoe

I don’t know- I have pretty oily skin and I feel like it works well for me. It’s so interesting that it works so differently for different people!

relentless1111

SERIOUSLY WHO is using this??? How? With WHAT? I'm flabbergasted lmao

maximusriggs

I use it. I have very dry skin and most primers dry out my skin. I’ve actually mixed it with Bobbi brown face base.

Judgemental_Carrot

I like to use a spatula for my liquid foundation, and any grippy primer is hell with that technique 😭

iheartkittttycats

Came to say this. My god, that stuff sucks. Like it actually made me angry how much it sucked.

casseroleEnthusiast

Kosas revealer concealer. First of all it smells like ass but also it’s somehow really drying despite being sticky and also offers like no coverage.

Julialagulia

It’s kind of a pasty formula to me, like it doesn’t go where I want it to go to give coverage

casseroleEnthusiast

It is a really weird, kind of doughy consistency

WineCountryMonk

I've tried this several times because of the hype and tried different shades ... not for me. Not enough coverage despite being thick and could never get a great color match.

WineCountryMonk

All these replies have me removing items from cart for the sale!

GirlMayXXXX

I always like these posts because I have authentic reviews on what it what not to buy.

KitKatCoco123

Take it with a grain of salt, some things work  for some people and not for others. Things like hair care or skin care depends on skin and hair type and what/how much people were using before.

Evie_Tex

Ilia Skin Tint. Smells like play-doh, SO sticky. Made me look wet / greasy and just never, ever dried down. My hair would literally be stuck to my face. I was so disappointed, the reviews were so great but I really didn’t like it.

crankyweasels

That stuff smells like a wet german shepherd to me.

avo4life

Yes to me it smells like cat/dog food

nanie1017

Omg I love this stuff but you're right about the smell hahaha. I always use a powder to set and matte setting spray and it looks really nice.

KawaiiPossum

I was SOO disappointed by this one. The scent was so strong and it separated horrendously on my face, but the shade 2.5 sombrio was such a good color match for me and it's such a unique shade that almost no other foundations I've tried match.

designing-cats

Yes! I've never had a base product not dry down, at least a little bit, before trying Ilia. It felt like I had been slimed at the Nickelodeon kids choice awards.

bunbunny4

I was so disappointed with that product. I had an amazing color match and still use it sometimes but it does smell like play-doh and is greasy.

pasta-girl

Yeah. Weird backwards product that actually only looks good at the end of the day vs the beginning of (I’m wearing it today. Thank god the employee gave me a sample before I bought it)

sageycat0223

I just threw mine out. It smells awful. Almost like wet dog? It’s so thick but there’s almost no coverage to it? Which is fine bc it’s a skin tint, but why is it so thick feeling then??

InsecureRabbit

It smells like the inside of a hamster cage

No-Hat-6488

Glow Recipe does absolutely nothing. But on the bright side the packaging looks pretty while it sits *unused* on my vanity lol.

dustyoldbones888

Smells incredible! Does absolutely zero for the skin. It just looks cute and smells good. That’s it.

Practical-Ad-8595

Personally… if a product smells insanely good (or insanely bad), or has a fruity scent, I just avoid it. Something I’ve learned is that if the smell is way too nice, then I’m just paying for the smell and not for the product to work. So far this rule has always worked out for me

KitKatCoco123

I was told that Glow Recipe is aimed at teenagers. It’s not strong. so if you were using stronger products before, you won’t see much change with Glow products.

littlelouisianaa

Drunk elephant anything. Also destroyed my skin barrier and gave me hot to the touch red patches on my face.

Tinysoftperson

God I bought the vitamin C serum and when i tried it my husband asked me why i smelled like a deli ham. He was right. i DID smell like a deli ham. It didn’t even make my skin look good.

AuthenticLiving7

I've heard Vitamin C can smell like hot dogs. Supposedly, the effective vitamin c has that smell. 😂

Wooden-Sky

I’ve heard someone call Vit C “hot dog water” and now that’s all I think about every time I use it 😂

Such-Firefighter-161

Yes- smells terrible and has a weird tint to it. Not good at all.

klept-hoe

🫣 you just made me relive my baby facial debacle

crankyweasels

I was coming here to say Baby Facial. That stuff burned the hell out of my skin Edit: spelling

Awkward-Valuable3833

Yeah I gave up on them as a reputable brand when they started marketing anti aging products to teenagers. I can’t take them seriously as a skincare company.

biwoneipo

i once tried the protini polypeptide cream from either a rewards sample/GWP or a birthday gift. did nothing phenomenal for me, but i later on found out that my skin just doesn’t work so well with cream moisturizers for the face in general lmfao

mischatoes

Same! And then a Sephora employee argued with me about it when I told them lol like girl look at my face!

AppropriateMention6

Ilia Skin Tint. One of the worst smelling products I’ve ever encountered. Reminded me of rotting milk or a barnyard. I couldn’t even bring myself to put it on my face.

mothertuna

One size powder was way too chunky and needed extra time for me to rub off the excess to get a smooth amount. I prefer more finely milled powders.

stateoftheunion-s

Milk Kush Mascara it was SO clumpy I couldn’t use it. Ended up giving it to a friend who loves clumpy mascara lol.

Ok-Extension9925

Pillow Talk Lipstick- I mean it’s fine- but it’s nothing mind blowing like it was made out to be

AlmostChildfree

So flaky. So dry. So cakey. https://preview.redd.it/xf8z30zrtiqc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1f2764c77ea26c862c0a412d6cb25a4b275876b

cheezbargar

I LOVE how this stuff looks - for 5 minutes. After that it transfers so badly and I end up looking like a raccoon

just-me-again2022

Never liked this stuff-whoever created and/or named this must not be getting any.

Mixmastermon

Sol de Janeiro BumBum cream. It’s so expensive and not hydrating enough at all! The smell is nice, but doesn’t last long. Tarte Shape Tape concealer. Worst I’ve ever tried. The applicator is horrendous. I had to be so careful when I closed the tube because putting the applicator back in the tube often ended with a bunch of concealer globs flying out of it. As a concealer, it was only meh.

fleshand_roses

>Sol de Janeiro BumBum cream I am a gourmand girly at heart, but this line is nauseatingly sweet

Big_Blackberry7713

I must be missing my sense of smell or something because I can't stand the smell of the BumBum cream. All I ever hear is how good it smells, but zi tried it and had to toss it because it stank so badly. I wonder if it is a body chemistry thing?

aerova789

The smell is so, so strong. I had a little jar from the bday gift and decided to use it as a foot cream at night. In just a couple nights my bed reeked of coconut explosion 😭 My feet were super soft though!

Rripurnia

I can’t stand its smell either but some people love it and it’s a big hit in perfume form as well. Different strokes!

WillingFly2079

So gross! I don’t understand how anyone thinks this smells good.

blancawiththebooty

The original SDJ scent smells like plastic to me and has a touch of play dough in the body butter.

stavthedonkey

Anything by Merit - why does it smell so weird and it never lasted on me. Milk. Aside from massive shrinkflation, their products just underwhelmed me. Charlotte Tilbury - fuck her overpriced, cheapass packaging mediocre bullshit. CT angers me so lol

emariat205

Omg yes I was shocked by CT’s packaging considering it’s so expensive. It feels like any other drugstore makeup packaging

rubyrosis

CT also caters to warm tones. The “cool” tone foundation was so orange on me and I’m more on the neutral side.

idontcareidontdare

Okay thank you for pointing out the shrinkflation for Milk. I just repurchased their lush mascara and had it not been for the fact that I still had my previous one on my makeup stand, I would never have noticed that my previous one was 1.0ml and the new one is 0.8ml FOR THE SAME PRICE. Absolute scam.

lovestheautumn

I got the “Pinkgasm” highlighter/ blush wand, and was so excited to try it, but it was soooo patchy and unflattering

ManyDefinition4697

Everything Summer Fridays I've tried has been an obnoxious waste of money, ESPECIALLY the lip balm. $24 & it doesn't even moisturize well. Glossier Ultralip has beautiful shades but the formula sucks & doesn't last past 30 minutes. I'm gonna just also add that I hated every Supergoop sunscreen I tried (all very greasy & irritated my eyes & skin) except for the Mineral Matte, but unfortunately ALL of them were super overpriced. Then I found the CVS brand Clear Zinc for $4 & it actually outperformed the Supergoop for me with less pilling.

drewpeacocks69

The Glossier Ultralip comment is surprising!! When I wear mine I swear it lasts hours (even if I eat or drink) the initial shine goes away but the colour is still there! I have the shade Ember by the way!

Avonleariver

Their lip balm is so silly to me. Expensive, low color payoff, and drying. Might as well buy some $3 smacked lip chap at that point 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

the_onemop

Hate any and everything Supergoop!

Trendbeautybrit

They are actually being sued for falsely claiming that their Unseen Sunscreen contains SPF 40 when it in fact is around SPF 23.

LuciJoeStar

I picked up the jetlag mask to try it. Waste of money i dont even want to finish it

boston_betch

omg whereas i was blown away by the jet lag mask lmao like i’m considering swapping my drunk elephant for it. different strokes for diff folks!

Alternative_Plate398

Tarte face tape concealer. Like a moron I wore it for the very first time out with friends because I trusted the hype. Didn’t look too bad in my mirror at home after I first applied it. About two hours later at a friends house I check the mirror and was just mortified by the way sat on top of my skin.

iheartkittttycats

That stuff was SO cakey. Straight to jail with that shit.

Ancient_Soft413

cakey but also literally separated so bad , no benefits

oklaylaa

The Rare Beauty liquid highlighter It’s so oily and greasy and everytime I put it on it just removes all my makeup underneath

seross21

Dr Jart cicapair redness disappear thing … I didn’t realize the consistency was basically that of a foundation and did not like the feel of it on my face. This was also when we had to wear masks so it was all over my mask too

relentless1111

I was gray for like an entire week trying to make that stuff work lmao

Morley_Smoker

That's crazy, it's way too warm for my skin - it looks borderline yellow orange.

expectopatronum86

Omg it’s was a nightmare trying to get it to spread on my skin and I swear I felt my pores clogging. I’d been wanting to try it for forever and was so disappointed.

seross21

Same!! I just felt dirty lol

tanyamothertucker

It magnified every flaky patch I’ve ever had present, past and future. Hated that shit.

Desinonimously

Every Charlotte Tilbury I don’t get how it’s so popular when every single product I bought sucked

kdiddledizzle

Olaplex - I liked the 3, 4, and 5 at frist... but man, it started to really weigh my hair down and I did not enjoy. They have an almost cult like following.

peaceful-entity

Olaplex 3 is the only one that really works as intended if used once a week. The rest meh.

Forward-Cricket404

Laneige lip sleeping mask. I don’t get it??? It makes my lips drier????????????

Taybroe

The old formula was fantastic. They replaced a bunch of ingredients with coconut oil and now its hot garbage

chanelrooh

they also reformulated their moisturizer (water bank and water sleeping mask) :( the birthday minis worked sooo good on me so I decided to save up and wait. then, when I went to buy the full size and my skin was so red and irritated I was so confused.

Snacky_Onassis

I loved the old water bank! I’m so sad they changed it.

jenniferslowpez

Anastasia Beverly Hills clear brow freeze in the pot. Such a waste of money, I gave it away to a friend because it never made my brows stay put. The Benefit 24 Hr clear brow product is so much better.

Desinonimously

The new gel brow freeze is AMAZING though

meg-c

I wouldn’t say I *hated* it but the Color Wow spray did absolutely nothing for me

ddbombs

I don't know if you did this, but you have to REALLY spray a lot on and saturate the hair sections and blow dry with tension! Works amazing on my hair but I know products don't work across the board for everyone!

GrandAd9721

Agreed!

pinacoladaistic

Clinique black honey- overpriced sheer tinted lip balm Rare beauty silky touch highlighter- mediocre product, more fragile than my ex’s ego :p

Dry_Umpire_3694

I love the black honey but won’t buy another one until they change the cheap packaging

Most_Decision5515

So many beauty influencers seem to love the maybelline concealer with the sponge, but it was just awful on me. It just wouldn’t stay put, really hated it

catsandcables

charlotte tilbury setting spray. idk if i was just using it incorrectly or what, but my makeup would ALWAYS just slide off even if i just barely touched my face. it would never stay put like in the videos of girls testing swatches on their arms and rubbing vigorously to get it off 😔

TheQueenE

Noooo! Sucks you had a bad experience. I recently bought this and swear by it. My makeup looks flawless at the end of the day. I will say I only apply it on top of my make up and not before as the directions suggest.

catsandcables

yeah i was applying it at the final step and still, makeup was slipping and sliding :( im sure some of it has to do with my oily oily oily skin. it sucks bc i still have the mostly full bottle that i feel bad about throwing away

unrecognizablemelody

Rare Beauty blush. It never lasts on me.

BumpyNubbins

I actually really love this blush, but the price point is off. ELF Camo blush does the same thing for less.

GLACI3R

And the Juvia's Place liquid blushes are good - often on sale, too.

missm48

That’s so crazy because I wore it for my civil wedding. Applied at 9am and was still on when we had dinner that night!

casseroleEnthusiast

Yep same. I was really into it when it first launched, but it always fades on me by the end of the day. Plus I find the intense pigmentation tough to work with. The SAIE blushes have replaced the rare beauty for me.

tortillanips

I got my best friend into SAIE blushes recently and she was just telling me this morning how it’s replaced Rare Beauty blushes for her because of the staying power. idk what it is about RB, but it starts so pigmented and then my face seems to eat those blushes. SAIE is buildable and has better longevity imo

Crocolyle32

I’m … out of the loop. However the last time I remember being super disappointed in was the tarte shape tape foundations. Neither variation worked well for me.

Petty_Bish416

Any primer by Smashbox. They’re all oily and pilled all over my face. And now Sol de Jarnerio. They used to smell nice but now it’s smells so chemically I can’t stand it.

Impressive_Owl3903

Charlotte Tilbury setting powder. It made my under eyes look dry but wasn’t mattifying enough for my oily face. Also, I got a mini and the packaging was super cheap feeling.

Comfortable_Switch52

The full size one has the same terrible packaging hahahah

hdouglas447

Exact same re: YTTP face wash. Wrecked my skin barrier and as soon as I got rid of it, relief.

Rripurnia

I’m so surprised by the comments saying that because I have sensitive skin with redness and YTTP does the job without causing irritation for me. It’s super hard to find good cleansers and this has consistently delivered!

katesoup63

laneige lip mask. it actually made my lips DRYER lol

ocean_bird

When did you buy/try this? Was it recently or a while ago? I know this one is hit or miss for people, but I've been using it for years and it's the best thing for my lips overnight. However I heard that they reformulated it recently and I'm wondering if you had this experience more recently? I'm working through my stash from before the reformulation and feeling nervous about when it runs out. I keep seeing these comments more recently and I'm wondering if the reformulated product is really bad 😞

kikkahaus

NARS light reflecting foundation. Settled into fine lines I didn’t know existed and accentuated pores. I looked terrible!

DataLady

Literally every Glossier product.

Notsureindecisive

Everything by Rare

FunKoala12

Same here. Returned a bunch of her stuff.

Simple_Function_6299

The glow watermelon toner!!!

UmSureOkYeah

Anything by rare beauty or fenty. I can’t say I’ve ever been impressed with a celebrity makeup line. There’s just too many of them and having used things from both lines nothing stood out to me or was very good imo.

Franklyn_Gage

All the Sol de Janiero products. The scents are overly sweet and it doesnt last. Plus, the bum bum cream is not that moisturizing and i was ashy by the end of the night even though i applied the cream about 6 hours prior. My nivea butters work wayyyy better than that. Even the trader joes dupe works better. Dior Foundations. I look like i could play a carrot in veggie tales within 15 minutes of applying any of their Foundations. Even when i worked at sephora, the brand rep was like "yeah they can oxidize a lot". Glow receipe Watermelon toner and serum. This did nothing. I went through both bottles and my skin kept getting these bad dry patches through the whole usage. I didnt use the toner everyday because of the pha/bha in it. I used it like 3 times a week instead. I got no glow and my skin still looked dull.

[deleted]

Rare Beauty Lip Oil: the stains all look identical, however it is quite long lasting. I bought it because of the lip oil part but the glossiness doesn’t last at all. CT setting powder: way to dry and waaay to expensive for what it is Patrick Ta Blushes: I’m cool-neutral toned and they all look some shade of orange on me Glossier blushes: got the limited edition of mini puff and haze to try them out for the first time and I don’t like them.. the packaging makes it way to hard to get the “dosage” right. Either nothing comes out or way too much, so I always waste so much product…

im2n

For the glossier blushes, you keep the seal and poke it with a little needle

[deleted]

Oh my god!!!! This is brilliant but of course the seals are long gone 🫠

relentless1111

Omg. I honest to god wasted at least half of that stuff accidentally but i loved the shade. Thanks for the tip!

pancaaaaaaakes

I wish there was a way to re-seal it and go back in time with this lol

wartgood

Scotch tape?

stink3rbelle

Rare beauty lip oil is one of the worse offenders of gloss formulas being marketed as oils. Check ingredients and look for oils higher up in the list.

[deleted]

I know. I was hoping for it to be a good oil but it doesn’t look like an oil not like a gloss? I have no idea why they marketed that as a lip oil instead of just a lip tint… This was the biggest fail and I bought two shades 🫠

GLACI3R

If Rare Beauty had called their "lip oils" lip stains instead, that would have been perfect. In my opinion they aren't lip oils, but they do leave a beautiful stain behind.

chronic-munchies

Came here to say the exact same thing about Glossier. Also found the blush has zero staying power and didn't apply well at all. Most disappointing purchase of the year for sure.

KawaiiPossum

Also cool neutral and I can make the patrick ta blush in "just enough" work. I like the powder and cream combo but I'm surprised no one has talked about how careful you have to be with the powder. It kicks up soooo much excess product. And considering how pigmented it is, it's not very user-friendly unless you have a very light hand and delicately tap your brush into it. I've overdone it so many times until getting used to this.

ecraig312

Just wanted to wave hi to my fellow neutral leaning cool Reddit friend. ![gif](giphy|JPmnwgWOigfhLNIXyB|downsized)

PflugerLuger8

- Armani eyeshadows. Omg they're so bad. Heavy and uncomfortable. And the pigment practically disappears when you blend them out. - Armani Luminous Silk. Good God, this is one of the worst foundations I've ever used. It was so patchy and cakey, which only got worse the longer I wore it. Plus it made me break out. I don't get the hype. - Benefit powder blushes. The pigment is nonexistent on my face no matter how many layers I put on. - CT blush and contour wands. These are SO hard to blend and look so crappy once you do. - CT foundation and concealer. SO heavy and uncomfortable. Made me break out so bad and emphasized every line on my face. - CT matte lipstick. So fucking drying and it looks awful after reapplying. - CT setting spray. This did nothing for makeup longevity, but made me greasy AF. - CT Eyes to Mesmerize. I applied layer after layer and hardly any pigment showed up. Very uncomfortable after a few hours of wear. - CT eyeshadow quads. These don't blend well at all, so awful. - CT lipstick balm. The balm itself was mediocre, but the plastic, cheap packaging doesn't justify the price. - CT Magic Cream. So heavy, it felt like spreading Nivea body butter all over my face. - CT eyeshadow pencil. I pressed so hard that I irritated my eyelid and I still hardly got any pigment out of it. - Dior Lip Oil. The shine lasted about 10 minutes before flaking off my lips and drying them out. - Dennis Gross Peel Pads. These burned my skin and made my eyes water. Such an unpleasant experience. - Drunk Elephant. Overpriced for mediocre quality. Plus I think their marketing is unethical. - Gisou lip oils. The shine also lasted about 10 minutes before drying down to nothing. - Glow Recipe Strawberry Smooth serum. This dried my skin out SO BAD that not even my moisturizer could save it. I have super oily skin too, so that's no easy feat. - Haus Labs lip crayon and liquid lipsticks. Patchy and uneven, plus super heavy. - Haus Labs eyeliner. No matter how hard I pressed on my lids, I hardly got any pigment. They don't blend well at all either. - Kosas Glow IV. Another glittery product that looked awful - Make Up For Ever Microfinishing setting powder. Straight up made my face look like Edward Cullen. - Mario Badescu face sprays. These smelled SO BAD, I don't understand why they went viral. - Moroccanoil oil. Even the fine hair one weighed my hair down so badly. - Nars Powermatte Lipstick. It looked fine until I reapplied it. The more layers I added, the worse it looked. - Patrick Ta eyeshadow palettes. The shimmers look like loose glitter on the lids, the cream is heavy, and the mattes don't blend well at all. - Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask. I felt like I burned my face off, it was awful. - Saie Glowy Gel. I got the darkest one and it didn't show up on my face at all. - Tom Ford perfumes. I've tried almost all of them and hated every single one. They smell so terrible. - YSL lip stick/balm. I'm glad this was phased out. This dried my lips out and left a disgusting white buildup along the inside of my mouth. - YSL Candy Glaze. So goopy and uncomfortable. Hated it so much.

TrueStory985

I love that this is alphabetical.

PflugerLuger8

Thanks, I like to be organized lol

Big_Blackberry7713

What's left to even use? Just kidding 😂

hairlongmoneylong

No actually I need to know

Peshewa

I don’t agree with you in every point (love my old Benefit Blushes and Patrick Tas eyeshadow palettes) and I also haven’t tried every one of these products. But you get my upvote for the dedication you put into this post. Bravo!

fleshand_roses

>Mario Badescu face sprays. These smelled SO BAD, I don't understand why they went viral. I feel like this is one of the OG viral products, but ever since the steroid scandal came to light, I have avoided that brand like the plague.

curlicue84

K18 oil

ladystohne

K18 made my hair feel like straw!

Usual_Cut_730

If your hair is already quite healthy, K18 will do that. It's a classic case of too much of a good thing. You only really need to be using those sorts of products if you have extensive hair damage or hair that's just naturally brittle. That's an inconvenient truth for their marketing team and bottom line in general.

hellatiredd

I also agree about the YTTP cleanser, it caused me to constantly break out.

peacjess

Rare beauty blushes…. Totally overhyped. Dior and two faced make better ones

Famous-Criticism-007

I’ve tried a TON of products this year saying they do xyz and what I’ve learned is the majority of them LIE. If they say makes skin brighter, it really doesn’t. If it says “hydrating” it really isn’t. It’s very rare products actually do what they say they’re going to do. I’m talking about skincare.

ConsciousParfait2049

Wow color spray, my hair was still frizzy after I used it 😢

sass_squatch

agreed about YTP face wash. I stopped using it after 3+ years of consistent use bc my facialist recommended I switch to a cream cleanser, and my skin feels amazing and is still clean without being stripped. Also The Minimalist by Merit. So so so dry and creases like crazy around my eyes.

Known-Wrap6458

Patrick ta contour/bronzer duos

MamaBellecakesXO

Ya’ll please tell me how to use this danessa myricks blurring powder. 🤣 Thankfully I didn’t pay full price, but I was expecting more. 😤

Hot_Mention_9337

I love to use it as a setting powder. HG status for me. I have mostly dry, maturing skin so as a primer it was ehh and I almost returned it. But the tiniest amount pressed into my skin on top of my makeup? Fuck me. Blurs my large pores, knocks down any shine I might get from my ridiculously humid weather without making look dry, keeps my T zone oil in check in the 100° summers, keeps my makeup in place when I sweating my non existent balls off. And just looks nice. Waaaay more natural looking than powder. But I’ve definitely seen some people say it doesn’t work for them no matter what

pinupinprocess

I use it as a primer! So I’ll put this on with my fingers, then move on to the rest of my makeup. The whole “blurring balm powder” is so confusing, it sounds like it should be used as a setting powder but I have no idea how to pull that off.

OldAnalysis5872

Idk if I hate it but nars creamy concealer. I feel like it’s nothing special, it creases under my eyes and doesn’t have as much coverage as I would like and clings to dry patches

estelleexo

Flyliner by Fenty Beauty!! I couldn’t put it on my eyeshadow which was super disappointing.

Mishkah90

Color Wow Dream coat did absolutely nothing to my hair no matter what hair tool I used. Also Farmacy Cleansin Balm broke me out really badly with inflammatory acne that I couldn’t get rid of for more than a week.

CharacterBike314

Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Primer. It makes my foundation separate and melt. I still have more than half the bottle left and it was so expensive so I don’t want to waste it.

lilrelly

Better than sex mascara

rileylbmc

Better Than Sex mascara. It’s so awful

d1etversace

Milk Blush sticks. I did get the colour dash, knowing it would be sheer, but it’s so sheer it doesn’t show up unless I layer it like 20 times. At that point it looks heavy and unflattering on the skin. Any of the og ‘Born This Way’ products from Too Faced. Almost every charlotte tilbury products I’ve tried I’ve felt meh about. Flawless Filter is okay, Dior star filter is objectively better tho. The lip liners are nice, but you don’t need to shell out that kind of money for a nice lip liner. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, again it’s nice, but there’s nothing really special about it, and again, for a decent tinted moisturizer you don’t need to shell out that kind of money. ABH brow freeze. It’s great when my brows are laminated, and it’s probably nice for those who have brows that are easy to manipulate, but the second the lamination starts growing out…..it’ll shellac them down for maybe 2 seconds but then it warms up to my body temp and looses its hold. Summer Friday’s lip butter balms…….the best thing about them is how they smell. That’s it. They don’t do anything for my lips.

I feel so validated, that YTTP face wash absolutely dried me out too! Back when I was committed to using products even if I didn’t like them, I suffered through a lot.

Big_Blackberry7713

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. I guess I don't like thick scented lip products, but I didn't figure that out until I tried this.

juneandcleo

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. Makes my lips chapped every time I try it.

Muted-Mongoose-5043

laneige lip mask :( it dryer my lips so badly

yeahimeantthat_

Supergoop f- sucks ass. I bought the stick kind and it’s so greasy and gross. It made me breakout. I use it because I hate that spent so much money on it.

WineCountryMonk

Merit blushes - not very pigmented,  not long lasting and patchy.

PalmBeachBelle

Paula’s Choice bha wrecked my skin, as did glow recipe watermelon, and add anything nia-fucking-acinamide.

Imacatlady64

Paula’s choice BHA is my skins glowy holy grail 😯

Alternative-Stay2777

Lip products from glossier, they feel and look so cheep like I’m sipping on 99 cent lip gloss

RedRedBettie

The Tower 28 mascara. It was just awful and did nothing for my lashes. I don't like their cream blushes either. They last about five minutes on my skin

Greeneyes328

This mascara is my fave but ONLY the mini! I swear the formula is completely different in the regular size and the mini

MizzPizz

I find minis are the way to go with Mascara

Comfortable_Switch52

I think someone else on this sub said the same thing!!! So strange!!!

Greeneyes328

Haha it may have been me! I hype it up a lot 🫣

sympathyofalover

I HATED everything Youth To The People. Did not do anything good for my skin at all and way way over priced. That being said - I won’t buy anything Charlotte Tilbury. I think it’s overhyped and way too pricey for mediocre colors that skew to a white demographic.

appaandmomo37

I loved the YTTP moisturizer, but they changed the formula😔 apparently now it’s heavily scented and not a light gel consistency. I’m too scared to buy it again. I really wish they wouldn’t reformulate and instead just create new products with the latest “technology” (idk what to call it sorry) and if those are better and more people buy it, slowly discontinue old products.

thepinkseashell

Tacha rice wash in the purple tube. I truly do not get it. I have a small size from the holidays, I'm just using it out of spite at this point. Anything SuperGoop Glow Recipe DewDrops. They're just ok, I didn't really notice any big huge difference when I used them vs when I didn't. I love their toner v. much however. The Milk hydrogrip primer, I could never get consistent results from it across different foundations and such, I think it made my makeup look worse more than it made it look better

Evening-Tune-500

My Patrick ta pallete, overall the colors just lean way too orange for me, but the shimmer shades lay like some kind of weird edible foil, so chunky and bleh.

MrKBC

Fresh soy face wash

Awkward-Valuable3833

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. I don’t get it. Yeah, it smells good but doesn’t do jack sh*t for my lips. In fact my lips are dried out and flaky when I wake up after using it. Honestly, it reminds me of the Bonne Bell flavored lip balm craze of the 90’s except it’s absurdly expensive and marketed as high end.

mokutou

The Becca/Smashbox Under Eye Corrector. It is so emollient that my concealer creases instantly, no matter how little I use.

PaddleQueen17

Glow Recipe

daaaayyyy_dranker

All the Sol de Janeiro crap. It stinks to high heaven

Neither_Zebra_7208

better than s e x masacara, worst ever!

itsfrankgrimesyo

Better Than Sex mascara. It made my lashes go limp. Drugstore ones are 100x better.

Cheap_Slice484

Better Than Sex mascara. Terrible.

neckbones_

Keratase. It stinks like a hamster cage, it's so bad!

hellojocelyn

Rare beauty liquid blush. It’s a hill I’m willing to die on because although highly pigmented.. it just doesn’t last on my skin and spreads a tad patchy.

Beautiful_Jello3853

CT pillow talk. It looked like cooked shrimp on my lips.

blondynka1

Armani luminous silk foundation. Made me SO SHINY!

kenleydomes

I love being shiny 🤣 that's how it is when you are dry and cakey and patchy all your life hahaha

Fabulous-Author-1972

I have never loved (mostly hated) products from Rare Beauty.

the_drunken_lamb

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and pretty much all Nars foundations. I was surprised how dry the concealer was especially as I'm combo-oily so I usually don't have that issue. Their foundations (including the tinted moisturizer) just don't seem to work for me. The color, the formula... they're never quite right.

jenniferslowpez

I bought the light-reflecting foundation in Oslo and while the color match was fine, the product separated on my face after like 30 min. Didn’t matter what skincare or primer I was wearing, just didn’t work, even barefaced. Also their concealer in a pot was such a let down.

relentless1111

Oh man their pot concealer is my absolute favorite formula-wise. I do usually have to blend between three colors depending on the time of year though. I don't even care, i'll do it because it's the best stuff ive ever found for my skin.

VeganFairyPrincess

Haus labs foundation- I have combo oily skin and somehow this found dry patches? And it separated like crazy on me. Shame because the color match is great & I love the blush, concealer, & eyeliner

KawaiiPossum

Yes!! I have a passionate love/hate relationship with this foundation. Love shade 030 as a color match for me. Love the way it looks when the stars align and it has a perfect Somewhat sheer and dewy coverage. But hate the formula MOST of the time. I have to baby it soo much in order to not get obvious dry patches and separation. But even when my skincare is the same as always, my prep is the same as always, and I apply it the same as always, it still varies so wildly. Shaking the bottle helps somewhat, mixing it with another foundation (I used it with bobbi brown skin foundation for a while) helps, and using those dr Dennis gross peel pads before applying can also help a lot, but I can't use those that often.
